Gov.Okowa Conquered Infrastructural Obsecurity In Coastal Delta -Timi Bougha
...Lauds Takeme's Efficiency In Service Delivery
....Gov.Okowa Search No Further, Takeme Is A Bridge Builder.
Francis Tayor
BURUTU---------- A social advocate and youth leader, Comrade Timi Bougha, vice president of Niger Delta Youth Advocates, has commended the Executive Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa for conquering infrastructural obscurity in coastal Delta by putting up massive infrastructural revolution in riverine communities, noting that, the governor's resolve is sound, unique, unprecedented and a step in the right direction.
The youth leader opined that, Gov Okowa has shown capacity as a Governor demystifying the excuse of terrain difficulty by others. " Okowa's revolutionary infrastructural development in coastal Delta is a record showing the foot print of his resolve, understanding and readiness to tackle the myriads of multifaceted issues bedevilling the coastal Delta having road infrastructure in the front burner" - Bougha said.
Comr.Bougha made the disclosure at Obotobo while addressing Newsmen shortly after the commissioning and unveiling of the 20.29km road infrastructure in Ogulagha Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON.
Bougha maintained that in the last four years of the Okowa led administration in Delta State, riverine communities have seen an unprecedentedly friendly administration with an insight solution to coastal scourge in the State.
In the same vein, the youth leader has lauded the consistent competency of the Obotebe born political Apostle who is the immediate past Commissioner for Urban Renewal Delta State, Chief Dr Julius Takeme for his efficiency and competent service delivery saying, Chief Takeme is a special breed to mankind.
Chief Takeme's leadership, foresight, capacity and efficiency for a smooth presidential visit, commissioning and unveiling of road infrastructural projects in coastal Delta was put to bare, he manned it and for the very first time without hitch and scourge to the glory of God, the man Takeme overwhelmingly delivered - Bougha said.
At this juncture, it is imperative to resound that Chief Dr Julius Takeme, JP is one of the few prize politicians who can perform and function in any wise, being sort by Gov. Okowa to man his cabinet.
Without much Ado, just as every other prized politicians in Delta, Gov. Okowa, knows too well that Chief Takeme needs no introduction. As a Deltan, I am a witness and can testify of how apposite the person of Chief Takeme is, with the pedigree of portfolio he has manned overtime even as a six months commissioner in his first term. Chief Takeme managed the campaigns and election process, put capacity to bare and delivered to the admiration of Deltans.
Therefore, I have no reservations to entreat Ekwueme, the Road Master and Prosperity-for-all Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa to search no further in his quest for the Burutu Commissioner even at a time, the governor would need unflinching bridge builders. We need people who can bridge the gap and not burn it, Chief Takeme is a bridge builder, he is a rallying point between the elders and the youth with deep sense of direction, a team player, a fast learner with submissive and teachable spirit. Therefore, for the commissioner in Burutu, let the mantra be continuity with Chief Dr Julius Takeme, JP, the statement adds.
Niger-Delta Under- development, NDDC, Other Agencies Has Failed The people-says Yemi Osinbajo
Francis Tayor
Warri--------Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Friday lampooned interventionist agencies including the Niger Delta Development Commission and the Ministry of Niger Delta for failing to meet the development and expectations of the Niger Delta people.
Osibanjo said that President Muhammadu Buhari led federal government would double efforts to enhance the physical development of the oil-bearing communities in the region before the end of their second term tenure.
The Vice President stated this on Friday when he paid a courtesy call on the Ebenana-owei of Ogulagha Kingdom, HRM, Captain Joseph Timiyan at Obotobo 1 in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
He lamented that despite the huge resources that the federal government invests in NDDC, Ministry of Niger Delta and other agencies in the region, the oil bearing communities were still gasping for physical development.
Osinbajo, who was led to the palace by the governor of Delta State, Dr.Ifeanyi Okowa, was in the state to perform the commissioning of a 20.29 KM Obotobo 1, Obotobo 11, Sokebolou – Yokri Roads in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu council area and the Main Axial Road in Okerenkoko, Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West council area.
It was gathered that the 20.29 KM Obotobo 1 and Obotobo 11, Sokebolou– Yokri Road in Ogulagha Kingdom is the longest road to be constructed by any administration in the history of Delta State.
Osinbajo said that to meet the infrastructural gap in the region, the federal government would sit with the state government to determine areas in critical need of development, so as to fast-track development in the oil-rich region.
According to him, “The NDDC in many respect has not met the expectations of the oil-producing states; a lot of money is invested in NDDC and the Ministry of the Niger Delta because the real reason they were created is to speed up the development of oil-rich communities.
“We will sit with the Delta State Governor to look at specific areas to develop in the creeks.”
Ozobo Warns Against Further Disruption of INC Reschelduled Election
Francis Tayor
YENAGOA___Another plot to alter the delegates list used in the recent botched election at Ijaw house, YENAGOA has been uncovered.
