Delta ljaw Proposed Hosting Of Ibori ln February Postponed, Says Mulade

..... A new date will be announced soon

The Ijaw People in Delta State (IPDS), on Saturday February 6th 2021, announced the indefinite postponement of the planned hosting of the former Delta State Governor Chief James Onanefe Ibori, scheduled for February, 2021.

The reason for the postponement of the event in a statement by the convener, Chief (Comrade) Mulade Sheriff, is to comply with the Federal government’s directive on large gatherings.

The postponement was a painful decision by the organizing committee to adhear strictly to the Federal Government’s instruction on COVID-19.

Chief Mulade said they were expecting a massive turnout of over twenty thousand sons and daughters of Ijaw Nation and others from Delta State and Niger- Delta to grace the epic occasion in Bomadi town,  Bomadi LGA where they have chosen for the event.

While expressing regrets over the postponement and inconveniences this must have caused invited guest and the general public who may have tailored their affairs to be at the occasion, Chief Mulade said it is very pertinent that we should be conscious of our health by protecting ourselves and others by staying safe. He assured the people that a new date will be announced soon.

Let's Unite For Victory, Hon. Ogboru Tells Ethiope East APC

Let's Unite For Victory, Hon. Ogboru Tells Ethiope East APC

A former aspirant for the Delta State House of Assembly seat to represent the good people of Ethiope East constituency, Hon Rex Onajite Ogboru, has called on the leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area to embrace peace, urging them to unite for victory ahead of the March 6 council polls in the state.

Recall that on Friday, Hon. Ogboru in company of key Ethiope East APC party faithful and leaders held an all important meeting in order to push for unity in the party.

A source in the party said the just concluded LGA primaries in Ethiope East APC was marred by irregularities, imposition, lopsidedness and suppression/intimidation of voters.

Adding: “These mishaps had given rise to bad blood, disunity, dissatisfaction and anger in some quarters.”

This development, he said made stakeholders in the party to set up a reconciliation committee to seek for the return of lasting peace.

This yielded no much result, as litigation, accusations and counter accusations were the order of the day.

But, in a swift move, leaders in Ethiope East were determined to close ranks as they prepare for the forthcoming elections.

An array of notable party leaders like Chief Okpuibigho, Chief Julius Ogboru, Chief Igbru and Hon. Rex Enajite Ogboru at the said meeting appealed to all those aggrieved to give peace a chance.

Sources at the meeting said the move paid off as anger gave way for peace.

Oasis Magazine (OM) gathered that Hon. Barr. Ejiro Etaghene and Hon. Voke Ighorodje came to a compromise to foster the way forward for the party and agreed to work together to enable the party come out victorious next month.

Speaking to Oasis Magazine (OM), Hon. Ogboru said “the fruitful olive branch meeting is a testament to the fact that unity in APC is the only way to reclaim power from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) who he said are without a candidate for the March 6 LGA elections.”

“Unity is the only sure way for victory,” Hon. Ogboru opined, as he thanked God for making the restoration of peace possible, saying that the APC is set to take over the council and bring meaningful development to Ethiope East after the March 6 polls.

Onduku To Latimore, Stop Been Myopic, Okowa Was Biased ln School Upgrade Project

Onduku To Latimore, Stop Been Myopic, Okowa Was Biased ln School Upgrade Project

...... Charged him to render public apology, says Chief. Mulade didn't goofed, he only made an appeal to Gov. Okowa

Francis Tayor

An ljaw youth leader and the President Concerned Citizens For Izon-Ebe Development (CCFID), Comrade Oyinbi Onduku has proved Mr. Fred Latimore wrong on his unguided statements by calling an ljaw revered chief, who is a renowned global philanthropist cum peace advocate, Comrade (Chief). Sheriff Mulade goofed on his recent call on the Delta state government to as well upgrade Burutu School of Marine Technology, Warri College of Education as well as Esenabe college Bomadi among Anwai, Agbor and Ozoro campuses he recently approved for upgrade in order to be fair and just to all ethnic groups in the state.

