Appointments: Egbema Leaders To Okowa,Why Have You Neglect Us After Working For You

By Kelly Gilor

Speaking with journalists on behalf of the Egbema Leaders of Thought (ELT), Ex- General and former member of Delta Water Ways and Land Security, Ambassador Aroni Oputu said, the people of Egbema Kingdom in Warri North Local Government have not been given political appointment despite our loyalty and massive votes to deliver Governor Okowa and all the PDP candidates in every election in the state.

Speaking further, Ambassador Aroni recalled how the people of Egbema Kingdom risk their lives to deliver Governor Okowa in the last governorship elections despite the pressure and promises of APC leaders. We have always support and vote PDP in every elections, but when is time for political appointment the people of Egbema have never been considered. We are begging our dear Governor to consider us this time, "he said.

According to him, it will interest you to know that the Egbema Kingdom in Warri North local government that host Dibi oil field, Olero creek oil field, Opu-ekeba flow station operated by Chevron and Opuama flow station operated by NPDC, you can see that Egbema Kingdom contribute over fourth percent of the state internal revenue. Despite our contributions to the state revenue and the massive votes to deliver our dear Governor, we the people of Egbema are yet to get any political appointment. According to Ambassador Aroni, Egbema Kingdom have paid their dues, So let our dear Governor consider us and look into our plights.

"We the people of Egbema Kingdom in Warri North local government is using this medium to appeal to our ebullient and listening Governor, His Excellency Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa to appoint Egbema sons and daughters in different political offices in other to give the Egbema Kingdom sense of belongings as partners in progress for Stronger Delta.

DESOPADEC Lopsided Appointment : Diebiri Kingdom Kicks Against Okowa Re-nomination Of Gbaramatu Son

DESOPADEC Lopsided Appointment : Diebiri Kingdom Kicks Against Okowa Re-nomination Of Gbaramatu Son

....Says It Is Diebiri Turn To Produce The Next Ijaw Ethnic Nationality Board Member/Commissioner

Francis Tayor

Warri-------- The people of Diebiri, the fifth ljaw highest oil producing Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has kicked against the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Dr Senator. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on his lopsided constitution and reappointment of Gbaramatu son as member into the Board of DESOPADEC to represent ljaw Ethnic Nationality.

The people decried that, the renomination of Gbaramatu son by Governor Okowa is an injustice, marginalization and a day robbery meted against Diebiri kingdom, holding to the facts that, Diebiri is the fifth Ijaw highest oil producing kingdom in Delta State, and host to Shell/NPDC, Nigerian Gas Company etc.

According to the Diebiri people in a Press Statement jointly signed by Mr.Michael Douglas (Chairman Diebiri Governing Council), Mr. Kingsley Oluba (Secretary), Hon.Moses Douglas (Leader of thought), Mr.Henry Suoware (Leader of thought) and Dcn. Wellington Igetei said, " Diebiri kingdom is one among the five Ijaw Kingdoms that produces oil and gas in Delta state. Diebiri owns the Batan oil field with Batan oil flowing station and over 35 oil wells with various oil pipe lines of Shell/NPDC, Nigerian Gas Company etc criss-crossing Diebiri Kingdom.By production quantum, Diebiri is the fifth oil producing kingdom in Delta state and as such contribute to the main stay and growth of Delta state economy and Nigeria at large."

The people reiterated that, the deliberate attempt by governor Okowa in denial of Diebiri membership in the Board of DESOPADEC or as Commissioner is the highest marginalization ever witnessed since the creation of HOSTCOM and DESOPADEC.

In backing up their argument, the people highlighted in brief the previous occupants of DESOPADEC from the five major oil producing kingdoms except Diebiri.

According to them," when the board of DESOPADEC was established, a son of Gbaramatu Kingdom in the person of Chief. Wellington Okrika became the pioneer Chairman. Then,Ogulagha Kingdom produced  Commissioner in the person of late Francis Temewei. Egbema kingdom produced Engr. Philip Gbasen as Executive Director.

