Warri_____ Ahead of preparations for the much talked about Ijaw/Itsekiri peace and unity cup tournament 2019, otherwise known as Comrade Sheriff Mulade peace and unity cup is ongoing and in top gear.

Unlike the first edition which was held in 2017, this year's edition will have a new dimension as two centers will host the competition namely Ugborodo and Benikrukru communities both in Warri South-west local government area. Sixteen teams are expected to feature and battle for honours in the tournament, eight in each center as forms are already on sale in various locations as well as the office of Center for peace and environmental justice Ugolo which serves as the temporary secretariat of the Local organising Committee.

Meanwhile in a recent meeting held by the L.O.C, the Chairman Hon. He advised the coordinators of the two centers to inform the various teams before registration. He added that the technical committee with other technical experts will be on ground to do exponent screening of each team before commencement. He explained further that the above exercise will help to produce the real age grade players who can be taken to the National league and premier league clubs and the will do well because they have age on their side.

In another development, the Organizers are intending to showcase ex-International footballers who will player against a selected side during the opening and closing ceremonies to serve as a moral booster to the various youths participating in the tourney.

The 2017 edition had ex-Internationals like Kenneth Nwaomucha, Edema Fuludu ( M.O.N), Baldwin Bazuaye (M.O.N), Former Super Eagles Coach Austin Eguavoen ( M.O.N ) who attended the finals though they only participated in penalty shoot out against dignitaries like the Deputy Governor of Delta state Barrister Kingsley Otuaro, Hon Daniel Reyeinaju, former member representing Warri federal constituency, former Chairman Warri South-west L.g.a, Hon. George Ekpemukpolo, Hon. David Tonwe, former Chairman of renowned Ufuoma babes f c. Elder Eddington Kuejubola, Former Delta South senatorial district PDP Chairman and now Delta state Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Hon. Prince Emman Amgbaduba and others.

This year's edition promises to be profit yielding as scouts and football agents from across Nigeria and Europe have akready signified their interest to be on ground to spot talented players which will go a long way to raise the marketability of the yearly tournament. One of such organization African Grassroots Football Development with links in Cyprus, Italy and Spain have confirmed their interest to partner with the Organizers moreso with Comrade Sheriff Mulade who was recently appointed as the 2nd National Vice President of the grassroots football body in Nigeria.

The 2017 edition which produced some talents saw Tebujoh Fc. carting home the Gold cup and and a cash prize of Five hundred thousand naira (#500,000) while Krutie Fc. Who were runners up went home with Three hundred thousand naira  (#300,000) and third placed Kokodiagbene Fc. Smiled home with Two hundred thousand naira  (#200,000).
It will be recalled that that the tournament was initiated with the aim of encouraging and sustaining the existing peace and unity that has been attained by the Ijaws and Itsekiris over the past years. The tournament is expected to kick of in November 2019.

New Militant Group Decries Amnesty Office Being Hijacked By Northerners, Calls On FG, EFCC And ICPC To Investigate Dokubo, Jack Over Recent 300 Million Naira Contract Fraud

New Militant Group Decries Amnesty Office Being Hijacked By Northerners, Calls On FG, EFCC And ICPC To Investigate Dokubo, Jack Over Recent 300 Million Naira Contract Fraud

Francis Tayor

Yenagoa______ A new militant group known as the King of the Creeks (KOC), in collaboration with the Creek Dragons CDs, has decried over the recent hijack of the Presidential Amnesty office for Niger Delta ex- agitators by Northerners, stressing that Prof. Charles Dokubo is using the Northerners in the office to loot the Amnesty funds.

The militant group further alleged that Prof Dokubo awarded himself 300 million naira ghost contract last week to fake company without given evidence of what the money was used for. They called on the federal government, President Muhammadu Buhari to set up an investigative panel, as well as EFCC and ICPC to thoroughly investigate Charles Dokubo, Isobo Jack and others over the whereabout of the recent 300million naira that disappears from the Amnesty office.

Speaking to newsmen in Yenagoa on Sunday 15th September, 2019, the leader of the group, Commander Charles Gbafamor Opueni expressed displeasure and disappointment that Prof Dokubo does not know what to do in the Amnesty office. Instead of him to serve and attend to the demands of the Niger Delta agitators, he is busy serving the interest of the Northerners in regards to retain the office for second time.

Commander Gbafamor  regretted the Amnesty  office that is suppose to be handled by Niger Delta people is now being controlled by Northerners, whereby the current head of procurement, as well as the Director of Finance is from Kogi State and not Niger Deltans. This indicates that Prof Dokubo deliberately planted the Northerners there in order to siphoned the Amnesty funds through the Hausa's without any trace to his personal accounts.

According to group, said; " We the King of the Creeks, a new militant group that merged with the Creek Dragons are formally expressing our discomfort.l Commander Charles Gbafamor Opueni, on behalf of the group cease this medium to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to set an investigative team to investigate the Amnesty boss, Prof.Charles Quaker Dokubo.

Presently as we speak Mr.President, there is problem in the Amnesty office. Prof Charles Quaker Dokubo is not matured to handle this programme. We hereby call on you Mr.President to call Prof.Charles Quaker Dokubo to order. The Amnesty programme is supposed to bring peace and sustainability to Niger Delta as a whole, but the reverse is the case. The Amnesty programme belongs to Niger Deltans but now, the Amnesty programme has been hijacked by Northerners."

