While the amazing Bride, Miss Powei Joy Bozimo paternally hailed from the great Bozimo family of Azebiri community in Bomadi LGA, and maternally from the Ombe family of Tuomo Town in Burutu LGA both of Delta State.

The introduction ceremony was moreover a gathering for the display of the unique diverse cultural background between the ljaw ethnic nationality and that of the ltsekiris of Warri kingdom.

*Building Legacies in Stone: A call for Pa Edwin Clark OFR, CON Immortalization* 

As the former National Youth Leader of the South-South People’s Conference (SSOPEC), under the esteemed leadership of the late Harold Dappa Biriye and Chief Edwin Clark as Vice, I had the privilege of working closely with these two irrepressible leaders.

I gained invaluable knowledge from these nationalist figures, tireless advocates for the Niger Delta people and their true identity, who relentlessly championed equity and justice for the indigenous communities inhabiting the coastal territories and beyond, where Nigeria's abundant oil and gas resources are deposited. 

The recent passing of Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, OFR, CON, my advisor, mentor, and father figure for many years, was a profound and unexpected shock, both personally and globally. 

I deeply missed Chief Edwin Clark, our national leader, on emotional, psychological, physical, and personal levels. I extend my heartfelt condolences to everyone, particularly the immediate family, on the demise of my father figure, who I accompanied on numerous journeys across the North and other regions. 

Pa Clark was an institution in himself, an exemplary leader, and a true national figure for the Ijaw-Niger Delta people. He also served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) worldwide. 

Undoubtedly, Pa Clark deserves a monumental and befitting immortalization. No sacrifice is too great to properly honor his legacy. Therefore, I recommend the following: 

 1. National Recognition: The Nigerian state should immortalize his image alongside that of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe on the five hundred naira note, mirroring the dual-image format of the one thousand naira note. 

2. Local Content Tower: The Local Content Tower headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, should be renamed in his honor, recognizing his tireless advocacy for the rights of the oil-producing region. 

3. Edwin Clark Foundation and Lecture Series: The Bayelsa, Delta, and Rivers State governments, in collaboration with the BRACED Commission and the Nigerian government, should establish and support the Edwin Clark Foundation. 

This foundation should organize an annual lecture series, the Edwin Clark Award and Lecture, to recognize distinguished leaders with leadership awards and to perpetuate the memory of his life and contributions. 

4. Clark University Monuments: Already the late sage established an existing university in Kiagbodo, his home town, so the Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers State governments should each construct structures, such as hostels, at the University, serving as enduring monuments to his recognition by these states. 

5. NDDC Support: The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) should conduct a needs assessment of Edwin Clark University and provide essential amenities to the institution, considering Pa Clark's pivotal role, alongside the late Harold Dappa Biriye, in the establishment of the NDDC.

In conclusion, while a befitting burial is essential, it is not sufficient to truly honor Pa Clark's legacy. These recommendations are crucial to ensure his tireless and fearless advocacy for the region and the nation, and his unwavering commitment to speaking truth to power, are permanently memorialized. Without such monumental immortalization, his immense contributions risk being diminished over time.

The families of Omula of Oporoza Town and Ifitimo of Kokodiagbene Town, both of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West LGA, Delta State, have announced the funeral rites of their beloved matriarch, Ma. Pinapina Otuaro (née Omula).

A renowned Niger Delta human/environmental rights activst, Comrade Austin Ozobo, Dr. Perez Bibakefie (CEO) lduwiniVoice Newspaper, Hon. Isaiah lngo and three others narrowly escaped death and abduction by Fulani herdsmen along the popular Orhor/Bomadi road in Delta State.

The heartbreaking terrifying experience occured on February 22, 2025 while the victims where returning from a burial ceremony in Torugbene Town, Burutu local government area of the state.

This is happening due to the inability of the state government to provide adequate security for the life and prosperity's of her citizens across the state.

It is also on record that the riverine dwellers in the state has time without number called on the state government led the His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to dualize Orhor/Bomadi road which the governor pays less attention, thereby giving room to criminal elements, especially Fulani herdsmen to laid siege on the road to carryout their nefarious activities in robbing, maiming, raping, killing and abducting residents and commuters plying the road over the years.

