Aladja/Ogbe-Ijoh Renewed Killings, IPDI Mourns Slain Former Member Comrade Taylor Agofugha, Urges Delta State Government, Security Agents To Fish Out Perpetrators

Francis Tayor

We received the news of the death of our former member Comrade Taylor William Agofugha who hailed from Ogbe-Ijoh with a rude shock.

We were all jubilating when we read on the news that Aladja and Ogbe_Ijoh communities had signed a peace pack and that final peace has returned to the once troubled area a week ago.

We are still in the dark, as we are yet to imagine what nature of peace Accord both communities had signed?

Comrade Taylor was slain at the noon day on 15th October, 2019 at his house behind Warri Southwest Secretariat in Ogbe-Ijoh town.

He was attacked and shot death while he was reportedly doing some maintenance works in his compound.

The invading militia youths who short him death was identified as Aladja youths by Ogbe-Ijoh community.

The dead of Taylor is irreparable loss, and a big blow to IPDI and Ijaw nation.

Late Taylor was one time APC councilor candidate and ADC candidate for Delta State House of assembly of Warri South West LGA.

We have lost a rare gem, a bread winner of his family. We pray God to give us and his immediate family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

We call on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa ,the CO 3battallion, Nigerian Navy and Commissioner of police ,Delta State to fish out the perpetrators and made them to face the music of the law without a further delay for the interest of peace in the state.

However, we'll greatly missed late Taylor and his services to mankind. May his gentle soul rest in peace, Amen.

Signed:

Comr. Emma Keneware,
Acting Secretary
Ijaw People's Development Initiative, IPDI.

OML40 Dredging/Exploration Project, CCEK Charges Polobubo/Opuama Communities To Release Belief-Gbene Compensational Funds And Tender Original Documents, Seeks Lasting Peace In Egbema Oil Rich Territories

OML40 Dredging/Exploration Project, CCEK Charges Polobubo/Opuama Communities To Release Belief-Gbene Compensational
Funds And Tender Original Documents, Seeks Lasting Peace In Egbema Oil Rich Territories

Francis Tayor

Warri____ Prior to the ongoing tension over OML40 Dredging, Drilling, Pipeline Installation and Exploration Job/Process project compensational funds in Egbema, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, the Concerned Citizens of Egbema Kingdom (CCEK) has intervene on the matter by calling on Polobubo/Opuama Federated Communities to release the compensational funds due to Belief-Gbene Community, as well as tender the original documents of the project for peace to reign.

The group in a Press Statement today 15th October, 2019 signed by the President General, Snr Comrade. Benjamin Ofiyai BBC, condemned the fraudulent act of the oil committees, thereby urging them to tender the original documents quickly for accountability. They equally appealed to Belief-Gbene Community to calm down, stressing that Polobubo/Opuama Communities will attend to their demands immediately.

According to the Press Statement read; " The national leadership, stakeholders and members of the most famous and foremost intellectual pressure group of Egbema kingdom as again today 15th day of October 2019 seeks a very lasting solution to allow peace in Egbema oil rich territories precisely in *OML40 environ* after a very crucial meeting held yesterday in warri delta state.

Tension in the oil area as regards on *Sunday 13th Oct. 2019* Belief-Gbene community three working days ultimatum which count *monday 14th Oct. 2019* and the exposure of oil committees over embezzlement of community funds and the unjustifiable denial of her host right, omission and oppression melted on their community concerning the OML40: *dredging, drilling, pipeline installation and exploration job/process* which was published by many Nigeria newspapers; we writes as follow;

Very unconformably; it as come to our knowledge that there is a very dreadful tension in the oil creeks of Olodua land where *NPDC/ ELCREST* operates, which needs an immediate and a critical attention hence can breach peace and harmony which can result to insecurity and jeopardize our hard earn resources.

We wish to advice *Opuama and Polobubo federated communities (elders, leaders and youths)* for posterity purpose and also for a lasting peace, justice, equity and for a sense of belonging; to speedily attend to the plight of the *Belief-Gbene community* before it gets out of hand and other communities that have the direct impact of the above job operations

However, unbelievably our attention as been drawn to a claim of exposure to the oil committees that; in their( Belief-Gbene) realest information search, meetings, movements etc, it as come to their notice that; the job was negotiated on behalf of the communities at the rate of *#4,000,000* per acre and over *62 acres* of land was negotiated and that the committees misinformed the communities by reporting that the negotiation was done at the rate of *#2,500,000* per acre and *51acres* of land  that was negotiated therefore the committees lied and went away with a total sum of *#120,500,000* .