Again, Gbaramatu Kingdom produced  Commissioner in the person of Barr.Kingsley Otuaro, who is the current Deputy Governor of Delta State.Thereafter, Ogbe-Ijoh kingdom produces Chief.Favour Izoukumor,  who is the immediate past Commissioner of the board, thereby relegating Diebiri kingdom to nothing.

Based on the analysis presented above, it is Diebiri Kingdom that has not represented the DESOPADEC Board from the oil producing kingdoms from the Ijaw ethnic nationality. Therefore, it is human to justify Diebiri kingdom to produce the next Executive Director or the Commissioner, but unfortunately, the reverse is the case."

However, in respect of the above, the people of Diebiri Kingdom are calling on the governor of Delta state, Senator Dr.Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to correct the anomality and injustice by nominating Diebiri son as member for the Ijaw Ethnic Nationality in the Board of DESOPADEC.

The statement further adds that, for the renomination of a Gbaramatu man at this time who in many occasions has represented the board is an error. Therefore, we called on governor Okowa to do the needful by nominating Diebiri son for the interest of peace, equity, fairness and justice to reign at the helm of affairs in the commission.

Retraction/Counter Publication To The Story Captioned : Ngbilebiri-Mein Kingdom Royal Crisis,Group Condemns Actions Of Pa Clark, Ekpedibo,Egberibo And Akpasele On False Allegations Over Arrest Of Some Bigborogha Royal Family Members

...Says Action Is Barbaric, Selfish That Is Capable To Cause Anarchy In Ngbilebiri-Mein Kingdom

Francis Tayor

This is an important update for the benefit of the general public and all sons and daughters of Ngbilebiri-Mein Kingdom, in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, to the unfoldings of the kingship saga in the Ngbilebiri kingdom.

It will recalled that sometime on the 8th of July 2019, our media organization aired a story from some group of persons (names withheld), in respect of the above caption without adequate facts finding to hear from both parties involved in the story.

In the course of our investigation, the organization discovered that, the said group called, Concerned Citizens of Ngbilebiri Kingdom, Ayakoromo (CCNKA) is a faceless  group with fake imagery names from the pit of hell which was a deliberate attempt to soil the highly priced Chiefs and personalities in Ngbilebiri kingdom.

Further revelation/facts gathered by our reporter Francis Tayor through Interview obtained from Ijaw national leader,Pa E.K.Clark, security agencies, some Chiefs (names withheld) and some Bigborogha family members shows that the said group are faceless and imagery names from neither Ayakoromo Community nor it's villages and harmlets , hence they are sponsored propagandists of the same late Pere Bigborogha 11 children and Bigborogha Royal Family members amongst other collaborators to weep up emotions, sentiments and incite the good people of Ayakoromo against those chiefs mentioned.

At this point, the management of NDM News Xclusive want to authoritatively tell the good people of Ngbilebiri Kingdom and the general public at large to ignore the frivolity and deliberate move by the said fictious CCNKA to instigate a callous conflict in the kingdom.

The Ngbilebiri Kingdom  is synonymous with peace, and the ancestral precepts guiding the existence and leadership of the kingdom, anything fall short wouldn't be accepted by the regent and the chiefs-in-council occasioned by death or incapability of the king due to sickness or otherwise.

To press further, Ngbilebiri Kingdom is known for its rotational traditional policy, and having these allegations as to Chief Dr.E.K.Clark and other chiefs influencing descripancy between the royal house and the kingdom is purely borne out of sheer ignorance.

The bereaved royal family has forgotten so soon that the chiefs they are throwing stones at by blackmailing their hard-earned repute have been supportive with plans to bury the late king peacefully.

It's now paramount to remind the royal family as occasioned by the complaints of neglecting the king that many infrastructures and facilities within the palace which the children now claim responsibility were as a result of  collective efforts of all the chiefs-in-council. Numbering among these projects includes:

1) Fencing and Interlocking of the palace  premises (NDDC).

2) Borehole in the palace (Chief Victor Dabor-Fuludu).

3) The Palace Generator ( DESOPADEC) but missing.