" lmagine the current head of Procurement is from Kogi State and also the Director of Finance is from Kogi state which is not a Niger Delta state. They have chased out Niger Deltans and Ijaws from the office. Why must the Amnesty office be runed by Northerners and non-Niger Deltans? Dokubo can not steal money and hide it abroad, so the best thing he could do is to use the Northerners they have installed in the Amnesty office to steal money and hide it without any trace. Prof.Charles Dokubo is a confusionist. He can not manage the Amnesty programme. The President knows why he's still keeping him in that office.

As President Buhari want problem in the Niger Delta, he should continue to keep him. Prof Dokubo is a fraud. After Kingsley Kuku paid ex-militants housing allowance of #150,000 (One hundred, fifty thousand naira), since that time till today, no housing allowance has been paid. As Prof Charles entered, he is supposed to think of the house allowance but he is just thinking of himself only. He has awarded so many fake contracts to fake companies. Last week, he awarded himself of 300 million naira contract. Let him explain the works he has done with the money in Amnesty office. Since he became amnesty boss, he has not gone to any ljaw village. All where he goes is Abroad. We called on the Federal Govt to investigate him now."

" Commander Gbafamor alleged that, the 300 million naira contract money was paid to Isobo Jack account. This is not rumor, rather is based on proof and evidences. Let the ICPC, EFCC and federal govt begin investigation on Prof Charles Dokubo and his gang of fraudsters. Prof Charles is a thief. He steals more than Paul Boroh. Boroh is not a thief, he is a good man when compared to Dokubo. Where are the generators, plasmas and other items Prof Charles claimed to buy that worths 60 million naira in Kaiama? They are no where to be found. He made arrangement to steal all the items without anyone noticing. Federal government should ask him of the 60 million naira. Dokubo  can not manage the Amnesty office, he must go.

We are begging the Minister of State for Petroleum, Chief Timipre Sylva to call on the President to look into this matter. We know that Chief Timipre Sylva was among the people who fought for the initiation of the Amnesty programme. We called on Timipre to use his good office to call on the President to look into this matter, because we need change. There is fire on the mountain and except a change is initiated in that office, the fire will keep on burning. Prof Charles only awards fake contracts to embezzle the money meant for the Amnesty programme. He also took advantage of peoples wife just to give them contracts."

" We are begging the ICPC and EFCC to please leave our ljaw brothers and sisters in the Amnesty office and focus their attention on the real fraudsters and thieves in that office. We are giving federal govt a week ultimatum to resolve this problem if not, we will shut down the Amnesty office.

If this request is not done, anything the Federal govt sees, they should take it in good faith. We have made our complaint and it is left for the Federal govt to respond to our request, the group stated."

Late Hon.Agbeotu Teiyebo, The Terroriser Of Terrorism, Says Ekanpou Enewaredideke

Late Hon.Agbeotu Teiyebo, The Terroriser Of Terrorism, Says Ekanpou Enewaredideke

Francis Tayor

A Niger Delta renowned literalist and award winning prolific writer, Mr. Ekanpou Enewaridideke has described the late Ojobo born Ijaw philosophical high life music maestro, Hon. Agbeotu Teiyebo, who passed on last month as a terroriser of terrorism, stressing that Agbeotu fought terrorism ideologically through his two theories of 'BENABAFAISM' and 'EBIMENISM'.

Mr.Ekanpou also lamented that, despite the visionary Agbeotu who fought terrorism remotely with all his resources in Nigeria is yet to be identified and recognized - even if in honorific dimensions by past and present Nigeria Presidents. Could this lack of recognition for Agbeotu be a product of the ethnic group he hails from?, Mr Ekanpou ask.

Ekanpou made the statement in a well articulated elaborate article in honour of the deceased, said Agbeotu, the propounder of the theories of BENABAFAISM and EBIMENISM, is a great philosopher, a multi- dimensional personality who commands reputation as a poet, novelist, dramatist and a proverb-filled orator extraordinaire whose pre- occupation centres quintessentially on war against terrorism through his famous seminal works such as ' BENABAFA, EBIMENE, LATE DUKE OF OJOBO' and many others.

According to him in the article reads ;

This mad world is mad. This our mad world has gone mad; the madness of the world derives muscles of reinforcement from daily engagement of the dialogue on terrorism. Almost on daily basis there are claims and counter-claims of casualties (as one would say in JP Clark’s ‘The Casualties’) as regards the successes and methodologies adopted in the fight against terrorism. Words like ‘decimated’, ‘degraded’, ‘technically degraded’, ‘defeated’, etc. have become the beloved register of the fight against terrorism in Nigeria.

From the government of Olusegun Obasanjo, Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari, there are always varying claims of successes in the war against terrorism. People become justifiably embittered – embittered people armed with the knowledge of how the terrorism war had been fought from the distant past – whenever the government sanctimoniously talks about the terrorism war, claiming credits in narcissistic nods, without a mention of Hon.Teiyebo Agbeotu – that Agbeotu who fought terrorism ideologically through his two theories of ‘BENABAFAISM’ and ‘EBIMENISM’ propounded and pursued vigorously for the betterment of the society as a remote antidote against terrorism. It saddens that this visionary Agbeotu who fought terrorism remotely with all his resources is yet to be identified and recognized – even if in honorific dimensions. Could this lack of recognition for Agbeotu be a product of the ethnic group he hails from?