Onduku in a Press Statement released on Thursday at Warri, expressed displeasure over Latimore usage of poor choice of language against the ljaw respected peace advocate who had made so much impact and contributed meaningfully to the Okowa led administration in terms of peace building, education development, security and youth leadership capacity building across the state.

The ljaw youth leader lambasted Latimore as myopic and bereaved of what to say by tagging an appealed Mulade made as goofed as very unfortunate and need to be cautioned by every well meaning individual in the society. He advice Latimore to go back and read to understand the content of Mulade message to Gov. Okowa and do the needful by rendering public apology over his unguided utterances against the ljaw leader.

According to Onduku, said: " l don't have time to drag issues with Latimore on the pages of newspaper, but l want him to be mature in dealing with matters of public interest. If Gov. Okowa can upgrade two institutions to university standard from one senatorial district in Delta North, what stops him from doing thesame in Delta South? Gov. Okowa should know that what is good for A is also good for B. He should be fair and just to all Deltans. Mulade drawing Delta state government attention on the need to upgrade Burutu School of Marine Technology to University of Fisheries, College of Education Warri to university of peace and conflict studies among others is not out of place.

If more schools may be upgraded in the future as Latimore alleged, why can't you air your view politely and commend Mulade for drawing Gov. Okowa attention to the needs of riverine dwellers instead you prefer to make mockery of yourself before the public. Is Latmore the only appointee of Gov. Okowa who always derives pleasure in making unguided statements against anybody that speak the truth to the present administration?

In addition, were was Latimore when Mulade built the neglected government secondary school, Kokodiagbene to a modern boarding school and handed it over to Gov. Okowa led Delta state government?

Is Latimore not aware of the annual ljaw/Itsekiri peace and unity football tournament cup been sponsored by Mulade in order to foster unity and peaceful coexistence among the two tribes in the state? What of the Mulade Quiz and Essay competition been organized annually in government secondary schools across the state?

The recent one was the Office of lntelligence Department Mulade built for the Nigerian Police Force at Warri Area Command, that attracted the new Delta CP to applaud him for his wonderful works towards a better society."

" If l may ask, what has Latimore done to affect lives meaningfully in the state? Can he just come up with one thing he had done for his people?  I advice Latimore to always make his findings before coming to the public to defend his boss in making such unguided statements. I urged Latimore to render unreserved public apology to Chief. Mulade because he (Latimore) was the one that really goofed, Onduku asserted. "

Shocking As DNA Shows Delta Judge Okorodas 3 Kids Are Not His Biological Children

Shocking As DNA Shows Delta Judge Okorodas 3 Kids Are Not His Biological Children

Ladies and gentlemen of the Press, I thank you for attending this Press Conference. I have taken the decision to address the Press in respect of certain traumatic developments that have arisen between me and my ex-wife, Barrister Celia Juliet Ototo of the Ototo Family of Ovom in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. It is now nearly 11 years since our separation and divorce. This Press Statement is important in order to prevent damaging speculations, half- truths and outright lies from persons who may want to cash in on the tragedy that has befallen my home.

Sometime during the coronavirus lockdowns early last year, I received information from an anonymous source that indicated that the last of the three children from my previous marriage was in fact not my biological child.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions at the time, I had to wait until August 2020 to carry out a DNA test. The DNA test result which came out in September 2020 confirmed that I was not the biological father of the child.

Consequently, I convened a joint meeting between my extended family on the one side, and Celia’s paternal and maternal families (i.e., the Ototo Family of Ovom Town and the Agbagidi Family of Yenagoa Town) on the other side, where I confronted her with the paternity fraud allegation. Although she initially strongly insisted that I was the biological father, she has since confessed to having the child with another man during the course of our marriage.

