Neglect Of Ward 7 Appointment, Complete Ayakoromo Bridge For Us, Group Tells Okowa

Francis Tayor

Burutu_______ The Concerned Citizens For Izon-Ebe Development (CCFID) has charged the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to complete Ayakoromo bridge project despite the governor's deliberate neglect of the people for appointment into his cabinet.

The group made the call in Ayakoromo yesterday 23rd August, 2019 during a visit at the site, expressed displeasure over the sorrow state and epileptic nature of the bridge project.

Speaking to journalists, the National President of the group, Comrade Oyinbi Onduku lamented that despite the huged support and votes the people of Ward 7 Ayakoromo gave to Okowa during the 2019 election, what the governor can do is to deprived the people of appointment neither show seriousness to complete Ayakoromo bridge project.

According to Comrade Onduku, " The Ayakoromo bridge was awarded in 2013 by the immediate past governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Dr.Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan. But unfortunately the project has suffered some level of set back due to lack of Political Will and financial commitment by the present government. It would be a thing of joy and honour for governor Okowa to complete the bridge project in order to take the glory for his administration."

" We therefore, urged the SMART Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to show some seriousness by releasing reasonable amount of fund for the contractor to complete the bridge in a shortest possible time.

The bridge project when completed, will connect road network to Okrika, Furukama,Ezebiri,Gekebo Obotebe,Burutu,Odimodi, Ogulagha and other neighbouring riverine communities both in Ughelli South, Bomadi and Warri South-West local government areas, the group stated."

Group Charges Asupa, Pullah To Wake Up In Legislative Business, Commends Guwor, Ighrakpata, Oviejitobor For Legislative Sagacity

....Says Ayakoromo Bridge, Kiagbodo Agbodobiri Road, Ogbobagbene Ojobo Road Needs Attention

Francis Tayor

Burutu_____ A social cultural political interest group under the auspices of Concerned Citizens For lzon-Ebe Development (CCFID), has urged the members representing Burutu North and South Constituencies in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon.Asupa Forteta and Hon.Pullah Ekpotuayerin to wake up their legislative business, stressing that the duo should start projecting the problems facing the people of Burutu before the Delta State government and other development agencies for attention.

The group also commended the members representing Warri South-West, Udu and Uvwie Constituencies in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon.Dennis Emomotimi Guwor, Hon.Uviejitobor Peter and Hon.Solomon Ighrakpata on their timely legislative alertness by drawing the attention of Delta State government, as well as other interventionist development agencies to the plight of their people.

The group in a Press Statement signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Oyinbi Onduku said; " Most first time members in the State House of Assembly have started making case for their people. Why my Constituency reps are yet to speak for us. Is it that they don't know the problems of Burutu people? Burutu people urgently needs the completion of Ayakoromo bridge, so as to connect road network to Burutu. The road from Ogbobagbene to Ojobo, Kiagbodo to Agbodobiri road etc needs government attention."

" It is expected that, our elected representatives should earlier raise their voices before the state government in respect of the needs of their constituencies for prompt attention.

Incase Hon.Asupa and Hon.Pullah is not aware, the first time member representing Warri South-West Constituency, Hon. Guwor Emomotimi has started registering students for JAMB as Scholarship for his Constituency Education Support Programme.

What are the  programmes of Asupa and Pullah for Burutu Constituency students. They should start working, much is expected from them by Burutu people, Comrade Oyinbi stated. "

However,  It will interest the good people of Burutu to note that, yesterday Wednesday 21st August, 2019 after sitting in Asaba, the member representing Udu Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon (Chief.) Peter Uviejitobor while addressing the Press, advocated for a bridge project across Enerhen River to connect Opete Community, as well as to control traffic and complement the aged long popular Udu bridge in Udu local government area.

Also, his Uvwie counterpart, Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata advocated for his people by charging the newly inaugurated Board of Warri, Uvwie and Environs Special Development Agency to quickly as a matter of urgency tackle the issue of dilapidated roads and epileptic power supply in the area.

But it was very unfortunate that, the members representing Burutu Constituencies dodge the Press, keep mute and nothing to say.

It was based on this ground, the group called on Hon.Asupa Forteta and Hon.Pullah Ekpotuayerin to as a matter of urgency wake up to be up and doing to exercise their legislative functions, the statement adds.

" Gentlemen of the press the state is disturbed of pirates frequent attacks on commercial transporters and residents among riverside dwellers from Warri to Burutu, to Agge Delta boundaries, From Warri to Escravos, to Warri North Rivers of the state. We are very much concerned about it. It is our warning that such criminal elements should clear off our water ways as the state will no longer condone their criminal acts and that any one caught will be dealt with as a common criminal. I want to assure the riverside dwellers and travellers in the state that the state government would soon roll out waterways patrol which may finally put to an end of pirates attacks as experienced today.

Another concern of the state is the unabated increase of cultism in our dear state. The act of this miscreants have destroyed night life in our cities and communities. We are aware that the abuse of use of drugs by the young generation is alarming, expect drastic actions are taken to forestall it, it will end up turning our young youths to nuisance. The authorities saddled with such powers to checkmate drug related crimes should step up more efforts to stop this menace in Delta society before it is too late."

But I want to make it known that governance  is a collective agenda, it is not a sole responsibility of our dear governor or security agents alone but it is a collective responsibility. So to arrive at a most prosperous, secure and peaceful Delta State all hands must be on deck.

Therefore , I  implore all Deltans to join hands with his Excellency in the full realization of his SMART AGENDA project in our craving to retain the pinnacle of cynosure to other states and Nigerians, the statement adds."