It very unbearably and bitterly saddens our hearts that the oil committees are not fair to her people and which has been a problem for long and we are aware of this  fraudulent act which has been on going amongst the oil committee executives polobubo precisely for the past two tenures and must be aborted by all means.

Playing with the collective interest of the people is very bad and absolutely condemnable! We are not going to sweep it under carpet hence; *this fraudulent act must be brought to justice* for peace in our oil rich territories because we believe there is an atom of truth regards the above claims of exposure which need a retreat.

In leaving no doubt, we call on the oil committees led by *Chief Johnbull Adaun* and *Mr Boro Ologun* of *Opuama and Polobubo* communities respectively to tender the original documents of the negotiation for the dredging, drilling, pipeline installation and exploration job/process and environmental impact assessment (EIA) immediately to the communities for a best convince, peace, unity, transparency and accountability.

Even as we utterly condemn the very unbearable fraudulent act of the oil committees and warn them to tender the documents quickly; we wish to advice and call on the attention of  *Belief-Gbene community* for the sake of peace; to please calm down as we implore *Polobubo and Opuama communities* for a smartly intervention.

We conclusively so advice that; *Concerned Citizens Egbema Kingdom CCEK* will never tolerate any act of what so ever that will breach peace and development in our domain meanwhile, we are for development, peace, equity and justice, the statement adds."

Breaking : The Founding Fathers Of Bayelsa State Endorses APC Candidate Chief David Lyon For Governor, Presents The Roadmap For The State Development

Oyinbi Onduku

Yenagoa_____ The founding fathers of Bayelsa State have held a “historic” meeting with the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief David Lyon, to endorse his candidature.

The fathers, led by Senator J.K. Brambaifa, handed over three documents containing the roadmap for the state’s development, the names of the living and their deceased colleagues at a meeting held in Yenagoa at the instance of Lyon.
Brambaifa, while handing over the documents, described the meeting as historic, saying it was the first time a candidate of a party for an election would request to see those that fought for the creation of Bayelsa State.

He said the fathers blessed Lyon and asked him to go and win the election, adding that the candidate had shown that he had the interest of all stakeholders, especially those at the grassroots, at heart.

Addressing Lyon, he said: “We are giving you the memorandum sent for the creation of Bayelsa State, the Kolokuma-Opokuma development blueprint that will help you in your administration, a book in which one of the founding fathers exhaustively x-rayed the problems of Bayelsa State since its creation. We want to proudly present this to you while we wish you all the best.”

Receiving the documents, Lyon said when elected, he would follow the recommendations and blueprints to the letter.
He said he would not disappoint the founding fathers, who sacrificed their time, energy and resources to ensure the creation of Bayelsa, the only Ijaw homogeneous state.

Lyon said he believed in the unity of Bayelsa and vowed to ensure unity in the state. Some of the founding fathers at the meeting were Chief Martins Agbede, Senator Brambaifa, Chief Joe Garb, among others.

Minister Of Interior Rauf Aregbesola Charges Nigerian NGOs To Campaign Against Drug Abuse, Commends CEPEJ For Peace Advocacy And Youths Empowerment Programs Across Nigeria

Minister Of Interior Rauf Aregbesola Charges Nigerian NGOs To Campaign Against Drug Abuse, Commends CEPEJ For Peace Advocacy And Youths Empowerment Programs Across Nigeria

Francis Tayor

Abuja_____ The Minister for Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola has charged civil society and non governmantal organisations in Nigeria to campaign against drug addiction and encourage youths to see education as key to development.

Ogbeni Aregbesola gave the charge when he played host to a team of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ which visited him in his office in Abuja. He advised CEPEJ to focus on education and advocacy towards eliminating drug addiction and ensuring security nationwide.

He lamented that education, which is the bedrock of all forms of development, is very poor in Nigeria, saying that any efforts made by civil society organizations such as CEPEJ to bridge the gap as obtains in the developed world would be highly appreciated.