This repulsive act of my ex-wife prompted me to conduct DNA tests in respect of the two other children. A few days ago, the results came out. Sadly, none of them is my biological child.

This abomination has caused excruciating mental trauma to me, my present wife, Barrister (Mrs) Ebi Okorodas and all of the innocent children involved. This is particularly so for Ebi, who has had to agree to having DNA tests on the four children of our own marriage. Thankfully, the test results confirm each of them to be my biological child.

It is important to state that Celia walked away from the marriage when her youngest child (who is now 17 years of age) was just 6 years old. Since then, all of her children have lived with my wife, Ebi and I, and we have been wholly responsible for their wellbeing and education. Friends who are close to my family would readily attest to the fact that unless specifically informed, no one could tell that the children were not the biological children of my present wife.

Ebi and I would continue to support the children in any way that we can. Indeed, even after the release of the first DNA test result which proved that I was not the biological father of the last child, we have continued to pay for his education in a private boarding school. The two other children are University undergraduates. The first, a female, will be a graduate later this year, and the second will soon enter his 4th year of study. We pray for them to overcome the trauma and become responsible citizens of our country.

For Celia and her boyfriend or boyfriends, we leave them to their conscience. Thank you very much.

The Hon. Justice Anthony Ezonfade Okorodas, PhD. Judge

High Court of Delta State

Mulade Calls On Gov. Okowa To As Well Upgrade Burutu School of Marine Tech, College of Education, Warri to Universities

Mulade Calls On Gov. Okowa To As Well Upgrade Burutu School of Marine Tech, College of Education, Warri to Universities

A traditional High Chief in ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade has appealed to the Delta State Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to include notable technical schools and colleges of education located in Ijaw and Itsekiri areas of the State in his planned school upgrade to universities.

Chief Mulade, the Ibe-sorimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom and the National Coordinator of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, made the apoeal at Benikrukru Town in Warri South West LGA of the Delta State, while addressing newsmen on the planned upgrade of some institutions to universities in the State.

The peace advocate alleged that the planned upgrade of Collage of Education Agbor to a University of Education; the  Anwai Campus of DELSU to a University of Agriculture; as well as the Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro to a University of Science and Technology, was calculated at upgrading only College of Education Agbor, but to douse tension and avoid open confrontation and accusations from other quarters of the State, the Governor technically included two other schools.

Chief Mulade who is also an educationist, further appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to include the School of Marine Technology, Burutu, the College of Education, Warri and Sinebe College, Bomadi to give a sense of belonging to Ijaw and Itsekiri ethnic groups in the planned school upgrade as development projects.

He said the Marine School of Technology, Burutu should be upgraded to a University of Fisheries, Marine and Environmental Studies; the Collage of Education Warri to a University of Peace and Conflict Studies; the Sinebe College, Bomadi to a University of Youths Development and Leadership; while the State School of Nursing Ofuoma-Ughelli to a University of Nursing and Midwifery Studies. He said when this is done, it will improve the educational prowess of the ethnic nationalities and the State in general.

Comrade Mulade noted that failure to upgrade any of the recommended institutions in Ijaw and Itsekiri areas of the State would be regarded as a deliberate plan by the Governor to neglect the cry of the people and worsen the educational situation of the affected areas.

He said it would be unfair to the Ijaws and Itsekiris of the State if the Governor ignored this appeal because they are the ethnic groups that contribute the largest financial quota to the State's development funds.

Mulade Salutes Buhari Over Appointment Of New Service Chiefs, Calls For Restructuring Of Nigeria

Salutes Buhari Over Appointment Of New Service Chiefs, Calls For Restructuring Of Nigeria

..... Says Now is Best Time to Do So

Francis Tayor

Abuja_____ A Niger Delta born development activist and peace advocate, Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari, and Nigerians for the appointment of the new service chiefs, noting that it will put an end to agitations from the people of the need to rejig the security apparatus of the Nation. He also joined other stakeholders in Nigeria to call for the urgent restructuring of the country following the mismanagement of the nation’s resources, as well as the endless marginalization of the South-South Region of the country.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja on the issue, Chief Mulade who is the National Coordinator of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, an NGO, said the calls for restructuring by politicians, religious and ethnic groups in parts of the country, especially in recent times, show that restructuring is the only solution to the Nigeria's problems.

