Mercy Johnson Cries Out, Accuses Teacher OF Bullying Daughter

Mercy Johnson Cries Out, Accuses Teacher OF Bullying Daughter

Francis Tayor

Mercy Johnson -Okojie, a Nollywood actress, has spoken out against a teacher who bullies her daughter at her new school.

The mother of four took to Instagram to question whether being Mercy Johnson -Okojie’s daughter is a crime ?

She went on to say that she takes her role as a mother very seriously and that she will not tolerate anyone who despises her children simply because she is their mother.

Mercy explained that she instils qualities in her children such as politeness and kindness, as well as teaching them not to be intimidated by others and to always speak up when they are treated unfairly.   Following her explanation of the moral standards by which she raised her children, the Nollywood actress went on to criticise a teacher at her daughter’s school, whom she declined to name.

She explained how a teacher who is not her daughter’s class teacher frequently goes to Purity’s class and flicks her hair with a pen while telling her she doesn’t like her mother and that she believes celebrity children are frequently ill-mannered. Purity began reporting the teacher to Mercy, but Mercy thought she was exaggerating, and the abuse continued, to the point where her daughter despised going to school.

The actress went on to say that when she went to pick up her daughter from school and found her crying, she realised how bad the abuse was. Purity had been shoved by a student, and she had pushed back, but the teacher chose to only discipline her daughter. Mercy went ahead and reported the problem to the school officials, who assured her that the situation would be handled, and she is currently awaiting the outcome. ‌

Uche Secondus Moves To Stop PDP Convention

Uche Secondus Moves To Stop PDP Convention

In a letter dated 21st October, 2021, former National chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus has perfected plans to stop PDP convention.

The letter reads:

Dear Sir,

AND PENDENCY OF APPLICATION FOR INJUNCTION TO RESTRAIN
THE HOLDING OF PP NATIONAL CONVENTION

We act for the Appellant in the above captioned matter, PRINCE UCHE SECONDUS, who was
the National Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), prior to the institution of Suit
Number PHC/2183/CS/2021, and wish to bring to your attention the following facts:

1. On 23 August 2021 one Mr Ibeawuchi E. Alex and four others jointly instituted Suit No
PHC/2183/CS/2021 at the High Court of Rivers State, PortHarcourt Judicial Division against
Prince Uche Seconds and the PP as Defendants.

2. On 10 September 2021, the High Court of Rivers State delivered its judgment in the Suit
whereby Prince Uche Seconds was, inter alia, restrained from performing the functions of
the office of National Chairman of the PDP.

3. An appeal has been filed and entered against the judgment at the Court of Appeal,
PortHarcourt Judicial Division.

4. In addition, an Application on Notice has been filed in which Prince Uche Secondus is seeking, inter alia, the following orders:

i. AN ORDER of injunction restraining the PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY, the 6th Respondent herein, whether by itself, its officers, servants, agents and or representatives from holding or conducting its National Convention scheduled for 30th
and 31st October 2021 or any other date, pending the hearing and final determination of this appeal.
ALTERNATIVELY TO I ABOVE

ii. AN ORDER that the parties to this appeal, particularly the Appellant/Applicant and
the 6th Respondent (Peoples Democratic Party) shall maintain the status quo ante as at 22 August 2021, when Appellant/Applicant was occupying the office of National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, pending the hearing and final determination of this appeal.

5. The application has since been served on you and other Respondents in the appeal.

6. Notwithstanding the service of the Application for injunction, it has come to the Notice
of our client that the PP and its officers continue to prepare to hold the National Convention on 30 and 31 October 2021.

7. This letter is intended to draw your attention to the position of the law of Nigeria on this subject as encapsulated in the judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in the celebrated case of GOVERNOR OF LAGOS STATE vs. CHIEF EMEKA ODUMEGWU OJUKWU (1986) I NWLR (Part 18) 621 @ 637, in which the court, reviewed various decisions on the point, and approved the following principles as the correct position of the law, that is:

“The rule is well settled …… that where a suit is brought to enjoin certain activities ……of which the defendant has notice, the hands of the defendant are effectually tied pending a hearing and
determination even though no restraining order or preliminary injunction be issued…..

The conclusion to be drawn from all the cases is that after a defendant has been notified of the pendency of a suit seeking an injunction against him even though a temporary injunction be not
granted, he acts at his peril and subject to the power of the court to restore the status wholly irrespective of the merits as they may
be ultimately decided.”