Buhari’s failure to recognize Agbeotu is comparatively better when viewed against the backdrop of the activities of Chief Opudu Boro (Chairman of Delta Waterways and Land Security Committee) who is reputationally respected for his relentless war against maritime terrorism in the Niger Delta. Even this Boro claims that he does not know that Agbeotu is a remarkable fighter of terrorism. Had Boro known this, Governor Okowa would have wasted no time in making Agbeotu a think-tank on maritime criminalities in Delta State and beyond. Chief Boro, why didn’t you tell Governor Okowa and his deputy, Otuaro, that Agbeotu philosophically fought terrorism remotely through the deployment of his compositional masterpieces? Or didn’t you know this before now? Are you afraid that Governor Okowa would make Agbeotu the Director-General of Delta Waterways and Land Security Committee and have you overshadowed in security matters in the Niger Delta?

Agbeotu, the propounder of the theories of BENABAFAISM and EBIMENISM, a great philosopher, is a multi-dimensional personality who commands reputation as a poet, novelist, dramatist and a proverb-filled orator extraordinaire whose preoccupation centres quintessentially on war against terrorism through his famous seminal works such as ‘BENABAFA’, ‘LATE DUKE OF OJOBO’, ‘ LATE OGBOSU OF OJOBO’, ‘EBIMENE SPECIAL’, ‘ENEKEBOMOSU’, ‘DEBERE’, ‘MONEY NO DEY DIE’, ‘EBIKEME MIEYE SIYA’, ‘LATE JOHNSON EKPETU’, ‘EGBAMENI’ and many others. Though Agbeotu is a highly philosophical musician, his philosophical songs have metamorphosed into poems, novels and plays through the meticulous translations of Mr.Gogi Serikoromo of Oyangbene in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.

In the musically anchored stand of Agbeotu, terrorism would peter into the air if the concept of BENABAFAISM is eradicated. Conceptually, BENABAFAISM is the nihilistic, cynical severance and denial of brotherhood or ties of consanguinity. When ties of consanguinity are deliberately and selfishly severed, ill thoughts become the harbour of hitherto brotherly and sisterly people or kindred. I thoughts that spring or sprout from consumed and consolidated BENABAFAISM are likely to progress and condense like molten lava and merge into terrorism of different types – Boko Haram terrorism, banditry, rape, kidnap or maritime terrorism in the Niger Delta. Because Agbeotu knows psychically like Nostradamus, he conceptually built the theory of BENABAFAISM and highlighted the evils associated with it and musically persuaded people to reject the retrogressive theory so that BENABAFAISM would not become the yeast, the catalyst of terrorism.

Having propounded and popularised the theory of BENABAFAISM and located his stand, Agbeotu musically draws attention to the underdevelopment of the Niger Delta and the need for ideological agitation against the government and the multi-national oil companies located visibly as the oppressors. Preachment of love among people also echoes in his works just like his belief in reinincarnation features prominently in his works like ‘Late Duke of Ojobo’, ‘Debere’, ‘Late Ogbosu of Ojobo’ and ‘Late Chief Johnson Ekpetu’.

When the main terrorist (death) strikes down a loved one, the loved ones of the deceased are thrown into seemingly irretrievable depths of despair. Musically,  Agbeotu appears and gives the loved ones the dosage of the philosophical medication required to stop the drift into irredeemable depth of despair – despair bound to steer them into another terrorist zone where death rules unchallenged as a terrorist. Music masterpieces, classics, like ‘Late Ogbosu of Ojobo’ and  ‘Late Duke of Ojobo’ by Agbeotu become the right philosophical medication for the speedy recovery of the bereaved – which eventually become the proactive inoculation against death’s terrorist spikes when a loved one dies.

Philosophically, Agbeotu is the Medical Managing Director of the inoculation team against death from death whenever death strikes in a terrorist style. Alas, Agbeotu the philosophical pharmacist, the philosophical pharmacologist, in this terrorized world has gone home with his latest philosophical inoculation drugs, leaving behind only his existing vaccination drugs like ‘Late Christopher Andasei’, ‘Late Duke of Ojobo’, ‘Late Chief Johnson Ekpetu’ and many other musical masterpieces that carry echoes of despair-annihilation.

When people are unjustly deprived, dehumanized, degraded, reduced, infantilized, oppressed, exploited and deprived followed by the likelihood of the outbreak of a violent protest geared towards bloody revolution and varied terrorist thrusts, the musically channelled vaccination drugs of Agbeotu become very relevant and potent forces for creation of philosophical balance, intellectual awakening, moral rearmament, societal redirection, societal reconstruction and progression. Agbeotu sees the world in terms of universal brotherhood – a philosophical stand that often makes him disgusted with any attempt at severance of ties of brotherhood. As ties of brotherhood are preserved, the progress of one another becomes a top priority as ill thoughts toward one another will no longer be harboured. When ill thoughts springing from injustice no longer parade the secular space, terrorist thoughts naturally wilt away for a peaceful and progressive society. This is why Agbeotu insists musically that, BENABAFAISM which conceptually means deliberate nihilistic severance of ties of brotherhood, consanguinity, co-operative peaceful coexistence, mutual unity, healthy partnership, mutual transformation agenda, and the planting of disunity, wickedness, injustices, exploitation, oppression, dehumanization and intimidation, should be totally eliminated in the society occasioned by its inherent dangers and contradictions with  regard to peaceful coexistence and societal progression. He views BENABAFAISM as the catalyst to terrorism – a reason why he uses all his resources to demonise BENABAFAISM as a kind of proactive inoculation against terrorism but did President Buhari recognise Agbeotu for his philanthropic deployment of music to wage war against terrorism? Can Nigeria win the war against terrorism now that Agbeotu is dead?

