Siasia Speaks On FIFA Ban, Tells Fans To Keep Calm, Says The Matter Is Currently Being Handled By My Lawyer

Siasia Speaks On FIFA Ban, Tells Fans To Keep Calm, Says The Matter Is Currently Being Handled By My Lawyer

Francis Tayor

Abuja____Former Super Eagles Coach Samson Siasia on Saturday has appealed for calm over his life ban by the World Football Governing body, FIFA, on Friday.

Siasia was banned for life from the game following a match-fixing probe by FIFA.

Siasia, who spoke in Abuja through an associate, Opukiri Jones-Ere, at the main bowl of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, said the matter was currently being looked into by his lawyer.
The former Super Eagles forward said he was hopeful of a positive conclusion of the matter.

“We want to please plead with everyone to be calm as the issue has been handed over to a lawyer and he is looking at the case.

“So, at this moment, Siasia will be unavailable to speak to the press.

“I want to also appeal to you all to be patient with us, considering the fact that he is already going through so much stress with regards to his mother’s kidnap which we are dealing with at the moment.

“We appreciate you all for your concerns and solidarity messages which have received from the onset of this situation.
“So, my kind appeal is that you all give us some time for the lawyer to look into the case and as soon as possible, hopefully by next week, we will come up with our position and further action to be taken on the issue.

“On behalf of the family of Siasia, we want to once again thank you for your concerns and we pray that this will end well,” he said.
FIFA had said in a statement on Friday that the adjudicatory chamber of their independent Ethics Committee found the 51-year-old Siasia guilty.
He was “guilty of having accepted that he will receive bribes in relation to manipulation of matches in violation of FIFA Code of Ethics.”

Siasia played 51 times as a striker for the Nigerian national team and later coached various national youth sides before his first spell as senior coach in 2010.

His case is the latest to emerge from FIFA’s long-running investigation into the activities of Singaporean Wilson Raj Perumal, who FIFA has called a “known match fixer”.
He has admitted such activity in several interviews.
FIFA said Siasia was banned for life “from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international levels.”
Siasia was also fined CHF 50,000 (N18.6 million).

The former Nigerian international was appointed Super Eagles head coach from 2010 to Oct. 2011 and he was reappointed in 2016.

Amnesty: South-South Ijaw Youths To Dokubo, Your Time Is Over, Stop Hiring Crumb Eaters To Sing Praises On Social Media For Your Retainment In Office

Amnesty: South-South Ijaw Youths To Dokubo, Your Time Is Over, Stop Hiring Crumb Eaters To Sing Praises On Social Media For Your Retainment In Office

Urges President Buhari To Appoint Delta Ijaw To Succeed Dokubo

Francis Tayor

Warri ____ The South-South Ijaw Political Youth Forum SSIPYF, has tell the Coordinator of Presidential Amnesty Office, Prof.Charles Quaker Dokubo to stop hiring youths to protest in order to deceive President Muhammadu Buhari to retain him in office for another term.

The youths stressed that Charles Dokubo has failed the people of Niger Delta and that there is no amount of hiring journalists to sing praises for him on the social media will save him from vacating that office. It is the turn of Delta Ijaw to produce the next Amnesty Coordinator.

Addressing the Press in Warri, the National President of South-South Ijaw Youth Political Forum, Amb.Goddey Tam Arerebo said; " Prof Charles Dokubo has not just ridiculed his personality but has abuse humanity by capitalizing on the low mindedness and emptiness of stomach of some group of greenhorns to extol his vain worthiness when he was in office has the coordinator of the amnesty program through protest and frequent media show up in the praise singing style.

Because of his desperation to retain the office as the Amnesty boss and also to hoax  President Buhari to reappoint him as the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Program, Dokubo has  resulted to buying bags of rice when it's not even Christmas and paying huge amount of money to some government agencies in a bid to retain his office and was openly disgrace by some of the agencies when they refused his offer and ordered him to come carry his bags of rice because they where aware of his mission."

"Amb Tam reiterated that the desperate desire of Dokubo to retain office has made him a roaring lion walking about seeking whom he may use, and has so' capitalized on the empty stomach of some ignorant group of greenhorns (crumb eaters) to march out in protest and continuous Media Press publications.

