Just-in: Disregard UPU Edevbie Endorsement, Comr Abeh Tell Deltans

Matthew 7:15; beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.

It is quite unfortunate that the leadership of the highly respected Urhobo apex body, the Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) is now shamelessly living in falsehood and self-deceit because of stomach infrastructure.

The UPU spoke about zoning the governorship seat of Delta State by the three senatorial zones, and how the agreement has helped to bring peace and unity to the state. In their hasty scheming to collect the spoils of endorsement, they forgot to tell deltans the type of zoning we are practicing i.e; zoning by tribe or senatorial zones? And they equally forgot to mention how the zoning will be: either first in each round will continually be first in every round or it will start from back to front.

The leadership of the UPU rubbished themselves in mud by endorsing David Edevbie and even standing surety for him as if they are reliable people.

The UPU leadership failed to tell deltans why they supported David Edevbie to contest against Delta North slot in 2014 PDP governorship primaries, when they knew they have already had their eight years?

In the spirit of zoning, no Delta North person purchased the PDP governorship form against the Urhobos or Ijaw in 2022, but the UPU almost truncated the so-called agreement against Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan in 2007, when they funded Great Ogboru of DPP against PDP, then repeated it against Delta North in 2014. How do they want Governor Okowa to believe such conscienceless people let alone deltans to take them serious?

Do they think Delta North politicians are weaklings, no, they are peace makers, they practice what they preach, not that they are afraid of violence.

We make bold to say that, David Edevbie has no experience let alone the credential to govern a state.

In the ignorance of these selfish dealers (UPU leaders), they claimed that David Edevbie has both national and local experience of governance, how?

As at the last check, David Edevbie was a Private Secretary to late President Umar Musa Yar-adua for approximately two years.

How can a man who was a private secretary (not Principal Secretary, Special Adviser or Minister) have more experience than a Deputy Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, former Minister, Speaker of a State House of Assembly and former Secretary to the State Government?

What experience is UPU talking about concerning David Edevbie that Ovie Omo-Agege who was a former Commissioner in Delta State, former Secretary to Delta State Government and currently the Deputy Senate President of Nigeria do not have?

Is there any experience David Edevbie has that Festus Ovie Agas who was a former Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, former D-G of DLA, former Secretary to Delta State Government, former Chief Strategist to Delta State Government and currently the Chief of Staff to the Governor do not have?

What about Fred Majemite, Speaker Sheriff Obovweri and others? David Edevbie is the least experienced among them all.

Is the so-called Urhobo government aware that David Edevbie aided the stealing of Delta State money to fund Umar Musa Yar-adua's election as PDP candidate in 2006 presidential primaries just to be made a common private secretary?

Is UPU aware that David Edevbie aided the stealing of the recently recovered £4.2million (four million and two hundred thousand pounds sterling) from the British Government that is still with the Federal Government?

Are these shameless signatories of the UPU aware that David Edevbie aided the stealing of Delta State $15million (fifteen million dollars) Chief James Ibori used in bribing Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and that money is in CBN?

Is the UPU aware that David Edevbie and Ighoyota Amori were in charge of the notorious Ibori's government that stole our monies?

Is the UPU aware that Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan told the listening audience in Government House when he won his election case in Tribunal that, so many innocent blood were shed in the Government House by previous administration, that he will not tow that path as a child of God? Who shed the blood of innocent deltans and for what purpose?

Are the leadership of UPU moved by their stomachs or they were hypnotized by their human-god?

Instead of the UPU to beg deltans for the wasteful administration of Chief James Ibori that David Edevbie played a pivotal role, they are begging the Governor to hand over to David Edevbie as our next governor.

Now we know the real enemies of the people. 

The leadership of the UPU are not happy because no one is stealing free money for them to share every Friday, therefore, want to support the candidacy of a man whose meaningless position in the late President's office was bought with our tax payers money.

If the leadership of the UPU is sincere to themselves, they would have done this their foolish endorsement before the Urhobo aspirants purchased their expression of interest and nomination forms, not after buying the forms. They would have even done it before DSP Ovie Omo-Agege declared his intention to run for the Office of the Governor of Delta State.

The leadership of UPU only spoke for their insatiable appetite for our state treasury that has been out of their reach for almost sixteen years now, therefore, looking for means to relaunch themselves back to business.