The world awakened to the lethal tentacles of BENABAFAISM, Agbeotu dwells mainly on the consequences of embracing the concept. So in his musical masterpiece entitled ‘ENEKEBOMOSU’, he contends that where love and unity are buried beyond reincarnation, underdevelopment is the harvest. Clearly, underdevelopment is a bridge to terrorism which is today ravaging the Northern part of Nigeria. Had Buhari engaged Agbeotu as anti-terrorism think-tank, would terrorism have still bared its deadly arrogant fangs in Nigeria?

Dug into allegorically in Agbeotu’s philosophical language, philosophical appropriation, he sees terrorism from varied perceptives. Agbeotu sees terrorism as a terrorist; he also sees death as a terrorist. The first perceptive on terrorism is the conventional terrorism emanating from deliberate companionship struck with the theory of BENABAFAISM. The second perceptive is the universal terrorism which every human being is in unstoppably bound to experience as a parting gift from terrorism. Even this universal terrorism could develop wings of facilitation from the conventional terrorism because a lethal terrorist attack eventually ends in death – that death which is the SUPREME TERRORIST.

Memorably, Agbeotu has corresponding philosophical medication/antidote against both the conventional terrorism and the universal terrorism. Even at death imposed on him by the merciless terrorist called DEATH, Agbeotu’s musical masterpieces – ‘Late Duke of Ojobo’, ‘Late Ogbosu of Ojobo, ‘Benabafa’,  ‘Debere’, “Enekebomosu’, ‘Money No dey Die’, ‘Late Chief Johnson Ekpetu’, etc, will constantly equip the society intellectually, morally, culturally, historically, sociologically and philosophically to prevent any ‘gongon’ drift into dangerous waters both in the moral and security architecture in the secular society where peaceful cohabitation and coexistence is the holy grail sought by every civilized government. Therefore, terrorism lied where he thinks naively that he has eventually silenced Agbeotu by terrorizing him into silence because Agbeotu’s musical works/masterpieces have been deployed everywhere to continue the war sustainably against terrorism both in spirit and in psychic projections and visualization towards the birth of a better world.

Because Agbeotu saw terrorism-dreamers, envy-merchants, suicide-merchants, suicide-purveyors, hopelessness-merchants and the likelihood of these pernicious thoughts merging and condensing into terrorist orientation and terrorist inspiration bound to cause massive societal deflection and drift into madness – which is the focal point of the theory of BENABAFAISM – he propounded his second theory named EBIMENISM. His theory of ‘Ebimenism’ is created as a preventive philosophical medication for suicide and terrorism. People variously inhibited in life must not lose hope and commit suicide because everybody will become progressive in life. Analogically, the fact that Robert and Bestman are progressing in life, Agbeotu and others will also progress in life because Agbeotu is not the killer of Jesus Christ, the son of God.

Because Agbeotu foresees and sees the likelihood of terrorism developing from BENABAFAISM and its coextensive ruination of the society, he propounded the theory of EBIMENISM targeted to imprison thoughts of terrorism and suicide. Where BENABAFAISM permeates society in destructive dimensions, the theory of EBIMENISM should be embraced alternatively to prevent any descent into terrorist or satanic thoughts because the centrality of the theory lies in the philosophy that everybody is bound or destined to succeed in their various endeavours no matter how long it takes, so the waiting period must not be turned into the harbour for terrorist or suicidal thoughts – terrorist or suicidal thoughts which can only stem from the embrace of the theory of BENABAFAISM. So EBIMENISM is a theory propounded by Agbeotu to fill gaps created in the society by immersion in, and intoxication by, the theory of BENABAFAISM.

EBIMENISM is a
stabilizing and constructive theory geared towards a better society inhabited by only sane-minded persons who see possibilities in their various endeavours notwithstanding the temporary inhibitions or obstacles. Philosophically, Agbeotu is a creator and lover of hope in a society that may be tempted to drift into hopelessness, terrorism and suicide occasioned by appropriation/application of the shibboleths of BENABAFAISM. Agbeotu’s philosophical postulations are chiefly for the emergence of an orderly society where morality is the only Holy Grail pursued vigorously like the search of Professor Robert Langdon, the symbologist, and Sophie Neveu, the cryptologist, for the Holy Grail in Dan Brown’s THE DA VINCI CODE occasioned by Jacques Sauniere’s cipher left in the Louvre before his murder in the museum.

Philosophically, Agbeotu sees a man as somebody who travels between two worlds seasonally – the world of the dead and the world of the living – that the dead can protect the living from the underworld just as they are free to leave the underworld and come to the world of the living through birth. Agbeotu is more alarmed, puzzled, agitated and saddened by the departure of the living to the land of the dead than the seasonal arrival of the dead from the underworld in the land of the living. It is while in his state of sorrow, sadness, grief, depression, melancholy, puzzlement and dumbfoundment that Agbeotu delves into endless gamut of philosophical questions as to why the ‘John-Donned’ death should proudly smile on his ‘closest persons’ in his family – Duke, Debere, Ogbosu, Christopher Andasei and Johnson Ekpetu. Agbeotu loses his emotional balance when he sees the white box (coffin) of Duke and others. Historically, Agbeotu is philosophically catapulted into music by the sudden death of Duke and Debere who are his sister and aunty. Because he cannot bear the weight of their loss, he buries his sorrow philosophically in his musical works categorized generally today as the classics of Agbeotu possessed of the power to salvage sorrowful people from depression and confusion when the songs are listened to in the grip of calamity. No Ijaw musician can outpace, outdo, beat, Agbeotu in the composition of musical dirges. Even late King Robert Ebizimor sees Agbeotu as a musician par excellence when it borders specifically on composition of songs about dead people.