It is disturbing to see how desperate Dokubo has become just to retain office when he knows his hour has long past and it's the turn of the delta ljaws.

It's on this note we want to advice prof Charles Dokubo that, people has also occupied that seat as coordinator in that office and wasn't given a second chance not minding how credible their services was. This was so as to give other deserving person an opportunity to serve
just as he was given the opportunity by others so he had to give someone else the opportunity to serve as well."

" We also want to advice Dokubo to stop hiring helpless people to defend his greed on the social media and street protest.

We therefore, uses this medium to call on His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari to ignore the fake and deceitful images played before him by Prof Charles Dokubo and go ahead on his quest to appoint another ljaw patriot from Delta State to take over from him.

Charles Dokubo has nothing new to offer this program, rather he sees the office as a means to accrue wealth for himself and family."

Pipeline Surveillance Job: We're Running Out Of Patience, N'Delta Ex-Agitators Tells Buhari, Dokubo

...Appeals To FG To Immediately Implements The Agreement

Following peace meetings held by relevant stakeholders and ex-agitators in the Niger Delta to persuade the boys to lay down their arms for smooth production of oil and gas in the region for the past three years during the era of Brig.General Paul Boroh no implementation of the said agreement reached till date.

According to the ex-agitators, the pipeline jobs agreed upon to be given to them after laying down their arms which will be included in  the  expanded presidential Amnesty Programme to embrace peace in order for free flow of oil and gas production, have not come to them hence they are running out of patience and are appealing to the federal government and the Amnesty Coordinator, relevant Security Agencies to  intervene to urge the government to do the needful as quickly as possible.

The Peretorogbene community leader called on the country's Vice President, Prof.Yemi Osinbajo, Professor Charles Dokubo and other relevant stakeholders who have been involved in sustaining peace and harmonious relationship between the Niger Delta Agitators with oil and gas companies operating in the Niger Delta to act fast in order to rekindle the hearts of the youth in the area and fulfill their agreement reached before now for progress and trust.

Again, Delta Coastal Communities Appeals To Gov.Okowa To Create CADA, Urges DTHA To Consider People's Bill To Establish Agency

Francis Tayor

Speaking on behalf of the group, a Delta born environmental and human rights activist, Comrade Sheriff Mulade urged Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the Delta State House of Assembly to establish CADA towards giving indigenes of the area a sense of belonging in terms of development.

Comrade Mulade who spoke with newsmen at Obotobo 1 Community in Burutu Local Government Area noted that CADA would address issues of housing, infrastructural   development, portable drinking water, good roads, sanitation and commercial fishing, on a better platform.

He commended Governor Okowa for his infrastructural development efforts in the riverine communities of Burutu and Warri South West Local Government Areas in his first term. He said the people need an agency that will focus on the development of coastal communities beyond Governor Okowa because of the particular nature of the area.

He reiterated that no amount of government political appointments can completely eradicate the development deficits of the Riversides, which are the marine economic base of the State across the Itsekiri, Ijaw, Urhobo and Isoko ethnic groups that are anxiously waiting for Governor Okowa and the State House of Assembly to act on their demands.

Oghenesivbe Commends Gov Okowa On Human Capital Development Strides In Delta

Oghenesivbe Commends  Gov Okowa On Human Capital Development Strides In Delta

...Sets To Co-Author A Book Titled : Strategic Communication In Democratic Governance With Prof Godwin Oboh

Francis Tayor

Lagos_____ Ace political communication strategist and Fellow of the Civilian Institute of Democratic Administration, FCIDA, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that materials presented at the first edition of the Delta Strategic Political Communication Workshop held in May, this year, shall form substantial chapters in a book titled "Fundamentals Of Strategic Communication In Democratic Governance" to be coauthored by Prof Godwin Oboh, the Chief Trainer and Head of Mass Communication Department, Delta State University, Abraka.

The immediate past Executive Assistant to Governor Okowa on Communications made this known during a public affairs radio programme in Lagos, on Monday August 12, 2019.