We hereby appeal to the Governor and the good people of our state to disregard the foolish endorsement of an aspirant by the dealers in-destinies known as the leadership of the UPU, they want us to remain perpetually poor and slave to them.

Insecurity: Reps blame Buhari, tell him to Remove NSA, Minister of Defence

One week after a marathon meeting with leaders of Nigeria’s security architecture, the House of Representatives, on Wednesday, lamented the rising spate of insecurity in several parts of the country especially Benue, Taraba and Plateau states.

Members of the House took turns to criticise the action and inaction of the regime led by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), restating their earlier call for a declaration of emergency on security.

While some called for the sacking or resignation of the National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd.) and the Minister of Defence, Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi (retd.), others called for the shutdown of the National Assembly, partly blaming the federal parliament for not doing enough in its oversight of the Executive arm.

The leadership of the House and security committees had on Tuesday last week met with security chiefs over the growing insecurity in Nigeria, especially on the recent attacks on the Kaduna International Airport and an Abuja-Kaduna train.

The meeting, which was held behind closed doors, lasted over four hours.

However, the lawmakers returned to the chamber on Wednesday to lament the incessant killings and abductions by terrorists across the country.

Chairman of the House Committee on Navy, Yusuf Gagdi, moved a motion of urgent public importance titled ‘Terrorist Attacks on Kanam and Wase Communities of Plateau State,’ while Messrs Bem Mzondu and John Dyegh moved a separate motion of urgent public importance on killings in Benue State.

 

Gagdi partly said, “We were elected by the people to represent them here, with a specific mandate mentioned in the Constitution. It begins to beat my imagination whether that function donated (sic) to us is rarely being practised by all the tiers of the government. Before we do anything, the first responsibility is the security of life and welfare of the people, then any other thing.

“Nigerians are being killed on a daily basis. The four angles of Nigeria…nowhere is safe. What is beating my imagination more is that aside from the killings, who is responsible? Not in terms of the people that are committing those atrocities; the Nigaerian government has come out on different occasions to say they know them. They call them terrorists, bandits and Boko Haram in some regions. ‘Who is responsible’ is the question.”

The lawmaker added, “We have a President, we have governors, we have the National Assembly, we have Senators and Representatives put together. Who is responsible for the safety and security of lives and properties of the people of this country? Of course, without any fear of political misrepresentation, it is Mr President.

“Is our President aware of what is happening to the people of this country? Is he holding the strategic operational commanders responsible for the failure in the protection of life and property of the people of this country? Before people are killed, one of the operational commanders must be (held) responsible.”

 

Gagdi further lamented that the National Assembly has kept appropriating more funds for the security forces, while nobody is held accountable for the growing insecurity in the nation.

“There must be someone somewhere that has neglected their responsibility or discharged of their duty to the best of their ability"', he stated.

Warri______ Deputy President of the Senate in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), His. Excellency, Sen. Barr. Ovie Omo-Agege, the Obarisi of Urhobo land, has officially declared his intention to Deltans to contest for the seat of Governor, Delta State come 2023.

The distinguished senator made the declaration on Thursday 14th April, 2022 at the campus of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) Effurun, in Uvwie Local Government Area of the State, has promised to build a New Delta.

Omo-Agege said in the New Delta, there will be equal job opportunities for the teeming unemployed Delta youths, uninterrupted power supply to sustain stable economic growth, building of hospitals, industries, schools, attract foreign investors to invest in Delta, construction of massive road infrastructural development, building of bridges to link riverine communities amongst others where Deltans would be proud of.

He noted that because of the mandate Delta central gave to him, he was able to upgrade PTI to Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), and also influenced Federal Polytechnic to Orogun. Provision of brown new Transformers and solar powered street lights to all the communities in Delta central. 

According to Omo-Agege, said he and Sen. Nwaoboshi has also influenced Federal Law School Campus to Delta State. A new Federal university of Agriculture is also coming to Ndokwa nation influenced by him and Peter Nwaboshi. 

Speaking further, Omo-agege blasted Gov. Okowa for marginalizing the people of Ukwani, Isoko and Ijaw nation for paying them back evil instead of good, after the people trusted him the leadership of the State. 

