PAP: Otuaro's appointment was done on merit, not to suit any interest_IPDI

PAP: Otuaro's appointment was done on merit, not to suit any interest_IPDI

Following a call by an alleged coalition of Niger Delta Civil Society groups for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Security Adviser to appoint a replacement of the current amnesty administrator, Dr Dennis Burutu Otuaro, the Ijaw People's Development Initiative, IPDI has urged the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ignore such inimical, mischievous and divisive calls by sponsored groups who were hell bent to distract the new amnesty coordinator of his smart policies and programmes.

This was contained in a statement signed by its National president Comrade Ozobo Austin with a copy of it sent to newsmen in Warri,  Delta State on Saturday.
The IPDI's president said there's no existing coalition of such nature, adding that no responsible coalition would call for replacement of the new amnesty administrator barely a month of appointment.

The IPDI maintained that it was enemies of Niger Delta that were behind the call, stressing that they should promote peace and development in the region and not to promote rancor in the region.

According to IPDI, the appointment of Dr Otuaro as PAP administrator is a square peg in a square hole,  insisting that the appointment was not meant to suit any interest but was done at its merit.

The Ijaw rights group said Dr Dennis Otuaro is very much accessible and the right man for the job, adding that his desire to reposition the amnesty programme to benefit the delegates of PAP should be embraced by all well-meaning stakeholders of the region.

He narrated that the purported coalition led by one Dennis Church Nako Francis spokesman, Elder Harrison Omini and others were hungry youth sponsored by enemies to distract the new amnesty boss from implementing his good programmes and policies.

Ozobo urged sponsors of attacks against the Amnesty boss to spend their money to feed the hungry youth they were inciting against their brother, instead of wasting it to look for cheap and unpopular recognition.

He emphasised that no well-meaning Niger Delta youth would call for a replacement of the just inaugurated administration of the presidential Amnesty board, stressing that they were a huge disappointment to the region if truly they are members of Niger Delta.
IPDI further asserted that suspected failed stakeholders who were equally looking for the appointment of PAP administrator were behind attacks against Dr Dennis Otuaro.

Ozobo advised such individuals to repent and join hands with Dr Dennis Otuaro to reposition the amnesty programme, rather than sponsoring attacks against him.

IPDI called on the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and NSA to ignore the activities of the faceless coalition seeking cheap recognition.

Ozobo urged PAP administrator, Dr Dennis Burutu Otuaro, not to be distracted by enemies of the region, sponsoring mischief against him, appealing that he should go ahead in a good spirits to reposition and implement his good policies and programmes for the amnesty programme.

Sober reflection as service of songs held in honour of late Jane Ukori in Warri

Sober reflection as service of songs held in honour of late Jane Ukori in Warri

There was a sober reflection among sympathizers as late Pastor Jane Ukori service of songs held on Thursday at her husband's residence in oilfield road, Effurun, Warri Delta State.

The event was graced by personalities, captains of industry and top government functionaries.
However, family, friends and well-wishers described the late pastor Jane as a woman of valor and God fearing.

It was gathered that she affected many lives, providing humanitarian services, doing charity and lifting up young and old who came her way.

As a servant in the temple of God in Holy Jesus Mission, she was said to be faithful, diligent, humble, hardworking and dedicated her time to God.
Among tributes, her husband Ambassador Jude Ukori wrote, "Nothing can dim the light that shines from within.

"It all happened in my presence but it looked like a very bizarre nightmare till date. The thing l feared and dreaded most that I will not wish my enemy had happened to me again. I am in my extreme state of devastation and grief not knowing where to take my bearing from.

"My lovely wife, whom I fondly called "my sweetheart", you had at all times and purpose been my immediate source of inspiration and strength to recoup from several ordeals and setbacks I experienced in the past as we journeyed together.

"It is apparently less than a year now that I suffered what I thought should have been the worst pain of my life. I was wrong, here is another devastating blow! Whom do I turn to for comfort on this perilous time?

"I could have stopped without a word further but I am indebted to my sweetheart, my angel, my prophetess, my friend, my sister, mother and wife. It is a journey of 22 years of love with its attendant challenges and odds,

"but you stood by me and fought together and sailed through in love. We were at the verge of rest from our daily ups and downs and we had actually planned to retire in comfort as we slowed down on our daily toils, so that we could begin to reap the fruits of many years of hard labour we put in together, but the wicked devil struck to snatch you away.