He disclosed that Oboh as the lead author shall expand the resource materials such that would add depth and comparative analysis of chains of events and developments since the advent of constitutional democracy in 1999, so as to further enhance knowledge and capacity building for those deeply involved or engaged in regular media and communication activities in government.

He assured that the book will also serve  as a reference encyclopedia for media practitioners whose professional services include but not limited to press relations, media management, political advertising and campaign management; and as a guide to freshers in strategic communication especially young graduates who are desirous of building enduring and unique career in writing via social media platforms.

Oghenesivbe stressed the need for professionalism in handling hate speech, fake or false news, biased criticisms and crisis management by spokespersons, media and communication assistants in government and political parties; which the book shall dwell on extensively.

He thanked Delta State Government for sponsoring the 2019 three-day strategic communication workshop held at Orchid Hotel Asaba from May 15-17, with 140 participants in attendance including key media and communication persons at state and local government levels.

"Governor Okowa's passion for human capital development made it possible for 140 participants to benefit from a robust capacity building strategic communication workshop, first of its kind in Delta State, in more than 25 years.

"One of the major gains of the workshop is that it brought sanity to social media platforms, because participants from the social media segment came to the realisation after the workshop that falsehood, black propagandas, insults and abuses, radical criticism without corresponding facts and figures contributes nothing to the advancement of democracy and good governance in our collective quest to build a Stronger Delta State.

"The credit must go to the governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, who strongly believe that non confrontational interface in partisan politics, between government officials and the governed will better promote unity and peaceful coexistence irrespective of political affiliations and interests.

"Once the book is published in few months from now, but not exceeding October this year, it will be launched and participants at the 2019 workshop shall be entitled to a copy each, free of charge," Oghenesivbe said.

It will be recalled that the 2019 Strategic Political Communication Workshop was organised by the office of the Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications in collaboration with the office of the Secretary to Delta State Government.

The three days workshop was declared opened by the former Secretary to Delta State Government, Rt Hon Festus Ovie Agas, with Delta Head of Service, Mr Reginald Bayoko, Commissioners for Information, Economic Planning, then Commerce and Industry now Trade and Investments; Communication Manager, Government House, Jackson Ekwugum, CPS to Governor now Information Commissioner, Hon Charles Aniagwu, former EA Orientation to Governor now DG, Bureau of Orientation, Barrister Eugene Azuka Uzum, Facilitators and 140 participants in attendance. It was a huge success.

Amnesty: Ijaw Mothers Wants Second Chance For Prof Charles Dokubo, Urges Niger Deltans To Support Him To Succeed

Amnesty: Ijaw Mothers Wants Second Chance For Prof Charles Dokubo, Urges Niger Deltans To Support Him To Succeed

Francis Tayor

Warri_____ A group under the auspices of Ijaw Women Love and Care Group has called for a second chance for the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Prof.Charles Quaker Dokubo in order to continue the good works he has being doing in the Amnesty Office.

The group in a Press Statement today at Warri signed by its Spokesperson, Madam Ebikemefa Warikeme stressed that, Niger Deltans should support and encourage their own son Prof.Charles Dokubo to succeed rather than trying to pull him down.

According to the Ijaw Mothers said; " Lately, media reports have emerged calling for the replacement of the Special Adviser/Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Prof Charles Dokubu.

While are awaiting the justifications for such calls, it is important to offer this piece of advice to the Ijaws who are bend on pulling their fellow ljaws down.

The attacks on Prof Charles Dokubo, especially from the Ijaws is becoming worrisome. Prof Charles Dokubo is a son of the soil.

There is an adage that says, if one’s family does not bring you out, nobody can harm the person. But that is what is going on in Ijawland where Ijaw people are trying to pull down Prof Charles Dokubo.

It is a disgrace on the entire Ijaw nation. The habit of not encouraging ourselves is very wrong. Nobody is above mistake.

The mistakes we feel that he has been made can be corrected. If the entire Ijaw nation is encouraging him, he would be a better person. Love conquers everything and if we show love to him, he would be a better person. We need to encourage him, not to pull him down.

There is the North East Development Commission, NEDC, and no Niger Deltan can get close to it.

Unlike the Niger Deltans, those covered by the NEDC love themselves and protect their own. Can't we replicate that ?