In response to the late Pere children comments saying, " our own chiefs that are used to oil the evil plots of chief E K Clark who has consistently and deliberately ridiculed, humiliated, oppressed and maltreated our dear king". The public should be rightly informed that, there was no time the late king was denied of his monthly stipend. The king enjoyed all financial benefits due him with no hindrance through out his 36 years of reign. Hence, the allegations that the chiefs neglected him was untrue and a big fallacy.

It is crystal clear that one family cannot fight a whole kingdom and its chiefs. The moves and insults rained on Pa E.K. Clark and other chiefs is a calculated plan to disrupt the peaceful traditional procedure to carry out a befitting burial ceremony for the late king who served the kingdom for good 36 years and consequently the crowning of a new king who would pilot the traditional governance of the kingdom.

From all indications, the bereaved family is insighting serious controversy by taking laws into their hands to decide the fate of the kingdom which is never done anywhere in the Nigerian society. That doesn't exclude the fact that the family constitutes part of the decisions taken.

The public also needs to know how threatening this issue has become, even to threat of life as one Mr.David Emevor, who in illegal possession of fire arm came shooting at a meeting sporadically. The matter since then was taken to the police headquarters in Asaba, and it's under investigation. Those faces behind the scene, and instigating continuous misunderstanding between the royal family and the kingdom will be enroped as well.

It was very unfortunate that the Bigborogha royal family and the late Pere children are brandishing the first petition of threat to life and theft written and signed by Kiagbodo Community Chairman, Assistant Secretary and Chief.Ebikeme Clark as false allegation. Also, the second petition written on behalf of Ngbilebiri Kingdom Traditional Council of Chiefs by Dr. E.K.Clark on the stolen Paraphernalia is a false allegation?

If so, some questions begging for answers from late Pere children and the Bigborogha royal family are ; Is it not true that Artifacts/ Paraphernalia Original Crown, Multiple Beads, Original Staff of Office,
Brakon,Golden Pot etc are missing from the Traditional Strongroom that was under lock and key ?

The missing "Crown and Royal paraphernalia" in the Palace is not fictitious. Recovering the bunch of keys to the strong room of the King's bedroom where the above items were kept from so called Prince Christopher Perekeme was also fictitious? The missing Generator found in the possession of Mrs Beauty Ughabojor (Nee Perekeme) was also a figment of wild imagination by the two Chiefs?

Is it not true that the Kidnap suspect Mr.David Emevor went to Ngbile playground to fire gun shots which gun was recovered by the Army stationed at a checkpoint  in Kiagbodo?

The children's refusal to cooperate and attend Kingdom meetings after due invitation is a lie? Can those who now claim to be members from the Bigborogha Royal family deny ever entering meeting with a high-powered delegation of Chiefs at Ayakoromo Town to broker Peace and arrange for the burial? How many times did the Bigborogha Royal Family celebrated the birthday anniversary or coronation activities with the King when he was alive and reigned for 36 years before his demise.

Is it naturally proper for the Children of late Pere and few disgruntled and very inactive members of the Royal Family to wrongly accuse the two Chiefs and Chief (Dr.) E.K.Clark of what they did not do? Accusing them falsely will very soon invoke the wrath of the gods and our ancestors. The truth will soon emerge. Those who know the antics and evil manipulations of Pere children and are pretending will also receive their reward traditionally. Our ancestors are not sleeping. Are the advocates of these children forgotten that the drama created by Mr. David Emevor, the alleged "Kidnapper" was actively witnessed by the gallant soldiers on duty at the University gate in Kiagbodo ? They are readily available to testify before law enforcement agencies. We shall see in due course if all the above points are all fictitious allegations fabricated by the two chiefs from Ayakoromo Town.

No matter the traditional circumstances prevailing, using saucy  and despicable remarks on Chief (senator/Dr.) E.K.Clark,CON,OFR a man of grand father status and well known by all and sundry is not only an abomination but a deep disrespect for age and status. The same man you claimed to have suffered and humiliated your father (the Pere) came calling during the condolence visit, you didn't drive him out of the Palace. Rather, you people accepted the money and drinks presented at the occasion with his entourage with all joy.The same thing repeated itself when the son, Chief A.E.Clark, as Chairman of Burutu LGA visited. Why are you people drinking the pepper soup prepared with the fish you hate? Other things the man has pampered the Royal Family with in the past will be a story for another day. What offense did him and the two Ayakoromo chiefs including the Regent that they should be crucified ?