This man called Agbeotu – the propounder of the theory of BENABAFAISM, the implacable hater of his own theory of BENABAFAISM, a theory he situates quintessentially as the base of his relentless war against terrorism, the propounder of the theory of EBIMENISM as a philosophical antidote against the spikes of BENABAFAISM, a great philosopher –  is a multi-dimensional personality  who became the Amanana-owei of Ojobo from 2013 – 2014 whose musical works are the philosophical meditation for the resuscitation of the bereaved and the psychologically confused; he was born 25 April 1945 at Ojobo and attended Modern School from 1962 – 1964, leaving the school with a distinction grade. He was a remarkable wrestling champion in Ojobo from childhood to adulthood whose wrestling tactics Amalinze the cat and Okonkwo of Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart would not be able to confront.

Beyond his fame as a notable wrestling champion, Agbeotu was a reputable footballer who played football for the Western region in 1963. Premised on his footballing genius, he was engaged by the Nigeria Prisons in 1968 as a prison warder whose duty it was to play for the Nigeria Prisons and got it laurelled in the sporting arena. His footballing genius gave him unquenchable radiance anywhere he found himself. While working in the Nigeria Prisons as a remarkable sportsman, his radiance once again struck the Nigeria Navy which equally recruited him to play football for them as a naval officer. Agbeotu would have metamorphosed from a prison warder to a naval officer but for the documentation which he missed due to unforeseen circumstances beyond control. He began his footballing career in Ojobo town in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State at the age of 17 – a time he played football devotedly and brought fame and laurels to Ojobo community during soccer competitions with neighbouring communities.

Quite early in 1963 Agbeotu developed interest in music. Towards the pursuit of his dream in music, he formed the AFRO-BAND using improvised rudimentary musical instruments such as disposed milk tins, hollowed milk cups, hand-made drums and wooden guitars locally made. Satisfied that he had honed or developed his musical talent to a reasonable degree through self-apprenticeship in his own AFRO BAND in Ojobo, Agbeotu joined late King Robert Ebizimor’s Izon Brothers band of Nigeria in 1975. His membership of King Ebizimor’s band marked the formal cradle of Agbeotu’s musical career pursued professionally without distractions. In 1992 Agbeotu left the Izon Brothers Band of Nigeria to form his own music band named Teiyebo Agbeotu and His Oil City Dance Band of Ojobo in pursuit of his music career as his own boss with his own boys taking instructional/directional dictations from him.

Even as a boss in his own thriving music band, Agbeotu occasionally featured with King Ebizimor in Izon Brothers Band of Nigeria to entertain music aficionados on the stage of performance. Agbeotus’s occasional migratory journey to King Ebizimor’s band to perform alongside king Ebizimor was a product of the love, unity and respect the two music legends had for each other – which was a reciprocatory throw-back to their togetherness in the past when their various musical careers still looked somewhat indistinct and dark.

Historically speaking, even at the risk of being repetitively verbose,I must say that Agbeotu’s initiatory journey into music was provoked unexpectedly by the unhoped-for death of Duke and Debere who were the backbone of his life as his great sister and aunty in Ojobo town. The great musician, the great philosopher, Agbeotu is today would have been an impossibility but for the sudden retirement of Duke and Debere from the world at a time their services to Agbeotu were still needed – an experience that parallels that of late King Robert Ebizimor who equally lost his elder brother Friday, who was the only father figure to Robert at childhood after the death of his own biological parents when he was only eleven years old.

Distinguishably talented and enthusiastic about sports, Agbeotu was also a cultural devotee. He was notably the directional entertaining force behind the BENISEDE and OSUOPELE masquerades in Ojobo. It was Agbeotu’s amazing directional skill which made BENISEDE and OSUOPELE notably colourful, entertaining and memorable as the two masquerades magically responded in enthralling performance/display to the steadily heightened appreciatory echoes of Amgberi Kolo, Amgberi Kolo, Amgberi Kolo Kolo Kolooooo from the masquerade enthusiasts during masquerade festivities.

Now with the 25-August-2019 terrorised homeward journey of the generalissimo of BENISEDE and OSUOPELE masquerades, the appreciatory echo of Amgberi Kolo kolo which enjoyed enthusiastic crescendo will now be the handmaiden of diminuendo during masquerade festivities in Ojobo. The hitherto deafening echo of Amgberi Kolo kolo will be no more in Ojobo now that Agbeotu is in the grip of that deadly merciless terrorist called death whose cage nobody can salvage people from – not even that man called Chief Boro (the Chairman, Delta Waterways and Land Security Committee) who enjoys a reputation as a fighter of maritime terrorism in the Niger Delta. Oh, Ojobo has lost a great philosopher with a multi-dimensional personality. That Agbeotu whose perpetually leavened, seasoned, cooked, condiment-consolidated, jokes (okeke) have the quality of making one’s ribs riot with uncontrollable laughter! Agbeotu would thrive better reputationally as a comedian in his next incarnation!