Sadly, the reverse is the case in the Presidential Amnesty Office which seems to belong to the whole world.

It is so because we don’t cooperate. Let us show some love to our own.

Prof Dokubo is an academia. He didn’t lobby for the position, rather God gave it to him.

We should think about this and realise that God chose Prof Dokubo out of millions of Niger Delta indigenes.

Unfortunately, our people are fighting the innocent man. I am appealing that we should give him a CHANCE. As a result of the attacks, Prof Dokubo feels the Ijaw don’t like him.

We have to let him know that we love him and we are going to stand by him.

President Muhammadu Buhari, who appointed him, had his reasons for doing that.

We have to be very careful the way we are attacking Prof Dokubo because the world is watching.

This same treatment was given to Prof Dokubo's predecessor, General Paul Boro, rtd.

They eventually succeeded in pulling him down.

Now, we want to pull Prof Dokubo down. What do we want ? Do we want God to come down physically and present Jesus Christ to us as the head of Amnesty Office ?

If that happens, we are still going to have a problem. If we don’t wash our dirty linen outside, nobody would rubbish us.

As a people, who provide the wealth of this nation, we should behave like one.

A big man should behave like a big man. It is incumbent on us to respect ourselves as people who provide the wealth of the nation, instead of sponsoring publications against ourselves.

People should wait for their turn. The late King Robert Ebizimo said, “Eyemene Efiefie” meaning that everything has time and season. Unknowingly, the Ijaw people attacking Prof Dokubo, has succeeded in making him feel as if the northerners have his interest at heart more than Ijaw people.

Now, I want to send a message to Prof Dokubo. Sir, this is just a piece of advice to you as the head of the Amnesty of Office.

The office was established as a result of the efforts and blood of the youths of the Niger Delta. The people of the region have the powers to keep you there and also to remove you. You should be guided by this reality.

The Niger Delta people have the powers to make your appointment useless if they make the region unstable. That is why the Niger Delta mothers are urging you to give listening ears to the Ijaw and Niger Deltans as a whole. Nobody hates you. They love you but they are correcting you wrongly. We want you to also give the Ijaw and the Niger Deltans a second chance.

I saw publications that called for the sack and replacement of Prof Dokubo. These kinds of publications do not portray the Ijaws in a good light. What is happening is a disgrace to the Ijaw nation. It is for this reason that Ijaw Women Love and Care Group are calling on every Ijaw person to support Prof Charles Dokubo. If he succeeds, the glory won't be for him but the Ijaw nation. If he fails, it would be a collective failure. In light of these, the only option for the Ijaws is to help him succeed, the statement adds. "

Fear, Insecurity Rules Buhari's Government, Says Basil Okoh

Fear, Insecurity Rules Buhari's Government, Says Basil Okoh

Francis Tayor

Fear and a deep sense of insecurity is driving the pronouncements and actions of the Muhammadu Buhari Government.

It is becoming increasingly amazing how arbitrarily key personnel and spokesmen of Government respond to these fears that keen observers interpret to arise from a perceived feeling of illegitimacy. This inner sense of insecurity and fear ruling the Givernment is believed to be obviously linked to the emerging truths emanating from the electoral tribunal.

Muhammadu Buhari's much vaunted integrity has been taken to the cleaners and the dirt and stench has polluted the entire nation. Does anyone know of any world leader whose educational certificates has been so shamelessly assailed as Muhammadu Buhari's WASCE certificate?

We all know that the former president of South Africa Jacob Zuma never had a formal education but he didn’t present forged certificates to the electorate of South Africa to prove his worthiness. He presented himself as a self educated man and he won on his integrity and remarkably proved himself afterwards.

Does anyone know of any other public officer anywhere but Nigeria who would remain in public office after all the bludgeoning of his integrity on the forged certificates saga as Buhari has received?

Arising from all these, Buhari's Government no longer has the confidence and self assurance to take bold actions needed to rule a progressive nation, no matter what bold front they present to the public. Government is now ruled by fear and self doubt.

This pervading fear is arising from a deep sense of unpopularity, infamy and insecurity which leads to an enveloping sense of vulnerability. It is this feeling of vulnerability and insecurity that is guiding the Government’s every action and responses to perceived threats.