The old man in conjunction with Chiefs in Council used his rare connections to inform the general public of the demise of our King and to ensure a befitting burial is given to the Monarch. Is that the crime the Chiefs in Council have committed against the children and the Royal Family ?

What is actually the problem of the children? Even those who are clandestinely supporting the children and the ignorant Royal Family members in Kiagbodo, Ayakoromo and diaspora are as confused as the public. The children should know that the delaying the traditional  process is not denial. The children should quickly have a rethink and positively use their scarce and hard earned monies to lucrative ventures that will economically promote the family of the late King. There is no need to dissipate the available energy in the wrong direction all in the name of fighting justice with a sense of false pride. The earlier the children and the Royal Family realize their rebellious motives and actions the better.

The several fruitless attempts by children and the Bigborogha Royal Family to drag or dangerously blackmail the Council of Chiefs in particular the two Ayakoromo Town Chiefs is to say the least very unfortunate.Mudslinging the names of innocent persons will do no one good. The arrogant and criminal display by the children of late Pere at meeting venues is no a secret. They have unsuccessfully attempted to violently disrupt well organized meetings by fighting and intimidating people with rented social miscreants. These misbehaviours were candidly witnessed by the law enforcement agencies present. They believe in having their way against the established traditional order of doing things. Are the above actions of the children also the handiwork of the two Chiefs?

In conclusion, the Ngbilebiri-Mein Kingdom and the general public should note that the severally referred Chiefs, Chief.James Egberibo, (CNA,FIAN) the Olotu and Chief (Hon.) Yerin Ekpedibo Yerin (FCIN, NES) the Boloukere-Owei are chiefs of Ngbilebiri Kingdom, and are duly performing traditional duties to protect the general interest and not one particular chief or person in the kingdom.

Until the logical conclusion of investigations to the allegations and beyond, the lives, properties, immediate families and all their interest are at the risk of the Pere Bigborogha 11 children and Bigborogha family. The Ayakoromo Community, Ngbilebiri Kingdom, the general public and the security agencies should take note.

The series of recalcitrant and uncompromising posturing that probably led to the invitation of the law enforcement agencies at Asaba since the leadership of the various Autonomous Communities by Ommission or Commission played ostrich to the imbroglio.
The Council of Chiefs as law abiding citizens took the right step by involving the police in this matter. Let both sides mellow down and allow absolute Peace to reign again in Ngbilebiri-Mein Kingdom.

Obasanjo’s Letter: A dark Cloud Hovers Over Nigeria, IYC President Oweilaemi Pereotubo warns

Francis Tayor

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has warned that a dark cloud is hovering over Nigeria which may explode in no distance time if the warnings of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in his Monday’s Open Letter to President Muhammadu Buhari is taken for granted by Nigerians.

IYC President, worldwide, Pereotubo Oweilaemi, in his reaction to the letter on Monday averred that all the thoughts expressed by the former president were not far from the truth.

“OBJ is not far from the truth. There is a dark cloud hovering around the country. It will explode like a time bomb.

“We don’t need a prophet to tell us that Boko Haram sect has not been defeated. The government is only celebrating vainglory of its acclaimed defeat of the sects.

“The issue of banditry and kidnapping across the country, perpetrated by the Fulani terrorists are still largely unaddressed.

The recent assassination of the Afenefere leader’s daughter is the height of these provocative attacks.

“Only God can save Nigeria from the imminent precipice. The cloud of bloodbath is gathering momentum.

“President Buhari should listen to the voice of reason. OBJ’s letter should not be swept under the carpet,” the Ijaw youths warned.

It will be recalled that President Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday in the open letter called for a national debate to discuss the debilitating security issues affecting the nation.