"The world is indeed unfair!
You were such a loving and caring wife that best described the bible context of the word a "Tomuous woman". You stood behind me in every facet of life to achieve the great things you desire in the man of your dreams. You were so bold, courageous, industrious and resilient with fear and faith in God. You were a prophetess to the core, a peace maker and a counselor. You have been very supportive in every sense of the word. You were a cheerful giver per excellence, being hospitable and offering care for the needy was a core value you cherished.

"You were an effective planner and organizer who handled every knotty challenge selflessly. You always thrived to put a smile on the face of every one that came your way, a trait which earned you the mother figure to the envy of other women.
"You wanted the best for our kids and also the wards in your care without discrimination. You held back nothing good from whoever deserves it. What an excellent woman you were but you did not live long to enjoy the fruits of your hard labour.

"My sweetheart, I remember our last discussion on how you needed to start your dream private business to avoid the hustle and bustle of working as a salary earner, coupled with the fact that you needed to give more attention to your health and the children.

"On that ill-fated day, I took you to the clinic, I never thought that the illness was going to teminate your journey on earth. You got better with the treatment, which encouraged me to go home and check on the children, thus leaving you in the hands of your sister with the trust that you will be fine. But to my consternation, I returned to meet you in a situation where you could not say a word back at me. Not even a word for your dear children whom you loved and cherished so much.

"Jane My sweetheart! You have left me heartbroken and helpless with all the motherless children. How and where do I go about it. My tears cannot forestall this irreparable loss.  In all these, I take solace in God we both served and with the hindsight that you have a right standing with the Lord in whose bosom you rest until we meet to path no more.

"Nothing can dim the light that shines from within", you are gone but your light cannot dim in my heart.

Rest on my sweetheart!!!
Your beloved husband.
Amb. Jude Ebitimi Ukori (JP)".

Wahala as Garden boy impregnates three siblings kept indoor in Kenya

Nairobi_____ According to reports, the Kenyan parents to the girls kept their daughters indoors and could not allow them to mingle with friends. The gardern boy was the only close friend they knew.

Without their strict parents knowing, he started sleeping with them until he got all of them pregnant. The Christian Parents were shocked that their daughters were pregnant despite being strict on them. But when they inquired who was responsible, their honest response caused the mother to faint.
It was further revealed the garden boy started sleeping with the second born and after they were caught by the first born, she demanded that she be helped inorder for her not to report to the girls' tough and strict parents but in the process, the last born also saw what was happening and demanded to also sleep with the gardden boy if she has to keep secrete. In the end all the three sisters got pregnant by the same man.

The sisters have since given birth and parents have accepted the fate after intense counselling and blamed themselves for being too strict towards their daughters.

The garden boy instantly lost his job but the girls still send him money and love him and the father to their two daughters and son. This is how life treats people who are tough and strict towards girl children.

Bomadi LG Polls: Barr. Labo Releases 11 Points Development Blueprint, Give Reasons Why he Wants to be Chairman

Bomadi LG Polls: Barr. Labo Releases 11 Points Development Blueprint, Give Reasons Why he Wants to be Chairman

Francis Tayor

Warri ________ ln his desire to serve the good people of Bomadi Local Government Area with provision of adequate infrastructural development, quality education, health care facilities, electricity, security, agriculture among others, the immediate past Secretary of the Council, Hon. Barr. Labo Clifford Fun-akpo has released a strategic eleven point agenda to work on when he becomes the council Chairman.

This was made public on Monday at Bomadi, headquarters of the LGA during a press briefing, Barr. Labo Clifford noted that with his wealth of working experience in both legislative and executive business as former Councillor, Project Monitor, External Solicitor (Council Lawyer) and Executive Secretary, he is well equipped and prepared to serve the hospitable people of Bomadi better when given the opportunity to serve as the next Executive Chairman.
Labo stressed that he is well abreast with the peculiar challenges of Bomadians, adding that he is coming to render service to the people in the grassroot with a view to responding to their needs. He promised to be transparent, honest and accountable to the people when he eventually becomes the next Chairman of Council.