Ogbeni Aregbesola who was former Governor of Osun State, commended CEPEJ for its activities and projects so far. He encouraged the CEPEJ team to sustain the energy with which it has been driving the mandate of the organization.

He described peace and security as the basic factors for overcoming the challenges inhibiting engagements with government and its agencies, stressing that security is the fulcrum of  national sovereignty.

He therefore stressed the need for stakeholders to make security a community affair so as to effectively manage
the insecurity situation in Nigeria. He emphasized that when community people are involved there will be a drop in security challenges such as kidnapping, insurgency and all forms of crime.

He expressed his strong desire to be part of CEPEJ's 10th annual conference, especially to play the role of a keynote speaker at the event, provided his schedule is clear.

He was excited to note that youths involved in the development sector use private funds as opposed to a situation where youths want to be in governance with little or no management skills or experience.

The Minister of Interior wondered how CEPEJ had been funding its numerous activities, given the level of success achieved so far, and promised to support the organization towards moving it forward.

Responding, the National Coordinator of CEPEJ, Comrade Sheriff Mulade told the Minister that over 90% of the NGO's funds for administrative and programme activities come from a private source, a philanthropic arm of his business, and he was applauded by the Minister.

The National Coordinator thanked the Minister for hosting the CEPEJ team and promised to work on the advice to the NGO to develop programmes in collaboration with the Ministry.

He appealed to the Minister to honour CEPEJ's invitation to its annual conference on the 12th of November this year.

Bayelsa Decides: Another Great tsunami To Befalls PDP As Dickson Strong Grassroot Mobilizer, Commander Clark Kaduna Sets To Pull Out Of PDP Camp If ?

Francis Tayor

Yenagoa______ As the battle for the seat of government in Bayelsa State becomes tougher, another strong grassroot mobilizer to governor Dickson Seriake and the PDP family from Ekeremor axis, Commander Clark Kaduna popularly known as Orutibe has threatened to pull out of PDP Camp with his over 2,000 teaming followers if the party and its leadership failed to address their demands immediately.

Commander Clark who hailed from Ndoro, Torugbene and Ayakoromo both in Bayelsa/Delta issued the statement yesterday 13th October, 2019 at Yenagoa, stressed that he had worked for governor Dickson Seriake during the time for House of Reps, but unfortunately, the governor up till now has not recognised him and his boys for their sacrifice. He noted that the current House of Reps member representing Ekeremor/Sagbama Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Fred Agbedi can attest to his sacrifices and contributions to the election of governor Dickson Seriake into creek haven in two consecutive terms.

In his reactions, Commander Clark Kaduna aka Orutibe said; " the era of politicians use our youths and dumb is over. I am from two States but l play Bayelsa politics. I can no longer work like monkey for bamboo to chop. It's high time governor Dickson Seriake and the PDP family do the right thing before it gets out of hand. As it stands, me and my two thousand followers will shock Dickson and the PDP family if they took my words for granted. I am a good product and l don't market myself. Those who know my worth knows. And I want to strongly emphasize that, in the game of politics, one can not undermine your opponent no matter how small they are, until you are declared winner by the electoral umpire at the end of the poll.

However, I also want to use this medium advise the PDP flagbearer, Sen. Doye Diri to know that, if he puts his hope on governor Dickson as in the days of the party primaries to deliver him in the forthcoming 16th November, 2019 gubernatorial election, he would be disappointed by Bayelsans at the polls. Sen. Diri should play outside the box by reaching out to all aggrieved persons governor Dickson has stepped on toes. The earlier, the better for Sen. Doye Diri and the PDP family to address all standing issues in the party before the opposition parties take advantage of their loopholes, Commander Clark Orutibe sated."

Nigeria Police Exra-Judicial Killing, IPDI Demands For Justice, lssues IGP 7Days Ultimatum To Fetch Out And Bring To Book The Police Officers Involved In The Killing Of Six Edo State Ijaw Youths For The Interest Of Peace In The State

Francis Tayor

Benin_____ The ljaw Peoples Development lnitiative (IPDI), an ljaw interest advocate group has issued a seven days ultimatum to the Nigeria  lnspector General of Police IGP, Mr. Abubakar Mohammed Adamu, to bring to book the police officers involved in the recent extra-judicial killing of six Edo State Ijaw youths in alleged framed up charges, stressing that the deceased are law abiding citizens, and never plotted to abduct someone, neither involved in any criminal kidnapped cases in Edo State.