He bemoaned the security challenges posed by the Boko Haram terrorists and the Fulani herdsmen terrorising virtually every part of the country.

Nigeria Insecurity: Arrest  And Proscribe Myetti Allah Leadership Now- Southern Nigeria Assembly Tells President Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari Arrest And Proscribe Myetti Allah Leadership Now: A Clarion Call For Justice in Nigeria.

Francis Tayor

Abakiliki------The Southern Nigeria Assembly, the supreme umbrella body and a coalition of all the indigenous youths organizations  in the Southwest, South South and Southeast Geo Political Zones of Nigeria and In Diaspora, urgently call President  Muhammadu Buhari's led Federal Government to arrest and prosecute the current leadership of the Myetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association(MACBAN) and other allies Likes over their recent seditious and inciteful hate speeches with preference to their malicious call for the arrest of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo over his advice In his open letter to President Buhari to stop the impending war via call for An Urgent National Conference. We see this heinous act of MACBAN as illicitly motivated, reckless, diversionary tactics, with devilish intent to put Nigeria on flames if Presidency fall into the trap of Arresting Chief Olusegun Obasanjo,We have Watched keenly most of the controversial activities of MACBAN recently, have directly and indirectly leading to mass murder and Genocidal Ethnic Cleansing against innocent Nigerians through allegedly perceived agents: dreaded  militia Herdsmen arm, with attendant daily mass killings in our various communities across the nation, especially the recent wake of crises, killings, kidnapping and community invasion by their armed bandits elements, under the aegis of Fulani Herdsmen terrorist group, despite the allegedly N100 billion Naira recently tangled by the Federal Government to pacify this dreaded group as a frontal measure to win the terrorism war, unfortunately this singular stride has further increased our woes and agony unabated till date.

The rude provocative call for Chief Obasanjo's arrest is a ploy of Myetti Allah to derail Nigeria's governance system to total anarchy, a semblance of Venezuelan and Rwandan genocidal ethnic cleansing agenda.

Furthermore, it is an open invitation to put more hardship on the already helpless and suffocated citizenry, plagued in the world headquarters of poverty.

However, we implore the Federal Government to desist from any attempt to arrest Obasanjo but to show conspicuous appreciation to the former president for courage to speak the truth to power.

Similarly,  the impunity move by the Myetti Allah is aimed at setting the nation ablaze, with attraction of grave consequences not limited thereto: political and economic sanctions from world super powers.

We observed with keen interest the concurrent evil bedevilling the Nigerian state as a premeditated agenda to cause war and civil unrest in Nigeria.

We are completely worried and compelled to react against the MACBAN for not calling for arrest of bandits and armed Herdsmen in the North, having continuously unleashed terror from Benue, Taraba, Osun, Enugu,Oyo, Ebonyi Ogun, Abia,Ekiti, Anambra and Ondo States without no fundamental arrest, not until recently on the Late Funke Olakunri's killers arrest of suspects, though information is discreet and shoddy.

However, we shall holding MACBAN accountable for this crimes, precipitating our move to equally filling a legal action and  petition against  them both to our National Courts and the United Nations for championing ethnic cleansing agenda.

Hence, precipitating the Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, other South South Youth leaders under the Southern Nigeria Assembly to urgently call for a National (Youth)Dialogue Summit of selected youth leaders from all ethnic nationalities in Nigeria and other critical stakeholders, and the process of delegates invitation is on ahead of 30th September to 1st October, 2019 slated for Lagos, details will be out soon.

Based on this premise, the National Dialogue shall serve as a means of urgently nipping in the bud and proffering immediate panacea to the hydra headed monsters called Armed Bandits/Killer Herdsmen on our various death points: intra-city and interstates highways, as well as addressing and setting the tone for a robust dialogue on other needful necessities: restructuring and new people's constitution, economic integration and development, infrastructures, education, food security, youth and women empowerments, peace and security to mention a few.

Any other resolutions ancillary to the aforementioned demands.

We have emphatically spoken.