In his words, he said: 

" Delta Central is my comfort zone, if l want to run for senate again and again, l know you people will vote me. But l have decided to leave and step forward to become the governor of Delta State so that l can expand my developmental tentacle to all part of the state.

The time has come for you to take your own destiny by your hand. Say enough is enough to PDP Okowa led bad government and entrust me your mandate to become the next governor of Delta State, and l will perform wonders within a twinkle of an eye to transform Delta State. Today, l offer myself, for the office of Governor, Delta State come 2023, Ovie Omo-Agege asserted".

In his reaction, a former Delta South Senatorial aspirant and a Chieftain of the APC Delta State, High Chief. Michael Johnny, on behalf of the Delta ljaws openly endorsed distinguished senator Ovie Omo-Agege for Governor, assuring him of bloc votes from the three major ljaw local government areas of Bomadi, Burutu, Patani and that of Warri North, Warri South as well as Warri South-West respectively.

Johnny reiterated that there is nothing like Ijaw Agenda in Delta State, and that the ljaws will wait till 2031. He said the Ijaws in Delta State have unanimously agreed to withdraw their 2023 governorship ambition bearing in mind that it is not yet the turn of Delta South to produce the governo. He noted that after distinguished Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege have successfully rule his two tenure, and thereafter handover to ljaw governor come 2031, Johnny concluded.

On his part, Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Delta State, Sir. Omeni Sobotie noted that there is no two ways about it that the APC in Delta State is coming out strong to take over the state from PDP come 2023. 

" With this compassionate mammoth crowed that turn up with solidarity for the sake of Omo-agege, Deltans have decided to siege out PDP bad maladministration in the state over the past 22 years.

Don't allow yourselves to be used by PDP in the State again, we are fully prepared to take over Delta come 2023. Be rest assured that Sen. Omo-agege dream to build New Delta is a divine call from God.”, Sobotie stated.

In the early hour of Tuesday 12th April, 2022, the Director Ministry of Works, Delta State Asaba, Engr. J.C. Aboloje alongside her deputy, Engr Victor Oputa and Engr. Kenneth Okpor, (Superintending Engineer, Burutu LGA), visited Ayakoromo Bridge Site in Burutu Local Government Area of the State, in other to ascertain the level and quality of work done, as well as to urged the contractor to increase the pace of work so as to meet up with the state government directive to complete the project within 15months time.

This was followed by the recent development of Delta State government upward review of the total cost of the project in other to reflect current reality of things, as His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, gave marching order to the company to finish the Bridge in 15months time.

Speaking to journalists during the site inspection visit, Engr. J.C. Aboloje, who is the Director Ministry of works, said they are on site to know the level of work done as well as to charged the contractor to double up effort to finish the bridge project as expected, since the state government has released fund. She stressed that the State government has given a marshing order for the speedy completion of the Project, hence it is expected that the construction company should do his own part of the bargain by fully mobilize to site for action.

Therefore, " We are here today to give first hand information to the Government as to know if DISIMPRO NIG. LTD, a subsidiary of ZEROCK CONSTRUCTION COMPANY has fully mobilized back to site. As we can see, the site Manager, Engr. George Tannous, the CLO Dcn. Desmond G. Edumogiren and other staff field workers are on site working. That is to say that the company is fully on ground and very much ready to complete the bridge before the state government stipulated time for Commissioning. We are hopeful that before this month runs out, we shall be on site to constantly monitor the work", Engr. Aboloje stated.

Reacting to the development, the Community Liaison Officer, CLO of the company, Dcn. Desmond G. Edumogiren, thanked and appreciated the State Government's renewed commitment towards the project. He noted that Governor Okowa upward review of the project shows that he is a listening governor and man of the grassroot people.

According to him, said: " Our company has fully mobilized to site. As you can see, our boys are working, materials such as granites, rods, smiths etc are being moved to site. In the water, we are left with three pillar points to cross the river. We have prepared bims on ground already. Once the water pillars are completed, the next step is to couple the bims and work done. I want to thank the governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. lfeanyi Arthur Okowa, for matching his words with action by promptly releasing fund for the contractor to work. We are believing in God for sustenance of the mutual relationship until we finish the bridge at the stipulated time", Edumogiren noted.