The group made the call in a Press Statement at Benin, dated 10th October, 2019 jointly signed by the national President, Comrade Ozobo Austin and its Spokesman, Mayor Timi Ogobiri charged  lnspector General of Police, Adamu Abubakar to as a matter of urgency investigate and bring to justice the commissioner of police Edo State, as well as the police officers led by Mr. Balogun in the state CID for the extermination of six (6) ljaw youths within 7days for the interest of peace in the state.

According to the Press Statement read; " We received a distress calls from our Edo-Ijaw brothers on the 8th October, 2019 that Seven(7) law abiding Ijaw youths were framed up and murdered in extra judicial manner by police officers attached to state CID with unsubstantiated, unfounded and basless allegations of plotting to abduct someone in the state.

We were told that the youths were picked by Mr Balogun , OC anti- kidnapping squad  in their houses when they were asleep. They were arrested with no arm and any form of resistance. They made their statements and were detained in State CID at Edo state force headquarters, and after some days in police detention, 6 Ijaw youths Mr. Okoh Omus, Yeke None Agbefun and hope Tortor Uroupa and three others were brought out from the police cell and were given extra-judicial murder by the squad led by Mr. Balogun. And the next day one Lawani, the seventh person was granted bail with the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (#500,000.00).

This case is different from the alleged shoot out between police and suspected kidnappers in the state. None of these 7persons engaged any shoot out with the police as they were arrested based on unfounded intelligence report from their homes.

This is a gross misconduct as no police officer has the right to kill any suspect under detention, except ordered by a competent court of law. They were killed on mere speculations and suspicion, no trial and conviction. This is a jungle justice. Nigeria has been turned to banana republic. It is a pity that police under the current IGP have become lawless and blood sucking. We demand for justice. The commissioner of police, Edo state and the said squad led by Mr. Balogun must give account of the death of the said 6 Ijaw youths without further delay.

It is appalling that the police is now the court to order for summarily execution of suspects under its facilities, exercising a power that the police does not have. The youths were mere suspects, they have freedom of fair hearing, their right to life has been violated. They were killed without trial. This is unlawful and a sheer murder. We are aware of the script the police in Benin are playing, but we are not perturbed because the end shall justify the means. If they have actually committed crime, they would have been charged and tried in court. The law made it clear that killing suspects after obtaining statements is punishable by law. Those police officers must face the music.

We are disappointed by the action of the police in Edo state, as the killling smack a display of hatred for the Ijaws in the state. Some Benin youths threat Ijaws in an online video parading with aka 47 rifles but no one of those guys has been arrested uptill now. This shows that the police has already taken side with the Benis against Ijaws in the state. The Benis are now hiding under the police to be killing the Ijaws. This shows that the ethnic war between the Benis and Ijaws has started already.

This is an ethnic cleansing agenda, Nigeria police are now out to kill all aboriginal Ijaws in Edo state has been contracted. This is unacceptable as we will not fold our hands over this sheer murder. We are sending a formal petition to IGP as well within the coming days.

Therefore, we call on the inspector general of police to investigate and bring to justice the commissioner of police Edo state, and the police officers led by Mr. Balogun in the state CID for the extermination of the 6 Ijaw youths within 7days for the interest of peace in the state, the statement adds."

Signed:

Comrade.Ozobo Austin,
President IPDI

Mayor Timi Ogobiri,
Acting Spokesman IPDI

Bayelsa Decides: Governor Seriake Dickson Recruits 60 New Special Foot Soldiers, Tagged SAs To Bury APC Permanently ln The State Comes 16th November

Bayelsa Decides: Governor Seriake Dickson Recruits 60 New Special Foot Soldiers, Tagged SAs To Bury APC Permanently ln The State Comes 16th November

Francis Tayor

Yenagoa_____This development was announced in a statement signed on Thursday by Fidelis Soriwei, chief press secretary to the governor.
The appointees, drawn from the eight local government areas of the state, Soriwei said would help the government finish well.

“His Excellency the Governor of Bayelsa State, Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, has approved the appointment of 60 new Special Advisers as part of the deliberate efforts to enable the Restoration Government to finish strong in the avowed commitment to deliver effective governance to the good people of Bayelsa State,” the statement read.