8. The same position was taken by the Court of Appeal in CHIEF ELIAS OKEKE-OBA vs. IKWUKA OKOYE (1994) 8 NWLR (364) 605 @ 617-618, where the court said as follows:

“The general practice is that on application for an order for interlocutory injunction, all activities affecting the res, ….are automatically terminated as a mark of respect to the court before whom the application is pending.…..if..parties to the suit senselessly rush their tortious trespassory activities…in the spacious belief that that would promote their unfounded claims to the res. Nothing can be farther from the truth. Such heedless posture is, to say the least, a fragrant disrespect to the court. It clearly, in my opinion amounts to intransigence for a party against whom an order for injunction is sought to intensify his interference with the res.. The court cannot be hoodwinked by such impropriety of unlawful acts in relation to the res.……Nor can the person in such disrespect be allowed to take advantage of his default and flagrant intransigence.”

9. The logical corollary of the foregoing pronouncements of the courts is that having been served with an application seeking to restrain the holding of its National Convention
pending the determination of the appeal filed by Prince Uche Seconds, the PDP would
be embarking upon a collision course with the court if it proceeds to hold the National
Convention before the hearing and determination of the Application.

10. Should such contumacious conduct of holding the National Convention before the hearing
and determination of the Application be embarked upon by the Party however, we shall
not hesitate to bring the full weight of the law against all national officers of the Party that
are responsible for such conduct of contempt of court.

11. Quite apart from the fact that such contumacious conduct would impinge on the integrity of the Party, we would on our part, swiftly take steps to invoke the jurisdiction of the
court to nullify any decision, action or step taken at such Convention.

We trust that you will wisely advise the Peoples’ Democratic Party and its officers in this reg

Just-ln: Femi Otedola Takes Over First Bank Nigeria

Just-ln: Femi Otedola Takes Over First Bank Nigeria

Francis Tayor

Femi Otedola, a billionaire businessman, has taken over First Bank of Nigeria Plc with his recent acquisition of about N30 billion worth of shares, making him the bank’s single largest shareholder.

He had a humongous loan portfolio of N192 billion in 2012 via his then Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd, which was eventually passed on to the Asset Management Company of Nigeria. This invariably means that, as the largest shareholder, he owns the most voting shares and, as a result, has the most power over the bank’s direction.

Many people were surprised when he sold his 75 percent direct and indirect stake in Forte Oil in 2019 via a merger of his company Zenon Oil and former African Petroleum, especially given the lucrative nature of the oil and gas industry.

He didn’t keep them guessing for long, as he soon announced that he wanted to explore and maximise refining and petrochemicals business opportunities. Despite having investments in the real estate and financial sectors, Otedola singled out First Bank for the simple reason that, unlike other new generation banks, there wasn’t exactly one man in charge.

He wasted no time in capitalising on the leadership crisis that rocked First Bank recently, with the Central Bank of Nigeria sacking both the bank’s chairman, Ibukun Awosika, and the chairman of FBN Holdings, Obafemi Otudeko.

Femi Otedola made his moves, and today he is a better person as a result of them.

YOU MUST NOT FORGET UDUAGHAN AT DAWN, A BIRTHDAY MESSAGE.

YOU MUST NOT FORGET UDUAGHAN AT DAWN, A BIRTHDAY MESSAGE.

By Asiayei Enaibo

When a man is good, we should applaud him by his commitment, when he is weak we should also encourage him to strengthen his policies, if he is bad in leadership, we should tell him of his failures, when he is good, we should rate him by his performance, but today I have come to celebrate a man who break chain of educational segregation of the riverine people for the first time.

The land was in tension, the night was too thick to move, insecurity collapsed all the sectors, oil was on fire, income was out. The creeks boiled awaiting to explode, has it been that long that you have forgotten so soon some years ago?
You must not forget Uduaghan at Dawn in a hurry.

The key to security, he unclothed his SSG gown at night, he unclothed his Governorship gown at night, when both of us where sleeping, Uduaghan's two eyes were open, he moved to the creeks with taxi and boat at Night to ensure peace. When the night was a threat to you and I, he was a friend to the night so that we both could sleep and snore freely but today, you have close your mind against goodness of yesterday, when our communities were on fire, someone was a firefighter at Night to all the Lion camps, silent boat at night, as the freedom fighters asked Who goes there? Your Governor Uduaghan, in silent Voice,  commander!  said to the boys, "lower your sticks na him"
You must not Forget Uduaghan at Dawn in hurry in Delta State.