Read below full details of the amazing manifesto of the Kalafiogbene/Ekamta Communities born aspiring politician.

I am Hon. Barr. Labo Clifford Fun-akpo, an indigene of kalafiogbene/Ekamta, Ward Five (5). I am here to serve the good people of Bomadi LGA with humility , trust and transparency.
Edmund burke conceptualized government in the following words: “Government is a contrivance of human wisdom to provide for human wants. Men have a right that these wants should be provided for by this wisdom”. The ultimate aim of government should therefore clearly be to give service to the people with a view to responding to their needs. In a nutshell, the only justification for the existence of government as a societal institutional  arrangement is to provide selfless service to the people. Any government that finds itself unable to do so is necessarily irrelevant.    Sequel to the above, governance should be left for those who are equipped and prepared for it. It is upon this inspiration I am offering myself to be elected as the chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council for the following.
Education:

Education being the bedrock of society shall be given priority. My administration shall  liase with SUBEB through The Bomadi Local Education Authority (LEA)  to revamp the decadent infrastructure in our primary  schools. Most of our primary and nursery schools are not fenced and are in deplorable conditions. This is unfortunate. Financial aids/bursary shall be paid to students in professional training. Students in the Nigerian law school, Nigeria Medical School and health institutions shall be given priority.      There shall be strict monitoring of primary school teachers to ensure their punctuality .This is meant to achieve the purpose of the employment of above one hundred and fifty teachers (150) teachers by the immediate past administration. We shall renovate the Bomadi library and upgrade its facilities to encourage the reading culture.       We shall also revive the debate culture in our schools to develop the oral skills of the pupils and sponsor inter –house sports competitions for the physical and mental development of our children. Seminars, workshops and symposiums shall be organized or sponsored by council to disabuse the minds of our youths against drug abuse, cultism, prostitution, armed robbery, child trafficking, abortion and teenage births. Also, on a humanitarian ground, council shall float a special scheme to support persons with disabilities for their academic and economic upliftment.

Security :

In Justinian Philosophy “the safety of the state is the highest law”. Protection of lives and property shall be given premium. The Bomadi vigilante outfit shall be expanded to achieve greater efficiency. The Bomadi police does not have patrol vehicles and it is majorly part of the cause of the security deficit in Bomadi and its environs. We shall work out modalities to provide two or three patrol vehicles (siena) to enable the police carry out their enforcement duties .Also, the Bomadi police station remains unfenced. This has denied them fortification having severally suffered Invasions from irate youths. We shall partner with the police authorities in respect of the fencing and also to increase the police personnel in the Bomadi police command. As it is, the number of police officers  deployed to Bomadi is not enough for adequate security coverage. Accommodation shall be provided for the proposed increased police personnel. Registration of motor-cycles (okada) operating within Bomadi and its environs shall be effected to curb security excesses. I shall make sure there is peaceful co-existence between the border communities of Bomadi and Ughelli South local government areas.

Electricity:

The lack of electricity in Bomadi metropolis remains an inveterate impediment to the growth of the commercial life of the area. The immediate past administration led by Hon. William Angadi spent millions of naira for the repairs of non-functional transformers and also provided money for other logistics required by BEDC for Bomadi to be lighted up. This was done despite it not being council’s constitutional responsibility but for the service of the people. What is invariably left for Bomadi to be lighted up now rests on BEDC to perfect their technical work. We shall ensure that power supply begins in full swing and sustained for the betterment of our people. Security watch shall be expanded to protect the transformers from being damaged or parts stolen.

Environment :

One of the cardinal administrative problems in Nigeria is policy inconsistency and implementation discontinuity. The immediate past administration spent millions of naira to hire swamp buggies for the opening up of blocked water channels in Bomadi and Kpakiama towns to check perennial flooding. We shall continue in that stead. Also, financial aids shall be given to communities submerged by flood.  Bomadi is an emergent urban town. it is the epicenter of the commercial life of the Ese-naebe zone. A big city in view and as such the traces and trappings of a city should start off now to be seen. It is the reason the immediate past administration acquired a land, sand-filled it and built a wood market where all wood sellers will be relocated to. We must ensure the project is completed and the relocation is enforced. This is meant to avoid haphazard settlement of shops in Bomadi town. We shall also provide a mechanic village where all automobile experts will converge to render their services. We will continue with the Bomadi city beautification plan of converting tattered, plank, and rickety shops on the road sides to block shops with council specification in terms of the roofing and painting. This project has improved the face of Bomadi town and those who initially objected can now see the beauty of it. The monthly environmental sanitation exercises shall be expanded to the cleaning  up of the thick bushes on the road sides. we shall launch a keep Bomadi city clean campaign to that effect.A public cemetery shall be provided as required in all local government headquarters in Delta State. This is long overdue.