The appointment comes weeks to the state’s governorship election fixed for November 16.
Soriwei further said the “governor has directed the caucuses to nominate women for appointment as special advisers next week, in areas where they have not been considered for appointment.

“However, the government and the party deplore the ungrateful and unpatriotic attitude of a few appointees who have been sustained and recognised in the midst of far more qualified persons for over seven years but are falling prey to the antics of the All Progressives Congress which is inducing party members with money and fake promises.

“While the government wishes them well in their new endeavours, it is pertinent to note that for every appointee, the PDP has several other more qualified people who are ready and willing to be trusted with such privileged positions of responsibility.”
Dickson, who is completing a second term, have had over 2000 appointees in his cabinet since he got reelected in 2016.

Bayelsa APC Disunity Continues As Party Suspends lt's State Chairman, six others Over Gross Misconduct And Anti-Party Activities

Bayelsa APC Disunity Continues As Party Suspends lt's State Chairman, six others Over Gross Misconduct And Anti-Party Activities

Francis Tayor

Yenagoa____ The post primary election crisis rocking the Bayelsa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the November 16: governorship poll has deepened following counter suspensions by two camps of the party.

It was gathered that the development has widened the disunity in the party, which is facing two litigations from two aggrieved frontline governorship aspirants in the concluded internal poll, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri and Preye Aganaba.

The fresh crisis was said to have started following the decision of the State Working Committee (SWC) led by its Chairman, Jothan Amos, to suspend some executive members loyal to Lokpobiri.

The Amos committee after its deliberation suspended the Deputy Chairman of the party, Ogeibiri Orubebe; the Legal Adviser, Chris Olorogun; the party’s Chairman in Ekeremor Local Government Area, Amasighan Azikiwe; Ekeremor’s Secretary, Olorogun Isaac and Chairman, Sagbama, Peter Bofumu.

Amos accused the suspended members of the executive committee of gross misconduct and anti-party activities, saying they were indicted after investigations.

He said following the emergence of Chief David Lyon as the party’s candidate in a direct primary poll, party members were expected to forego their grievances in the overall interest of the APC.

He said the refusal of the suspended members to drop their grievances was an indication they were against the party adding that their actions could hamper the victory of APC.

The Assistant Organising Secretary of the party, Tari Emberru, who raised the motion for their suspension, insisted that the affected persons were undermining the unity and constituted authority of the party and should be shown the way out.

Also the state party Auditor, Doumo Ogbomani argued that the affected persons acted against article 31 section A; subsection 7 of the APC constitution, stressing that a house divided against itself could not stand.

But in a swift reaction, the affected executive members convened an emergency meeting and announced the suspension of the party Chairman, Jothan Amos, and six other executive members.

Others suspended by the camp are Mr. Martins Alabo, State Secretary; Mr. Peres Oyadongha, Senatorial Youth Leader; Mr. Iniekenimi Senator Mitin, LGA Youth Leader Ekeremor; Mr. John K. Williams, LGA Organizing Secretary Ekeremor; Mr. Osadebe Ezinrin, LGA Treasurer Ekeremor; and Lovely Agwor, LGA Organizing Secretary Sagbama.

The camp said the action was in pursuant to the report of the State four-man Disciplinary Committee, which investigated and indicted them for abuse of office.

The camp in the meeting presided over by the State Deputy Chairman, Orubebe Ogeibiri, said it resolved that their suspension would serve as deterrent to others and instill discipline and loyalty among party members.

According to a copy of the resolution, the suspended party chairman, was accused of “refusal to account for millions of naira that accrued to the state chapter of the party as administrative charges on National and State Assembly aspirants.”

Amos was also accused of conniving with the state party secretary, Martins Alabo to violate rules on withdrawal of the party’s money lodged in the bank.

APC State Secretary, Mr. Martins Alabo was “accused of flagrantly breaching the party’s constitution by presiding over State Executive Committee meetings and inaugurating a purported Disciplinary, Contact and Reconciliation Committees contrary to Article 14(3)(vii) of the APC constitution.

Others were accused of impersonation and connivance to deliberately create divisions among party members.

The camp said the party appointed the State Vice-Chairman, Bayelsa Central, Chief Fala Ebierein Etubo as Acting Chairman in line with the APC constitution.