Amnesty: Ex-agitators Renew Threat,Gives FG,Dokubo Additional Four Days To Call Back Amnesty Delegates For Training

Don't Take Our Patience For Granted,We Will Cripple The Nation's Economy If...

Warri------- As the four days ultimatum to resume attack in the creek issued to Federal Government of Nigeria and the multinational oil companies operating in the Niger Delta region,on the delay of training amnesty delegates by the Presidential Amnesty Office expires today, the ex-agitators has renewed its initial threat issued to strike oil pipelines in additional four days time, if President Muhammadu Buhari refused to address the problem facing amnesty delegates.

The group of delegates in their renewed issued threat statement today at Warri said, federal government President Muhammadu Buhari, multinational oil companies and Prof. Charles Dokubo should not take their patience for granted, stressing that they are still equal to the task to carryout destruction of oil pipelines in the creeks in a twinkle of an eye to bring down the nation's economy.

Speaking to the Press at Warri today, Mr.Bololo Pude on behalf of the 185 delegates who are entitled for six months training at Izonebi training center Igando Lagos said, " we decided to extend the date for action to this weekend Friday 19th July, believing that President Muhammadu Buhari have a listening ear and is on top the matter. We also felt that,Prof. Charles Dokubo is also working out modalities to that effect. It is wise that we give them more time to put things in order for our own good. But be as it may, we urged federal and the amnesty office to act fast, and don't take our patience for granted."

" Mr.Bololo reiterated that, We are keeping hope alive that, with the extension of additional four working days, the amnesty office would be able to put in place every logistics needed for the training. Therefore, we decided to exercise more little patience to see unfolding development from the amnesty office.

Meanwhile, any further disappointment from the side of federal government in respect of our training, the world shall bear us witness that we warned Nigeria government, but it takes us for granted. And the result from our actions after this ultimatum, the negative effect to our nation's economy would be very bad and disastrous,Bololo stated."

Meanwhile, it would recalled that, on the 24th of June 2019, the Coordinator for training Presidential amnesty office, Mrs.Enetimi Bonozigha Evah called amnesty delegates on phone to prepare ahead for amnesty entrepreneur training today 15th July, 2019 at Izonebi training center lgando,Lagos.

Thereafter, they where called again on the 8th of this month July, barely a week to the training and where asked to stay back without any proper  information on the reason why they should not go for training.

However, they called on President Muhammadu Buhari, the leadership of the National Assembly and Prof.Charles Dokubo as a matter of urgency to amicably addressed every lingering problem in the amnesty office,so that the potential delegates could go for training without any further delay, the statement adds.

Thereafter, they where called again on the 8th of this month July, and where asked to stay back without any proper  information on why they should not go for training.

However, they called on President Muhammadu Buhari, the leadership of the National Assembly and Prof.Charles Dokubo as a matter of urgency to amicably addressed every lingering problem in the amnesty office,so that the potential delegates could go for training without any further delay, the statement adds.

G.T. Okorobia

A call for hygiene in Ijaw National Politics, especially the processes leading to the constitution of the leadership architecture of INC, and the development question of Ijaw National Ethnicity , is as topical as it is relevant. Hence, I urge everyone involve in the electioneering process (Electoral Committee, Steering Committee, CITRE, and other well-meaning stakeholders) and all aspirants to put Ijaw interests over and above personal interests and pecuniary embellishments. I implore and entreat all involves to be civil, patriotic, selfless and democratic in their conducts before, during and after the elections. Our INTERNAL PEACE, UNITY and DEVELOPMENT is as sacred as our existence. The collective and cumulative interest of Ijaw nation is SUPREME and NON-NEGOTIABLE. The Ijaw Nation, Nigeria and the entire world is watching. Let us not behave like "orphans with parents". Therefore, all actors should know that, supporting a particular candidate to the detriment of Ijaw national peace and unity, and by extension disrupting peaceful elections and promoting violence and thuggery, would not make you an HERO in Ijaw Land - we know our Heroes. All the candidates are our fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters and kinsmen. Therefore, rather than fighting ourselves and promoting internal wrangling, let us garner our mental, physical, spiritual, financial, political and intellectual resources to foster internal peace and democracy and collectively work for the socio-political stability and economic prosperity of our land. For this reason, all aspirants and delegates should be given equal opportunity and fair level playing ground to exercise their franchise in the spirit of sportsmanship and brotherhood. Delegates should say NO to candidates' imposition. NO MAN OR SET OF FEW ELITES IS BIGGER THAN IJAW NATION.