Dear Agbeotu,  because of your constant philosophical fondness for telling the dead to remember the living in their protective umbrella – a coincidental echo of the poet George Awoonor Williams in his poem ‘Songs of Sorrow’ – which occurs like a refrain in all your musical dirges or elegies, particularly your musical dirge on Ekpetu entitled ‘Late Chief Johnson Ekpetu’ where you address Chief Ekpetu as ‘dear Ekpetu, you are now dead, and now that you are dead, spread your protective umbrella over your children, including Agbeotu and his musical crew’, you should also unfurl your protective umbrella over Kennedy your son, and your entire family now that you have journeyed to the land of the dead (the underworld).

Agbeotu, late Bestman Doupere and late King Robert Ebizimor were great Ijaw musicians who initially played music together in Robert Ebizimor’s Izon brothers band of Nigeria and toured the length and breadth of Nigeria. Interestingly, despite the togetherness of these three musicians, they were all distinguished by their own philosophical positions on life coupled with remarkably different compositional skills and recognizably distinct individual instrumentation patterns. However, among these three wisemen, the celebrated three music philosophers, Agbeotu was the only one left, yet to be integrated into the mysteries of DUEAMABOU(the underworld).

This man they call Teiyebo Agbeotu, the Professor of proverbs in music, the versatile orator, the electrifying conversationalist like the late poet Christopher Okigbo, the indefatigable comedian, the classless man who plays with every category of people, the exceptional lover of humanity, the hater of injustice and oppression, the man whose song entitled ‘Late Ogbosu of Ojobo’ irresistibly moved Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State to break into endless dance steps during the first remembrance anniversary of late king Robert Ebizimor, this music poet who has musically waged fierce war against terrorism and any type of maritime vices/criminalities – even much more than Buhari, Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan – this man who sees death as the worst terrorist, was terrorized into silence by terrorism on the 25th of August 2019 in Warri. A man who fought terrorism fiercely was at last ridiculed and claimed by terrorism. Buhari, Obasanjo, Jonathan, Ifeanyi Okowa, deputy governor Otuaro and Chief Boro knew that the man actually fought and terrorised terrorism while terrorism was still alive, yet they did not come to rescue Agbeotu when the terrorist filed out like Esaba ants in their thousands and pummelled him to death without resistance.

Buhari, Obasanjo, Jonathan, Okowa, Otuaro and Chief Boro could not have rescued Agbeotu from that terrorist called death because that terrorist is more powerful and deadly than any government agent however resourceful and good-intentioned. Boro would be ridiculed even if he came with all the soldiers in Delta Waterways and Land Security Committee to confront that terrorist that terrorised Agbeotu into silence!

It appears the terrorist that terrorised Agbeotu and his heavy philosophical statements into co-operative silence is the most dreaded terrorist that terrifies even Buhari, Dickson, Obasanjo, Jonathan, Okowa Otuaro and Boro beyond thoughts of salvage operation for the inimitable proverbialist; let us summon the poet John Donne to ridicule the terrorist so that the terrorist (death) no longer proudly and arrogantly tells the world that he has hunted down both Agbeotu and his didactic philosophical thoughts. In fact, let John Donne tell death the terrorist who calls himself the terrorist that the terrorist has ironically transmitted Hon. Teiyebo Agbeotu to the land of imperishability, indestructibility and immortality and that Buhari, Obasanjo, Jonathan, Okowa, Otuaro, Seriake Dickson and Chief Boro did not abandon Agbeotu because of terrorism and the terrorist, but they  abandoned him because of the terrorist who incurably suffers from BIPOLAR DISORDER … because they are all powerless before that terrorist that has terrorised Agbeotu into submission.

‘John-donnecally’, the dead embraces eternal wakefulness after a short sleep – a time death loses his intimidating sting and disappears like vapour in acceptance of his own death when John Donne poetically exclaims that ‘death, thou shalt die’, Teiyebo Agbeotu is dead but Agbeotu shall not die like death because his great musical works, masterpieces, classics, are there to tell his story from generations to generations. Therefore, the terrorism of death is a licence of philosophical immortality for Agbeotu, the great philosopher.

Angele In Fresh Trouble As IPDI Writes The Leadership Of Burutu Legislative Arm To Prob Reckless Spending Of Council Funds, Read Details Of The Letter

Francis Tayor

IJAW PEOPLE'S DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE, IPDI. No,92 Alegbo Road, Off PTI, Effurun Warri, Delta State.

Rt.Hon.Joseph Alubeze Fuludu, The leader, Burutu Legislative arm,
Burutu.

10th September, 2019

Sir,

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE LEADERSHIP OF BURUTU LEGISLATIVE ARM, RT.HON.JOSEPH ALUBEZE FULUDU TO BEGIN A THOROUGH AND DRASTIC PROBE INTO THE COUNCIL'S FUNDS WITHIN 7DAYS

We hereby write most respectfully to your enviable office as leader of Burutu legislative arm to begin a drastic and rigorious probe into the treasury of the council as headed by Hon.Godkows Angele for about two years, and as well funds leftover in the treasury by the past administration led by Chief Ebikeme Clark within 7days.

It may interest you to know that indigenes of Burutu council area are not happy  with the activities of Hon. Godknows Angele as regards management of funds in the council for about two years as the Council's Chairman.

It is a fact that works done by Burutu council Chairman, Mr.Godknows Angele since assumption of office as regards renovations, wooden toilets and the uncompleted councilor's lodge propagated as leading legacy are not commensurable with monies been received from the federation account.