Speaking on the role of the Niger Delta in national development, Chief Mulade, the Ibe-Sorimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State, said the region is the main economic live wire of Nigeria by virtue of its crude oil and gas productions which earn the Nation huge financial incomes. He, however, lamented the utter neglect of the oil and gas rich region in terms of infrastructure, health, road construction, economic and human empowerment, as well as security and education, amongst others.

Chief Mulade, a front-line development advocate politician in Warri South West LGA of Delta State, expressed sadness over the high level of political marginalization of the Niger Delta people, many of whom are qualified to work for the growth and development of Nigeria but are unfortunately not included in the present adminstration, and are rather ridiculed when making suggestions for nation building.

While commending President Muhammadu Buhari for his proactiveness towards tackling the Insecurity challenges, especially with the appointment of the new service chiefs, he however noted that restructuring is part of the developmental agenda of the All Progressive Congress ( APC ), as a party. It was also one of the main reasons the people voted the party to power in the first place. Mulade charge the presidency to listen to the voices of the people and restructure the country now before it is too late. Chief Mulade said the call is necessitated by the rise in the spate of insecurity across the Nation.

Fulani Quit Notice: Group Defends New Oyo Commissioner Of Police, Onadeko From Ethnic Bias

Fulani Quit Notice: Group Defends New Oyo Commissioner Of Police, Onadeko From Ethnic Bias

Daniel Dafe, Abraka

A group in the Southwest region of Nigeria, Egbe Omo Oduduwa Women League, has defended the new Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mrs. Ngozi Onadeko, for her bravery, professionalism and competence in handling the security challenges in the state amidst the quit notice handed to Fulani herders in Ibapara axis of Oyo state, saying that she has demonstrated lots of professional and unbiased acumen in carrying out her duties so far.

The President General of the Women League, Deacon Iyabo Abosede, in a statement released in Ibadan, extolled the professional virtues of CP Ngozi Onadeko who hails from the Igbo speaking South East but married to a Yoruba man.

The statement said that “by law and tradition, the CP is a Yoruba lady by marriage and thus has no business with the outlawed indigenous People of Biafra IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who wants to taint the sterling records of CP Onadeko through his unfounded campaign in Sahara Reporters and other online media platforms.

The group said: "We are firmly in support of CP Ngozi Onadeko’s competence to bring peace and justice to the good people of Oyo state and indeed the South West people who are faced with dire security challenges.”

Egbe Omo Oduduwa Women League warned the likes of Nnamdi Kanu to rather than promote ethnic division, a situation that already has plunged Nigeria into a state of chaos to desist from such acts henceforth.

“This is a time when we should rather focus on what unites us rather than what divides us. The situation in Oyo State looks under control. The CP needs our support and not unnecessary jabs to set apart ethnic groups,” the statement added.

According to the statement, “Kanu’s statement asking her to flaunt the order from the Inspector-General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, for the immediate arrest of Igboho and threatening to deal with her family in Igbo land, depicts him as an enemy of Nigeria.”

Recall that Kanu had advised the new Commissioner of Police to resign from her position, saying she was strategically appointed to foment regional enmity.

“We have no doubt that she will handle the issue the best way possible,” the statement concluded.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Onadeko in a statement by CSP. Fadeyi Olugbenga, noted that the actions of Sunday Igboho led to the recent clashes between Fulani herdsmen in the area and the host community of Igangan.

She however warned that nobody will be allowed to cause further breakdown of law and order while an investigation has been launched to determine details of the Igangan incident and bring perpetrators to justice.