For the purpose of historical beauty and its cognitive tendency, IJAW NATIONAL CONGRESS, was founded with the indubitable aim of fostering UNITY and COMMON PURPOSE among Ijaw National Ethnicity. Its first non-elective convention was held at Patani, Delta State, which produced the erudite scholar and theologian, Professor Dime as its first President in 1991. Afterwards, Chief Joshua Femode emerged as the first elected President of CONGRESS which took place at Port Harcourt, Rivers State. And the history is to be told later.

The thrust of this writing is the Personality Question of a man who is rich in human Content vis-a-vis ideological, charismatic, visionary, purposeful, articulate and vibrant, Chief Nengi James. The motto of INC is "LEADERSHIP BY SERVICE". For service is the kernel of leadership. Of course, only few individuals are passionate for service when given the opportunity to lead. That is why we don't need people who are leaders as mere occupants of leadership position but leaders who are service focus and oriented. Not surprisingly, Chief Nengi James has exemplify himself with this quality. He's service-worthy. He's service oriented. He has given service to humanity, especially the Ijaw nation. This is evident in the various capacities he has served the Ijaw nation.

The INC in this critical moment of its evolution and resuscitation needs a team of leaders with the necessary will-power and charisma and sincerity of purpose to uphold, maintain and sustain its (INC) aims and objectives as enshrined in Article 7 of the Constitution of Ijaw National Congress (as reviewed 2019). And having Chief Nengi James in the team of leaders as VICE PRESIDENT 2 (Central Zone), is the best thing that can happen in INC now. And just like the exactitude of a Jewish prophet, It is my considered opinion and humble submission that, we need to get INC right with the rights leaders. And when once we restructure INC in the right direction and for the right purpose, we'll certitudely get the Youth Wing (IYC) right as well. And put an end to all these unhealthy polarisations and factionalism that had marred our collective image, unity and consensus of minds in making policy statements and in the fight for our socio-political freedom and fiscal federalism in Nigeria.

As a socio-cultural organization established to protect the common cultural values of IJaw Ethnic Nationality, INC, needs men and women of high cultural values; proven integrity and depicted readiness and passion to protect and preserve our cultural heritage, to chair and engineer its leadership architecture. And Chief Nengi James first come to mind as a Cultural Ambassador; a man of proven integrity, impressive moral record, sterling leadership dexterity, and whose dedication and contributions towards the preservation of Ijaw cultural heritage is never in doubt. He's not just a traditional title hider but a man of high cultural values. He's fully abreast with Ijaw traditional norms and values. Equally, he had traveled to almost all the Clans in Ijaw Land. He deserve this post more than his opponent. Chief Nengi James is a living epistle of Ijaw cultural values and history.

INC, as a non-partisan body with the unarguable purpose of uniting all Ijaw sons and daughters under one umbrella body, does not need people with uncriticized political assumptions, sentiments, biases and affiliations, capable of polarising and dividing Ijaw nation along party politics, as its leaders. Equally, Chief Nengi James also pass this fundamental test, as he's not a card carrying member of any political party. He had shown high level of maturity and neutrality in his political thoughts and discussions. He always expressed his feelings and thoughts according to the general will of the masses. He has been an independent voice with an impressive track record of integrity, professionalism and truth-advocacy.

As a pressure group, aimed at advocating for improve standard of living, socio-economic advancement, environmental/ecological protection and regeneration, and equitable distribution of wealth, INC, is the umbrella body of all socio-cultural pressure groups in Ijaw territory, and as such, we need credible people with proven track record of advocacy, activism and selfless services to the entire Ijaw nation. We can't allow 'political activists and agitators' to speak for us anymore. Nengi James has cut his teeth in the agitation of our people for a better deal. He has made a place for himself in the landscape of struggle icons. Unarguably, for the office of INC VICE PRESIDENT 2, Chief Nengi James is the man this cap of leadership best fit now.