It is worthy of note that Local Government system in the federation is a strategic tier of Government saddled with the responsibility of bringing government closer to the grassroots in a view of providing and attracting development to rural communities in its jurisdiction.

You will agree with us that one of the key functions of the legislative arm of government is checks and balance, probing into the financial activities of the executive arm of government to prevent illegal appropriations and diversion of public funds. But over the years, the legislative arm of local government areas in the federation have been turned to be a puppet by the executive arm of government, a development that has breed corruption and underdevelopment in our localities.

As you know, the electorates are empowered by the freedom of information act to demand for a thorough account of public fund from those saddled with the responsibility of the day- to-day running of government business if not satisfied with the state of things.

We may as well petition the Delta State house of assembly, through the members representing Burutu in the state assembly with reasons why a probe action should be carried out in Burutu Council for effective service delivery.

In exercise of our fundamental rights, we deem it fit to demand that you and other members of the legislative arm of Burutu Local Government council should summon courage to prevail or compel Mr Godknows Angele to give vivid account of monies been received from the federation accounts, IGR and monies leftover by his predecessor within 7days.

We hope, being the fact that the current leader of Burutu legislative arm is an upright man, he will not gamble with his office and believing same that he will do the needful within the 7days ultimatum given, in a view of initiating a probe into the financial dealings of the council and give public report in the same vein.

Meanwhile, we intend not to write further reminder as failure to do the needful at the expiration of the 7days ultimatum, we shall seek the help of a competent court of law to compel Mr.Godknows Angele to give a thorough account of funds accrued to the council for the two years period.

Thanks for your anticipated coorperation.

Yoursfaithfully,

Major Timi Ogobiri

Spokesman IPDI.

Review The NDDC Board Appointment Now, Delta ljaw Short Changed, Izanzan Camp Blows Hot, Tells President Buhari

Review The NDDC Board Appointment Now, Delta ljaw Short Changed, Izanzan Camp Blows Hot, Tells President Buhari

Francis Tayor

The National leadership of Ijaw Interest Advocates (IIA), IzanzanCamp angrily called on the presidency to review the NDDC Board Appointment after series of critical meeting in the ICCR-Creek.

Following the recent announcement of the board appointment we are bold to state that the place of Ijaws in Delta has been shortchanged deliberately by some political gladiators in Delta state in collaboration with a Bayelsa political gladiator in disguise of protecting Ijaw political agenda.

Also following the open position of the Western Ijaw Consultative Assembly (WICA) over the NDDC Board Appointment, we have no other option than to join our kinsmen to fight for our right.

Records had it that Delta Ijaw has not be entrusted with sensitive office in the Board in recent time. For the past 12 years the offices zone to Delta State has been hijacked and rotated among the Itsekiris and the Urhobos while the Ijaws whose collective sensibilities and blood that resulted to the creation of NDDC has no place.

We are not disregarding the fact that presidency might be ignorant of the formation of NDDC and the origination of the modern day arm struggle thus presidency must do the necessary; review the board to maintain as well as to strengthen the already exiting peace and harmonious co-existence in the region.

Presidency must know that the NDDC was never created on political bases but for the collective interest of the minorities in the south most especially the Ijaws as clearly stated and stipulated in page 95/96 in the Willink Commission report, 1957/1958 before Nigeria's Independence.

Conclusively, we once again call on President Buahri to review board and implore him to be mindful with those Niger Delta leaders he work with day in and day out as we wish les him well in his already running second term administration.

Xenophobic Attack: CEPEJ Boss Mulade Condemns Action Of South African Youths, Charges Africa Union To Take Drastic Steps To End Attacks Now

Xenophobic Attack: CEPEJ Boss Mulade Condemns Action Of South African Youths, Charges Africa Union To Take Drastic Steps To End Attacks Now

Francis Tayor

Asaba____The authorities of a Nigerian based Non Governmental Organisation, the Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ has condemned in a strong term the current trend of xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

The Center noted that Xenophobia in South Africa significantly increased after Nigeria led other countries in the fight for the election of a government of black majority in 1994.

National coordinator of the center, Comrade Mulade Sheriff while addressing jounalist in Asaba, the capital of Delta State expressed total disappointment over the attitude of South African youths toward African immigrants and while quoting a 2004 study published by the Southern African Migration Project (SAMP), the NGO said South Africans expressed the harshest anti-immigrant sentiment, with 21% of them in favour of a complete ban on foreign entry and 64% supporting strict limitations on the number of immigrants permitted. Violence against foreign citizens and African refugees became common and communities were divided by hostility and suspicion.

The Center has therefore charged the Nigerian government to be more proactive in ensuring that the lives and property of Nigerians in South Africa are protected. The NGO also charged the African Union, AU to immediately step in, in the interest of peace and unity as its contribution towards uniting Africans through the use of resources to avert future attacks, and ensure that attempts at blocking peace building amongst the affected Africans, are forstalled.

CEPEJ which has the mandate to promote peace, good governance and fundamental human rights of the marginalized populations, and promoting environmental best practices, has also called on the South African government and relevant authorities to ensure that perpetrators of the dastardly acts of violence and violations of human rights are brought to justice, and that steps are taken to end the uprising.

The recent anti-foreigner attacks in Johannesburg have triggered violence and widespread looting of South Africa-owned brands in Nigeria. Many stores owned by Nigerians were also touched by angry mobs who looted, burnt and vandalized shops and vehicles, after violence erupted on Sunday.