Ijaw Youths Warns Asari Dokubo To Stay Clear From Bayelsa State, Stops Him From Holding Pro-Biafra Inaugural Meeting In Yenagoa

Ijaw Youths Warns Asari Dokubo To Stay Clear From Bayelsa State, Stops Him From Holding Pro-Biafra Inaugural Meeting In Yenagoa

Francis Tayor

Yenagoa ____ A bloody clash was averted on Saturday by the police in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, following failed attempts by a former militant leader and Niger Delta activist, Asari Dokubo, to hold an expanded inaugural meeting in support of Biafra.

It was gathered that the Chairman of Ijaw Youths Council (IYC), Central Zone, Kennedy Olorogun, got wind of the Biafran meeting and mobilized his executive council members and other youths to the venue of the gathering.

Olorogun was said to be angry that Dokubo chose Bayelsa, a homogeneous Ijaw State, to hold such meeting and ordered the founder of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF) to leave the state or face the wrath of the youths.

It was learnt that Dokubo, who recently declared his support for the actualisation of Biafra, gathered over 300 persons from across the states in the South-East and South-South to hold the meeting.

The meeting was reportedly convened under the auspices of the Biafra National Council (BNC) and not the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Confirming the development, Olorogun said over 300 persons including Dokubo were already gathered at a hotel in Yenagoa when he led Ijaw youths to the place.
He said quarrel ensued between him and Dokubo when he told the former militant leader that the meeting would not hold in Ijawland.

“When we got the information, we stormed the venue of the meeting to stop them.
“They tried to resist us but we told them we were prepared for them because we will not allow any part of Bayelsa to be used for a meeting calling for the actualisation of Biafra.
“I wonder why Dokubo decided to bring such meeting to Bayelsa. But we stopped them.

“It was getting out of hand but the police intervened to stop possible violence. My happiness is that we stopped the meeting from holding, Olorogun stated.”

Former Nigeria Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu Speakes On His Ordeal In The Hands Of IPOB Members ln Germany

Former Nigeria Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu Speakes On His Ordeal In The Hands Of IPOB Members ln Germany

Francis Tayor

The immediate past Deputy President of the Senate, Sen.Ike Ekweremadu has confirmed a physical assault on him by some members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, in Nuremberg, Germany, on Saturday.

Sen.Ekweremadu confirmed the attack in a statement released by his Media Assistant, Uche Anichukwu in Abuja.

At first it was not clear who or why the Nigerians attacked the Senator. However, it was later confirmed that the attackers were members of IPOB who has sworn to continue attacking ‘corrupt Nigerian leaders’ whenever they are seen in Western countries.

In one of the viral videos on the social media , Ekweremadu was seen being violently questioned over his alleged conspiracy with the Federal Government of Nigeria to proscribe the IPOB in the South East and killing several of its followers.

The Senator who also gave account of the event on his social media handle @ iamekweremadu, however, assured that he was safe. He condemned the attack and said he had immediately reported it to the Nigerian Ambassador to Germany, Mr Yusuf Tuggar.

He said: “I attended the Second Annual Cultural Festival and Convention organised by Ndi-Igbo Germany in Nuremberg today where I was billed to give a keynote address along with the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, who, however could not make it eventually.

“I was given a resounding welcome by Ndigbo in Germany and everything went smoothly until some men, who identified themselves as IPOB members stormed the venue and began to complain about the killings in the South East, stressing that there would be no Igbo event at the venue.

“I tried to engage them, but when they became unruly, I had to leave the venue. The organisers also invited the police and I was accompanied out of the venue.
“Much as I am disappointed in their conduct, especially as I am one of the persons, who have spoken up on justice for Ndigbo, the Python Dance, judicial killings in Igbo land and elsewhere both on the floor of the Senate and in my written and personal engagements with the Presidency and the media as well as rallied the South East Senate Caucus to secure Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s release with Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe taking him on bail to douse tension in the South East, I nevertheless do not hold this to heart against them, for they know not what they do.

“I have received thousands of solidarity calls and messages from well meaning Ndigbo. I want to assure them that I am hail and hearty. I have also spoken with the Nigerian Ambassador to Germany, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar.”

“So, at this moment, Siasia will be unavailable to speak to the press.

“I want to also appeal to you all to be patient with us, considering the fact that he is already going through so much stress with regards to his mother’s kidnap which we are dealing with at the moment.

“We appreciate you all for your concerns and solidarity messages which have received from the onset of this situation.
“So, my kind appeal is that you all give us some time for the lawyer to look into the case and as soon as possible, hopefully by next week, we will come up with our position and further action to be taken on the issue.

“On behalf of the family of Siasia, we want to once again thank you for your concerns and we pray that this will end well,” he said.
FIFA had said in a statement on Friday that the adjudicatory chamber of their independent Ethics Committee found the 51-year-old Siasia guilty.
He was “guilty of having accepted that he will receive bribes in relation to manipulation of matches in violation of FIFA Code of Ethics.”

Siasia played 51 times as a striker for the Nigerian national team and later coached various national youth sides before his first spell as senior coach in 2010.

His case is the latest to emerge from FIFA’s long-running investigation into the activities of Singaporean Wilson Raj Perumal, who FIFA has called a “known match fixer”.
He has admitted such activity in several interviews.
FIFA said Siasia was banned for life “from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international levels.”
Siasia was also fined CHF 50,000 (N18.6 million).

The former Nigerian international was appointed Super Eagles head coach from 2010 to Oct. 2011 and he was reappointed in 2016.