Now is the time to eschew and shun any divisive tendencies in Ijaw nation. Now is the time to allow justice prevail and reign in all the nook and cranny of Ijaw land. Now is the time to rebuild the broken walls of development and consensus of minds and unity of purpose in Ijaw nation. Now is the time to re-brand and rebuild our image as people of truth and justice. Now is the time to rise tall and with one voice in defense and protection of our degraded and despoiled environment by the Multinationals. My elders, now is the time to fight against underdevelopment, horizontal inequality, sub regional terrorism, illiteracy and poverty. Now is the time for the Ijaw nation to rise in oneness and have her place among the comity of socio-cultural groups in Nigeria such as Arewa Consultative Forum; Afenefere; Indigbo Ohaneze among others. We must never forget that, we are the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria and contributes to over 80 percent of Nigeria's Foreign Exchange. Now is the time to fight for our common unity. Now is the time to preach peace and brotherliness. Now is the time to consolidate the patriotic spirits and and selfless visions of our Founding Fathers and Heroes. Now is the time to rise in oneness to Restructure Ourselves and then the Question of Restructuring in Nigeria. Now is the time to facilitate rapid and sustainable development of the Ijaw Nation into a nation that is economically viable and prosperous, socially stable, environmentally regenerative and politically peaceful through a vibrant and formidable INC leadership. It is not later but now is the time for the rebirth of INC in the spirit and zeal of its Founding Days. Now is the time for the Ijaw nation to elect the right people in INC. Now is the time for Chief Nengi James to be elected as VICE PRESIDENT 2 of Ijaw National Congress.

The Historical Arogbo Ibe Ijaws In The Niger Delta South-South Nigeria

The Historical Arogbo Ibe Ijaws In The Niger Delta South-South Nigeria

Tare Ekereke

The Arogbo Ibe Ijaws live in south-Eastern Ondo State of Nigeria. Historically, the Arogbo have had trading contacts with neighboring Ijaw tribes (Apoi, Egbema) and the Ijebu and Ilaje-Yoruba.Most Arogbo are bilingual, speaking dialects of both the Yoruba and Ijaw languages.

Historically, the Arogbo acted as middle men in the slave trade, selling captives from the interior to Europeans. The Arogbo migrated to their present location from the town of Gbaran in the central Niger Delta.Worship of the god Egbesu is particularly strong among the Arogbo.

The Arogbo are in present-day Ondo State. The founding ancestors of the Arogbo were part of the same migration from Ujo-Gbaran Town. After a brief stop at Oproza, led by Perebeinmo, they went on to Ukparomo (now occupied by the towns of Akpata,Opuba,Ajapa and Ukpe). They stayed here for some time about the length of the reign of two Agadagbas (military priest-rulers of the shrine of Egbesu).

They then moved to the present site of Arogbo. From this place descendants spread out to found the Arogbo Ibe.It was from Arogbo that some ancestors migrated Northwards up the old course of the Forcados river and settled near the site of Patani.Living nearby in the upland region were Edo or Efa people called Erowha. These ancestors later on inter-married with them and gave birth to the Uvwie and Effurun (Efferun the ancestor of the Effurun or Ephron was a descendent of Gbaran) sections of Urhobo people.

During the time of the expansion of the Benin kingdom (1550),the Benin invaded Ukoruama (Lagos). The Arogbo sent soldiers to defend the Ijoh living in  that region.Their army camp became known as Idumu-Arogbo later shortened to Idumagbo. The Arogbo also successfully halted the advance of the Benin army into the western Delta and subsequently the whole of the Izon-Ibe.

The foundation of the Arogbo Ibe is clearly pre-14th century AD.The ancestors of the Arogbo lived at  Ujo-Gbaran between 700 – 1100 AD. Along with the ancestors of the Gbaramatu and Tuomo they moved to the Escravos region, while the Arogbo ancestors moved further west.