Narrating his ordeal in the hands of the dreaded Fulani herdsmen, Comrade Austin Ozobo who is the CEO Congress Newspaper and the President of ljaw Publishers Forum, lPF noted that the incident took place close to Agadama community at about 11:PM on the evening of February 22, 2025.

According to him, said on their way returning from a burial, their Prado Geep tyre bursted at the location. In the process of contacting a mechanic from Orhor community to fixed it, suddenly a ray of torch light shines on their eyes by the Fulani herdsmen with AK-47 riffles numbering six.

The group commander immediately ordered them to lie on the ground facing down and possessed them of their belongings including phones, money, ATM cards and other valuables. They where further asked to unlock their phones in which one of the herdsmen lashed Austin Ozobo with cutlass at his back two times due to delay in unlocking his phone.

Ozobo stated that the operation lasted for over 1hr without any sign of security patrol team, leaving them to their fate in the hands of the dreaded herdsmen." It took the grace and divine intervention of God to save our lives as the militia group commander order his men to leave us having successfully robbed us of our belongings", the statement added.

Meanwhile, they where lucky that the herdsmen refers to them as a normal street Yahoo boys who are hustling to survive, thereby spearing their lives to go and hustle for money to purchase another phones.

Late Barr. Benjamin Yeigagha for Burial March 8, at Ayakoromo Town in Delta State

The family of Late Chief Barrister Benjamin Founkoro Yeigagha has announced that the burial ceremony of their beloved patriarch will take place on March 8th, 2025.

The ceremony is scheduled to hold at Ayakoromo Federated Community in Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State.

Recalls that the respected member of the legal community from Akugbene and Ayakoromo communities died in a fatal accident that occurred around 7pm on Monday, November 18, 2024.

The accident happened while Barr. Yeigagha was returning home from court, and his vehicle was hit by another car. Despite efforts to save his life, he sadly passed away at 4:17am while being rushed to Lily Clinic in Warri.

The family invites friends, relatives, and well-wishers to join them as they bid farewell to their dear father and son, Chief Barr. B.F Yeigagha.

According to Engr. Henry Yeigagha, brother to the deceased, "all are welcome to attend and pay their respects to the memory of Late Chief Barr. Benjamin Founkoro Yeigagha."

The burial ceremony promises to be a celebration of the life and legacy of the late Chief Barrister, who will be deeply missed by his loved ones and the communities.

The Departure of a Colossus, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark_Obodo Elites Council of Ayakoromo Mourns

On February 17, 2025, the prominent leader of the Niger Delta people, Senator Dr. Chief E.K. Clark [OFR, CON], passed away at the age of 97.

Since his passing, tributes, accolades, and sorrow from individuals, groups, and organizations have flooded in. We, the OBODO ELITES COUNCIL OF AYAKOROMO, are no exception.

We extend our condolences to the people of the Niger Delta, the Ijaw nation, and especially the Bekederemo-Fuludu family of Kiagbodo in Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State.

What stood out to us were the heartfelt tributes from unexpected sources where he had fought for our collective cause—such as the Presidency, the Federal Legislature, and beyond the Niger Delta. This only affirms that during his lifetime, Chief E.K. Clark championed a righteous cause.

As former Nigerian President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan stated, “We are all saying the same thing, using different words to describe the foremost leader.” He was undoubtedly a remarkable man. Regardless of one's opinion of him, his greatness was unquestionable.

On his 90th birthday, seven years ago, Chief E.K. Clark declared that he was ready to depart, waiting in the departure hall with his luggage, but as long as the oppressors remained, he would continue to fight for justice until the end. A commitment he honoured until his passing on February 17, 2025.

Chief E.K. Clark's legacy was institutional. His remarkable memory, unmatched audibility, and versatile nature made him a revered figure. He was not only intelligent but also courageous and direct. He was willing to engage with all, including the corrupt, while exposing corruption with documented evidence. He had the rare ability to excel both in long endurance and short sprints. His death is akin to losing an Olympic gold medal for an athlete—a profound loss.

Despite never holding a political office, Chief E.K. Clark was widely recognized as the leading figure in the diverse and often fragmented Niger Delta, especially among the Ijaw people. His transformational leadership revealed the shortcomings of transactional leaders and made him a case study in leadership.

Given who he was and what he represented, his journey inevitably stirred controversies. That was the hallmark of an enigmatic, transformational leader—one who fought for society at large, not personal gain.

