Ogbe-ljoh Youths Give Gov. Okowa 14Day Ultimatum to Fish Out Killers of Pst. Sylvester in Aladja

Francis Tayor

Warri_____ Prior to the sympathetic gruesome murder of Pst. Sylvester Yerinbide of Ogbe-ljoh by Aladja Community youths last week, the Ogbe-ljoh Warri Kingdom Youth Council, ably led by Comrade. James Etimadimene Seyefa, has issued 14 days ultimatum to the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Sen Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, Commissioner of Police Delta State, as well as other security agencies to as a matter of urgency fetch out the perpetrators of the destardly act to book for peace to reign between the two communities.

The ultimatum was issued on Friday November 5, at Ogbe-ljoh Community, shortly after emmergency meeting held by the youth council, where they urged the state governor to hold Aladja Community responsible for consistently breaching the Peace Accord agreement signed by both communities last year.

The Ogbe-ljoh youths expressed displeasure over the lakadasical pattern of Gov. Okowa led Delta State Government in handling the Ogbe-ljoh and Aladja communal crises over the years.

The youths noted that despite their total commitment and respect to the Peace Accord agreement, Ogbe-ljoh youths had been a victim to series of attack as well as killing by Aladja Community.

In narrating their ordeal, the Ogbe-ljoh youth President, Seyefa stated that first, Mr. Tailor Ogofugha was murdered by Aladja youths last year in front of his house at Ogbe-ljoh, and now Pst. Sylvester Yerinbide was turtured to death in Aladja on 29th October, 2021, to attend All Night Church Programme.

He said: " We did not retaliate because of the Peace Accord agreement signed. We want the government and the security agencies to note that Ogbe-ljoh youths are not happy with the way they are handling the crisis. Government assured to deal decisively with any Community that breaks the Peace Accord but nothing had been done to that effect since Aladja youths are attacking and killing Ogbe-ljoh youths."

" We had been pushed to the wall. Henceforth, the youths of Ogbe-ljoh cannot fold their hands and watch. Therefore, we the entire youths of Ogbe-ijoh warri kingdom is given the state government, all security agencies and the leadership of Aladja community 14 days ultimatum starting from 6th November, 2021 to provide the killers of Pastor Sylvester Yerinbide or else, we shall avenge his death," Comrade Seyefa added.