Our source revealed that letters had been circulated around traditional rulers to alter the list of delegates in various Ijaw kingdoms, in a view of removing names of perceived persons who are not loyal to do the biding of the political merchants.
The letters were allegedly authored by the same people who compromised the security apparatus in Bayelsa state to invades and disrupt the Saturday 29th June, 2019 INC election as alleged.
The move was alleged to position people who are loyal to the cabal as delegates to vote their preferred candidates uninterrupted.
But reacting to the ugly development, IPDI ,national president comrade Ozobo Austin said that the delegates list used in the June Sturday 29th INC elections remained the authentic list as he warned traditional rulers not to allowed themselves to be cowed or intimidated by people who do not mean well for Ijaw nation.
Ozobo said the move by suspected persons was a flagrant disregard of the decision of the Committee of Ijaw Traditional Rulers and Elders taken in their last meeting, a few days ago in Yenagoa and that bye election should be conducted only for those positions in which winners were not declared , and secondary the original delegate list used for the 29th June election should also be used in the conduct of the bye election.
The group alarmed that the time lines stipulated for people to raise objections on both the list of candidates and delegates for amendment which was earlier published in the election time table was over and that any attempt to doctored the original delegates list would be resisted as the original list was already in the public domain.
It said "We need to also remind ourselves that the task of rebuilding a united, strong and dependable INC, starts with the conduct of a credible INC election, where Ijaw people civil right to chose who should lead them must not be taken for granted"
"It is our interest to put all concerned persons on notice that if this threat to violate the process of a transparent INC election is not checked, Ijaw elders and traditional rulers be held responsible for the consequences of any legitimate action that may befall Ijaw nation"
The activist however appealed to the ELECO and Traditional Rulers and Elders in Ijaw nation not to allowed themselves to be used to perpetrate this Electoral fraud.

Ijaw/Itsekiri Peace And Unity Cup To Hold November 2019
.....As Mulade Calls For Individuals, Corporate Organizations Partnership
Francis Tayor
Warri------- In his efforts to promote peace, unity and talents development among the Ijaws and Itsekiris in Warri, a Niger Delta based Human Rights activist and global peace ambassador, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has revealed the 2019 second edition of the competition yesterday to the public.
This was made known at a press gathering in Warri, where the date for the Ijaw/Itsekeri Peace and unity cup competition, 2019 was officially announced by Ambassador Comrade Mulade Sheriff, National coordinator, Center For Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ
The competition which is also known as the Comrade Mulade Sheriff Peace and Unity Cup,” started in 2017, it was profoundly set up as a critical forum to demonstrate and promote the oneness of these ethnic groups with a long history of conflicts and rivalry.
He noted that his reasons to use the round leather game, which is recognized world wide to foster Peace in his Ijaw/Itsekiri regions, came from his knowledge of Football as an instrument that builds tranquility, cohesion, love and unity.
According to Mulade, “It is the exemplifying nature of football as a strong tool of oneness, and an abridger of ethnic conflicts, that brought about the birth of the Ijaw/Itsekiri Peace and unity cup competition.”
The football competition is also part of the efforts he puts in place to harness football talents in Delta State.
Sheriff, who is a member of the Delta State Football Association Board, ( DFAB ), says the 2nd edition of the annual Comrade Mulade Sheriff Peace and Unity Cup has been scheduled for the 16th to 30th of November 2019, also aimed at discovering young talents in the riverine communities of the State.
Comrade Mulade, in a statement in Warri said the competition will focus on building peaceful coexistence and promoting unity among Ijaw, Itsekiri and Ilaje people in Warri and its environs. He said attention will also be on young players with exceptional talents.
According to him, “the communities will have to pick younger players to represent them because African Grassroots Football Development team will be on ground to select the best players.” He said they should therefore not go out of their communities to hire players, so that gifted youths in the riverine areas can be discovered.
He warned against winning at all costs which has badly destroyed football at the local and national levels in Nigeria.
He said this year's competition would hold in two venues to give a sense of belonging to the three tribes, with one venue each in Itsekiri and Ijaw towns to further cement the relationship among them. He noted that this year's event would be played on a knockout basis featuring teams from Ijaw, Itsekiri and Ileja communities within Warri and its environs.
Meanwhile, Comrade Sheriff has appealed to well-meaning individuals and corporate organizations to partner with the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, in the sponsorship of the IJAW/ITSEKIRI PEACE & UNITY CUP, to help promote peaceful coexistence, build bridges of unity, attract development and create enabling environment for Deltans, particularly multi-national oil and gas companies operating within the area.
He noted that companies and individuals partnering in this great drive to uplift the youths through football will be welcomed. In Sheriff’s statement, “Partnership will make the competition bigger and more laudable, noting that it would be glorious on their parts to discover and build talents which will be epochal in communities where they do business.