As a defender of the marginalized, the oppressed, and the Niger Delta, his adversaries should forgive him as we stand accountable for the battles he fought.

We urge the Ijaw nation to be cautious and avoid allowing opportunists or those with lesser credentials to claim his mantle, which would only diminish his legacy.

The OBODO ELITES COUNCIL stands ready to participate in any events following his burial rites.

May God grant Chief E.K. Clark eternal rest in Heaven.

Warri ____ Following the positive impacts created by the lndependent Grassroot liberators (IGL) activities in Delta State over the years, some admirers of the social political pressure group originated from Warri South-West Local Government Area of the state has identified with the formidable body in order to contribute their quota in the advocacy for good governance for the common man in the society.

On Sunday February 23, 2025 was a remarkable and historic day for Engr. Gift lmoun Tonlagha alias King of Water Money, Hon. Benedict Lawyer-owei, Gen. Ruth Ezetu alias Queen of the Girls, Hon. Amend Fullpower, Comrade Jerry Ago among others as they officially joined the lndependent Grassroot liberators movement.

Addressing the new members during the induction ceremony in warri on Sunday, the group National President, Amb. Mamamu Bene Youkore welcome them with a joyful heart, while admonishing them to follow the doctrines of the body in speaking truth to power without compromise.

He assured the new members of the group's adequate protection in the cause of carrying out their objectives, stressing that IGL ideology is capitalized on constructive criticism of government and political office holders in terms of bad leadership and otherwise.

In his reaction, the National Coordinator of the group, Hon. Company Yerinbowei Felix, fondly called YCom embraced the newly inducted members with a rousing ovation of the group's commitment in installing peoples oriented servant leaders in elective positions across Delta State.

Barrister S Smooth popularly known as the Paddle of Niger Delta has expressed displeasure and dissatisfaction over the deplorable condition of the strategic Orhor/Bomadi road that links ljaw and Urhobo riverine communities in Delta and Bayelsa States.

Smooth made the statement over the weekend while plying the road to perform at a show in Torugbene Town, Burutu local government area of the state regretted the negligence of the Delta State Government to engage a reputable construction giant companies like Julius Berger or Setraco to do a lasting standard job on the road for the people of Bomadi and others instead decided to use unknown company Niger Cat to do a substandard job on the very important project that will not last the test of time.

He expressed disappointment on the ljaw past and present political office holders for not speaking out for the people towards the dualization and speedy completion of the project rather keeping mute in their comfort zones leaving the common man to die daily on the bad Orhor/Bomadi road.

Smooth use this medium to call on ljaw traditional Rulers, political office holders in the House of Reps and Senate, State House of Assembly and local council chairmen to rise up and take drastic action by drawing the attention of the government led by His Excellency, Rt. ORHOR/BOMANDI ROAD, A CALL FOR CONCERN 

Let this be a wake-up call to our perceived leaders in government, that the ORHOR/BOMANDI road being handled by Niger Cat Construction Company is extremely below standard. My experience going through it recently was heartbroken. My curiosity is that, what is Niger Cat? How many roads has Niger Cat done in Delta state? What happened to the big companies like SETRACO and others known for great construction works in Delta state and beyond?

This is why I can't keep my mouth shut, for a real man dies the day he keeps quiet while his people have been enslaved? I can't be a slave to such actions at all. For this is what we see when it comes to Izon matters, always treated as second class, even here in our own state amongst our brothers in the Niger Delta.

To continue with the deception, I saw a stupid white man in the middle of the road as if all is right. Painfully this is one road linking to our rural communities, yet our leaders past and present could not speak of the injustice done to it. Even when we had our own son in the almighty Ministry of Niger Delta. In my silence I cried, who did this to us thinking of the many lives lost on that bad road. 

My heart bleeds when I saw the road with the same political tactics of working without finishing. This is not right. This is wickedness on the parts of our leaders who see this wrong but decided to look the other way.

For this non- challant attitude of employing stupid companies without dignity, we have our Ayakoromo bridge lying there like a woman rejected by her husband. Close to it, is the Gbaregolo bridge cut into two, with the same careless abandoned.

It is my appeal to our leaders in the Senate, House of Reps, locl government Chairman, Kings, and Leaders of Thought to rise up to their responsibilities or history will spite on their graves.

May the spirit of Pa E. K. Clark rise among us!