Reports say many people were killed and about 189 persons allegedly involved in the mayhem have been arrested. Many foreign stores were targeted in the violence. The impacts of the latest xenophobic attacks are now reverberating across the African continent with far-reaching negative consequences if not urgently curtailed.

In Nigeria, South African business outfits were attacked, characterized in some cases by looting and mass destruction. Although the government of South Africa and that of Nigeria condemned the attacks, more action is required to stop the xenophobic offensive before it gets out of hand.

Observers say the attacks were driven by economic tension and growing inequality in South Africa. There are signs of economic and class wars between the poor and the rich fuelled by leadership failure, Mulade stressed.

He was a law abiding citizen and a final year student of Uniport and has never involved in any criminal matter in his life.I last saw my son in April, 2019 during my  30years marriage anniversary. Let justice, fair play take its course. I want the killer police man of my son to brought to book. It is then, l will let go this matter, the father stated."

However, according to the petition written by the lawyer on behalf of the family to the Inspector General of Police, in collaboration with the Conference for the Actualization of Human Rights group, jointly signed by its National Coordinator, Omemiroro Ogedegbe (ESQ), and the National Secretary, Comrade Ozobo Austin reads :

We have been contacted by the family of Late Chinedu Obi as represented by Gabriel Iluma, Efe Tutikpoma Fredrick and Mrs. Anita Okumagba.
It is our Brief that our clients have by a petition dated the 26th day of July 2019, from the office of Balogun & Balogun petitioned the Inspector General of Police to investigate the circumstances leading to the death of Chinedu Obi, who in a bid to advance his Musical Career travelled to visit his friend at Otta, Ogun State on the 19th July, 2019.
That while at Otta, Ogun State a case of Assault was leveled against him by a phone seller at Sango, Ogun State.

The deceased was arrested and taken to the police station without any form of restraint and in the process of interrogation he was alleged to be irrational by the police and was subsequently restrained by an handcuff by the police. Surprisingly while the handcuff was being put in the deceased hands he did not threaten to kill anyone within a short period of time, it was alleged by the police that the deceased became so irrational that the handcuff got removed and he picked up a long axe in the interrogation room in the presence of policemen and went outside the police station while still under handcuff and destroyed some vehicles. It was further alleged that the deceased after destroying dozen of vehicles was pursuing an armed policeman who eventually shot him.
As if that was not enough he was left on the ground within the police station wriggling in pain and bleeding for a long time without immediate medical attention. The video clip showed the last moment of the deceased while on the plain ground asking that he be allowed to speak to his father which was refused by the police neither was he taken to a hospital.

It is quite unfortunate and saddening that the police public relation officer, Ogun state Mr. Abimbola Opeyemi while commenting on the incident had stated that “He started chasing the officer, while armed with an axe and the officer shot him in the leg to demobilize him, he was immediately taken to the general hospital where he died” we ask “Demobilized with a lethal weapon”?

The officer with respect was far away from the truth and speaking from an informed position. The deceased was shot in the right buttock not the leg as alledged by the police and he was shot from behind. Could the policeman whom the deceased was pursing turn around to shoot him from behind? An attempt to cover up is insulting. It is akin to turn day light to darkness. Dancing on the grave of the deceased is not fair to the young man.
The deceased was taken to Ottah general hospital probably after he must have even died and not to Ife general Hospital as stated by the PPRO.
The question we seek redress are as follows:

Was he alleged of a capital offence?
Either yes or no, was he armed with a weapon of any kind.

Did he resist arrest? No
Even if he died will shooting the deceased the only option to get him restrained? No

At what point did he become so irrational that he was stripped to his boxers part as shown in the video clip which has gone viral?

The deceased was still hale and hearty when he was restrained with the handcuff. When he further behaved irrationally as alleged, what effort or steps was taken to either isolating him in a cell or put a leg chain?

At what point did the deceased remove the handcuff put behind him to go and pick an axe to destroy the vehicles and threatening people as alledged?

Where are the policemen that witnessed the irrational behavior of the deceased who still kept an axe in the picking up an axe?

If the deceased was pursuing an armed policeman as alleged, who and where is the policeman that shot the deceased and at what part of his body?

We state further that the statement credited to the Divisional Police Officer at Sango Police Station, Ogun State when the nephew of the deceased MADAM ANITA OKUMAGBA met with the DPO, on Sunday the 21st July, 2019 that a policeman “angrily shot” the deceased summed it all.

With due respect sir, there is no justification for the use of maximum force on the deceased to restrain him. The deceased was on handcuff for a much longer time and cautionary measure could have been adopted to further restrain even if he has mental imbalance as alleged. If the deceased behaved irrationally, the police that shot him was even more irrational in the given circumstance. This is a clear case of weapon abuse. It is our humble opinion that the policeman in question did not exhibit enough maturity and professionalism in his judgment before the trigger.
The life of Utagb – Ogbe, Ndokwa West Local Government, Delta State born undergraduate was cut short by the overzealous policeman. He was a final year student of the department of physics, University of Port Harcourt Choba, River State.

No doubt, since you took up the reign as Inspector General of Police, thing have changed for better with reform of the police force. The tempo should keep going and never should you allow any member of the police force to turn back the hands of the clock to the dark old days.
We urge to use your good office to set up a high powered and dispassionate investigation into this killing, and bring the culprit to book the delay in the investigation of this matter is most unfortunate.
We shall be compelled to institute an action without further notice if within seven days our demand for a thorough investigation of this matter is not complied with.