When you impregnated your wife in love yesters years, He took care of the bills with free medication during his governance, women come home without spending a dime in the hospital, because you know now that your children have grown up you have forgotten Uduaghan at Dawn, when you were having headaches, you have eaten the flesh with failing memories of hatred thoughts, when tribalism eats up your memories, so you have forgotten goodness at dawn of a new day and today you  never remember the night you were once in?

Yes, when all transport fare was high, when we couldn't  go the University in Abraka, Uduaghan came to us with transport scheme and we went to school on free fare, I have graduated from Delsu on free fare, you must not forget Uduaghan at dawn.

When a man stands to face the storm on your behalf, say thank you to him, because, there will be another storm tomorrow, for the storm-wager will not be there for your ungrateful heart.

Don't forget the time of Amnesty, don't forget the time of rejoicing of the creek.
He was too gentle and calm, he never talked. when he was not moving for peace for your notice, he knew what good governance entails.

Today, a man was born keenly into the Earth of humanity, and his footsteps and footprints bring that long battle to an end in Delta State.

Join me, Let's step forth to appreciate Chief Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan the former Governor of Delta State as he celebrates his birthday today as an Ambassador of peace to the South South region
You must not forget Uduaghan at Dawn.
Sir, in this your new circle of life, I wish you good health and long life for what you have done that cannot be forgotten in a hurry.

Happy birthday sir.
Congratulations.

Trump to Launch his Own Social Media Platform in November

Former U.S. President, Donald Trump has announced on Wednesday that he will launch his own social media platform known as, TRUTH Social.

According to a Press Release by Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), Trump’s new social network is set to launch a beta version in November, which will be available to invited guests only. Its national rollout is expected in the first quarter of 2022, the press release said.

Trump signaled his aspirations to create a rival social media platform after he was kicked off from several social media platforms. Earlier this year, major social media firms including Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, banned or suspended Trump for violating their policies following the Jan 6, attack on the Capitol.

“I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech. We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced,” Trump said in the statement.

Trump said that the company’s mission is to create “a rival to the liberal media consortium and fight back against the Big Tech companies.”

TRUTH Social App will be launched through a new company formed by a merger of the Trump Media and Technology Group and Digital World Acquisition Corp, listed on the Nasdaq, as per its statement. (By the way, marketing materials for TRUTH’s iOS app show a screenshot with a list of posts from publications including The New York Times, Variety, Fox News and TechCrunch. Sexual Amendment Bill passes 3rd Reading in the Senate

Sexual Amendment Bill passes 3rd Reading in the Senate

The Nigerian Senate led by Senate President Ahmed Lawan has read for the 3rd term The Sexual Amendment Bill (2020 as amended).

In this bill, the lecturers in higher institutions must not date, friend or have sexual intercourse with any student.

In short, intention to do so is 14years jail term. This law is endorsed by all stakeholders of education industry apart from the ASUU who felt the law is against their members.

While passing the law, the senate adjusted the law to even mean all schools including secondary and primary schools.

So if you are a teacher and you are dating one of your students, you have one of these four options;
1. End the relationship immediately
2. Marry her immediately
3. Resign as a teacher
4. Tell the girl to drop out of school and start a trade.

If you are caught, 21years imprisonment. There is nothing like, she gave consent. They said NO MORE CONSENT.

If you make any attempt to date or cajole a student or toast. Or you make sexual advances at a student; 14years imprisonment.

If you forcefully "involve" with a student (in the words of Senate President) my guy, you dey go prison.

Now, this is not peculiar to teachers and lecturers only. Even bosses at work. Directors, HODs, EDs, ES, Supervisors, Chairman, Councillors, Conductors and so on.

GOD BLESS NIGERIAN SENATE. UNA DO WELL ON THIS ONE.

Tiwa Savage Finally Speaks on her leak sex tape

Tiwa Savage says she has been able to control the narrative on her sex tape, which is currently in circulation.

Earlier in the month, the music star had raised the alarm that someone was threatening to release her sex tape.

She had said she would not be blackmailed for doing something natural with her boyfriend.

During a show on Sunday, she had said nobody was ever going to see the tape.

However, the tape got leaked and in her reaction to this, she took to Instagram to respond to an anonymous person whom she felt leaked it.

“You hated how I was able to control the narrative and get ahead of a story before it consumed me and how I was able to joke on stage about something you thought will destroy me and make me ashamed.

“You must knock my head when you see me otherwise with my full chest.”

There have been different reactions to the embarrassing incident.