Health:

Bomadi Local Government Area has eleven (11) Primary Health Care centres with similar challenges and needs. The challenges shall be addressed and the needs provided for their functional efficiency. In addition, the Bomadi Mobile Clinic Bye_Law, 2018, shall be effectively implemented. It was a Bye-Law I sponsored during my stewardship as a councilor. Unfortunately, it was the only bye-law that was passed by the 8th assembly. It will require a mobile medical team of professional doctors and nurses with other health officials going round the communities attending to the health needs of our people.

Agriculture:

The poverty in our local government area is unacceptable, especially at this time of astronomical rise in the prices of commodities. “Brother Garri” is now four thousand naira (4,000). Therefore, we shall encourage massive production of garri and other staple foods to ease the burden of our people. We shall key into the Green Tree programme of our amiable governor to boost agriculture in our local government area.

Sports /Religion:

There are serveral football foundations in our local government area. Inter-communal and inter-zonal football competitions shall be organised to reward outstanding players. Inter-house sports competitions shall also be encouraged by council to reward outstanding sprinters and jumpologists.  Council shall encourage the work of God by harmoniously working with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bomadi chapter by supporting the umbrella body to countnue with the Ezon-ebe day of prayer, the Bomadi day of prayer and the annual CAN thanksgiving  to improve the spiritual well- being of our people. We are first Christians before becoming office holders as ambassadors of Christ. We shall encourage inter-faith harmony with the growing Muslim community in the area. My administration will also encourage religious tolerance in the LGA. Religionists will practice their various doctrines as far as government laws are not broken .

Ethnic Tolerance:

Inter-ethnic harmony shall also be encouraged with the growing Ibo, Urhobo, Isoko, Calabar, Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba and Benue communities. Most of them have become part of our voting population .The aim is to project the image of our local government area as a peace loving and friendly environment for investors.

Infrastructure:

Based on avalability of funds council shall maintain the existing infrastructure and could possibily carry out construction of internal roads. Maintance of internal roads shall also be given priority. We shall also upgrade the quality of the council pavilion which has been broken down for upgrade.
Council shall provide pipe-borne, portable water in the communities to ward off our people drinking from the rivers and streams .

Revenue:
We shall build utility projects across the local government area for public use to increase the Internally Generated Revenuea (IGR). Collection of tenement rates shall be effected. Revenue collection shall be contracted for efficiency as council may deem it fit.

Entertainment:

I shall  encourage our young people in their various talents which include acting, writing and music production through the establishment of an  LGA music studio and other creative platforms. This shall provide self-reliance to our teeming youths in Bomadi Local Government Area.

In conclusion i have got working experience in council business having served as a Councilor, Project Monitor, External Solicitor (council lawyer) and Executive Secretary of council , experienced in both legislative and executive capacities. I am equipped and prepared to serve you better. The best of mankind are those who bring benefit to others. I am graduate of English language and a lawyer. I have successfully done my internal defence for my Masters in Law programme in Delsu, Oleh Campus. My spirit to serve is missionary and not mercenary. I will, as your servant, give space for constructive criticism and acknowledge it as one of the ways open to the governed to exercise their natural right to demanding accountability from the government. Bomadians, please give me a chance to serve you.

C.F Labo Esq.