There is now the pervasive feeling that Buhari didn’t have the basic qualification to stand for President and didn’t win the presidency through a fair ballot. The key personnel in his Government know it and are ashamed of the loss of the high ground once associated with Buhari's integrity. They are also afraid of possible consequences and fallouts from a pre-bended ballot.

Anyone watching the management of the recent Shia uprising will be surprised at the speed Government compromised the leaders of the Shia Movement and promptly agreed to court ruling granting the application  of the Shia leader el Zakhzaky an overseas treatment for wounds sustained in the attack on his home since 2015. Government had refused him the same request for four years.

This for a man who has been under detention, granted bail by the courts numerous times but refused freedom by Government for all of four years. The rallies and solidarity actions across the world, London, Canada, Australia, Iran, United States, even Syria and Palestine for the Shia in Nigeria has shown that el Zakhzaky and the Shia in Nigeria are no longer walking alone. And Buhari is afraid.

It is therefore obvious that Government panicked and just acted out fear of the looming uprising and possible mayhem and damage that the Shia would cause in the entire North and the damaging support it will garner across the world.

In the same week, word came from the Army high command of the conviction by a military court of 54 SOLDIERS for the offence of “cowardice” and disobedience of a valid order to “engage the enemy” (in this case BOKO HARAM).  The penalty for all as spelt out by the report will be death by execution.

You wonder which other army in the world will choose to execute by firing squad,  three platoons of it’s own soldiers for the offence of cowardice, without asking questions of itself. This is happening in an army where soldiers and officers in videos and reports complain bitterly of a sorry lack of weapons and ammo to engage the enemy, where in Metele in 2018, more than 100 soldiers were reportedly killed in a single attack by a rag tag force.

How will other soldiers seeing their own comrades-in-arms die by firing squad be motivated to continue the fight against the enemy?

Still in the same week, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), one of the world’s most respected newspapers, never given to sensationalism, reported that the Nigerian Army was keeping a Cemetry near Maiduguri where it secretly, at night, bury over a thousand soldiers killed in the War in the North East. Soldiers whose deaths are never reported or recorded. People have gone ahead to speculate that these unreported deaths are of soldiers of a certain faith and from a certain part of the country. The army has made a denial of this grim report.

Fear is also ruling the actions of Government as it contemplates and take unsure steps on Cattle Colonies, RUGA, River Banks or in whatever names they come. Government is tentative and fearful of the political and security consequences of it’s actions. Government withdraws its propositions when it faces opposition and goes back to find another name, another cover for it’s diabolic call.

A Government ruled by fear can never achieve and is eventually taken hostage by it's principal officers to feed their greed. These officers play on the fear of the principal and manipulate him to  grab more power and money for themselves. Remember al-Mustapha and General Sanni Abacha? At a time, Abacha became a prisoner to Mustapha and was quarantined and rendered completely out of reach and out of relevance in Aso Villa. And so he had to keep himself busy with Indian Prostitutes.

Anytime you see Governments detaining and jailing people arbitrarily, it is acting out of fear. Fear of the consequences of the illegalities it commits. Fear of the people’s challenge to its unpopularity. Fear. Fear. Fear. Insecure Governments grow into dictatorships and dictators are the most insecure leaders.

The illiteracy and lack of competence of key Government personnel, operators and drivers results in incoherence and bad policies, lack of planning, knee jerk implementation of badly formulated policies, grandstanding, and stupendous costs attached to governance.

The Goodluck Jonathan Government stared down and lived through the November 2014 , “revolution” conducted in Ojota Park and Abuja without arresting a straggling SOWORE, Tinubu, Soyinka, Pat Utomi or Nasir El Rufa'I who were all jostling for space and prominence with Muhammadu Buhari during the “Ojota Park Revolution”.

The revolution was to become the biggest political con game that brought Muhammadu Buhari to power. Now his fellow conspirators and “co-revolutionaries” have become enemies and big threats to his regime of forgeries, fear and incompetence. It is true after all that “revolutions have a way of eating up their own kind”, a la Stalin eating up Trotsky.