Bomadi ward 5 writes Gov. Sheriff open letter on political imbalance

Bomadi ward 5 writes Gov. Sheriff open letter on political imbalance

..... Makes passionate appeal to produce the next council Chairman

Warri _____ ln what they described as political marginalization and injustice, the people of Ward five (5) which comprises Kalafiogbene/Ekamta Communities in Bomadi Local Government Area, has written an open letter to the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to as a matter of urgency correct the injustice meted against them since the inception of the fourth republic in 1999.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Ward 5, Mr Koroama Solomon, Timipre German, Chairman Ekamta Community and the Chairman Kalafiogbene Community, Mr. Zion Okukuku said since the creation of Bomadi LGA, no son or daughter of Ward 5 has ever become Council Chairman either by appointment or election despite the huge support and contributions of the ward to the party over the years.
The ward 5 people are using this medium to make passionate appeal to His Excellency, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori who is a product of fairness, equity and justice to have a human face by making sure the forthcoming Bomadi LGA Council Chairman comes from Ward 5 in order to balance the political sideline as well as to assure the people a sense of belonging as responsible, peace loving and dedicated PDP faithfuls in Delta State since 1999 to date.
However, read below full details of the letter.

OPEN LETTER TO THE GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE, HIS EXCELLENCY RIGHT HON. SHERIFF OBOREWHORI ON THE NEED FOR EQUITY IN BOMADI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA CHAIRMANSHIP POSITION FOR WARD FIVE (5)

Your Excellency, the good people of Bomadi Local Government Area, particularly the People’s Democratic Party Family of Ward Five (5) once again congratulate you on your well-deserved victories in the 2023 governorship election, the tribunal, Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court.

We wholeheartedly appreciate your developmental strides within this short period in office, specifically the construction of flyovers in Warri and Effurun, the renovation of bye-pass roads in Otovwodo Ughelli, the near completion of Ughelli/Asaba road, the completion of the Bulu-Apelebiri bridge at the Bomadi/Ohoro road amongst other numerous projects across the State. We pray the Almighty God to keep guiding you as you diligently manage the affairs of the State irrespective of tribal, religious or political affiliations.

Your Excellency, it has become mandatory to write you on the present political imbalances in Bomadi Local Government Area suffered mostly by Ward (5). We believed acquainting you on the detailed situation of the political history of the area will consciously guide you against selfish political marauders who are bent on using your good name against the polity. This simple and sincere letter of appeal is prompted by the fact that equity and justice are democratic principles that cannot be waved aside. We know, as a product of equity and justice you will expedite action in correcting the injustice meted on the political destiny of ward five (5) in Bomadi Local Government Area, despite giving our complete support to the party since the inception of the fourth republic in 1999.

Ward five (5) which comprises Kalafiogbene/Ekamta communities is reputed to be a stronghold of PDP in Bomadi L.G.A with an undisputable history of party loyalty during elections and other political activities. This can be testified by our great leader Senator James Manager and the other leaders across the length and breadth of the Local Government Area.
THE POLITICAL MARGINALIZATION OF WARD FIVE (5).

Your Excellency, it is now a thing of serious concern for the good people of ward 5 since the creation of Bomadi L.G.A, no son or daughter of ward five (5) has ever become council chairman! In as much as this sounds oblivious, unfortunately, it is bitter truth. In fact, ward five (5) is the only ward in the Local Government Area that has not produced the council chairman both in elective and appointive capacities. This is in spite of Ward five (5) having competent and well schooled individuals and party faithfuls.

OUR HUMBLE REQUEST FOR EQUITY IN BOMADI LGA.

Your Excellency, on the above premise, it has become expedient and humanitarian on your part as our true leader to making sure the Bomadi L.G.A Council Chairman comes from Ward five (5). This will no doubt balance the present political scale of the area. It will also assure us a sense of belonging as responsible, peace loving and dedicated PDP faithfuls in Delta State. We have served the PDP plate enough for our plate to be served this time around.
Your Excellency, from the above tabular information, it is obvious the Stakes are against the People of Wards Five (5) despite our display of political dedication and loyalty to our great party over time. We make a strong affirmation on this apt disposition for the need of correcting this age-longed injustice. We sincerely hope this honest appeal will be given its deepest acknowledgement for the sake of humanity, justice and political equity. We pledge to continue with our support for the People’s Democratic Party even as we pray to realize this humble request in the forth coming L.G.A polls in the State. Finally, we urge you, our listening governor, Right Hon. Sheriff Oborewhori, and the PDP leaders in Bomadi L.G.A to see this legitimate appeal of ward five (5) as unflinchingly deserving and timely spurred. Our dear governor, as a product of equity and justice do same for ward five (5) in Bomadi Local Government Area Delta State.

Long live PDP