In his reaction, the Company site Manager, Engr. George Tannous also appreciated the State Government commitment towards the project. He assured Governor Okowa of the company's readiness to deliver the project within the stipulated time frame. He solicited for cordial cooperation from the government in terms of prompt fund disbursement whenever the need arises.

However, he appealed to the youths and people of Ayakoromo and Egbo-lde Communities to create the enabling environment towards the Speedy Completion of the Project, Engr. George  stated.

The group raised the alarm on Monday 11th April, 2022 at Ojobo Community, headquarters of Oporomo Kingdom through a Press Statement after emmergency meeting, stated that they are aware of the antics of some sons and daughters of Operemor Kingdom using their political and economic powers to single handedly pick one person as king against other interested persons in the race.

Speaking on behalf of the Elite People's Forum (EPF), the Chairman, Chief. John Amatari said Oporomo Kingdom don't want handpicked king at this trying time, saying let the selection process of the new king be free and fair to all the interested contesting aspirants. He emphasized that Oporomor Kingdom needs selfless and patriotic son to be installed as king and not otherwise. 

The group reiterated that they want a transparent process whereby the best candidate who has the people at heart, the influence, capacity and popularity to deliver the kingdom from underdevelopment.

Moreso, We call on Council of chiefs, stakeholders and compatriot citizen of Operemor Kingdom respectively, to please let there be consensus decision to select someone who can rely on to fly the flag for a greater height, to bring tangible development.

On that note, we strongly condemned the imposition of  candidates Operemor Kingship to supporters and stakeholders in Operemor Kingdom. We want fairness, equity and justice in the forthcoming selection process and want the most influential candidate to fly the throne.

A Yahoo boy has taken to the internet to reveal that he has been given 12 billion by the devil to spend in 12 years.

As disclosed by the sakawa guy, he’s even tired because 12 billion is too much money to spend within just 12 years which is highly impossible unless he intentionally buys a lot of stupid things.

He additionally explained in the caption attached to the fast trending video attached that he was instructed never to invest the money or give it to any family member except to spend it lavishly on anything he wants.

In a statement issued by the forum Chairman on Monday 11th April, 2022, Chief. John Amatari said, we are here to install leader and not to deceived the gullible supporters, and not by I'm contesting give me  stool to rule when the individual is not even prepared to rule. The wise ones has said, give those who are ready to serve the common man of the kingdom (Operemor) championed by Amatari had said, we should work for a candidate who has integrity and popular to the masses, such person should be consider as the next Pere of Operemor Kingdom.

As a grassroot leader, we don't want to jeopardize any selection in our prospective jurisdiction and really want to take the best amongst them in irrespective. The Elite People's Forum (EPF), been an intellectuals  in the local government and the State, we have agreed that, we will work for a candidate who has the influence, popularity and integrity to deliver the kingdom at the general public it's what we'll do, else the kingdom might turn to upside down.

Moreso, We call on Council of chiefs, stakeholders and compatriot citizen of Operemor Kingdom respectively, to please let there be consensus decision to select someone who can rely on to fly the flag for a greater height, to bring tangible development.

On that note, we strongly condemned the imposition of  candidates Operemor Kingship to supporters and stakeholders in Operemor Kingdom. We want fairness, equity and justice in the forthcoming selection process and want the most influential candidate to fly the throne.

If an elderly person cooks himself as rice, little children will eat him with spoons.

The case of Chief James Ibori wanting to plant his footsoldiers in government in every election is no longer a big deal to deltans because of how we respect him as the first man to have govern our state for eight uninterrupted years. But, the annoying aspect is the boastful manner in which he has been going about talking to deltans in trying to impose David Edevbie as Okowa's successor, Ighoyota Amori as Senator for Delta Central and his daughter as the member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representative, as if the state belongs to him alone, while we are slaves.

Chief Ibori ought to have apologised to deltans for looting our treasury dry and using part of the stolen billions to fund PDP presidential primaries in favour of late President Umar Musa Yar-adua in 2006 and his subsequent election in 2007.

What did we get as a people from that financial wastage, David Edevbie was made a Private Secretary to late President Umar Musa Yar-adua. Today, he is going about campaigning with it as a feat he achieved, without being remorseful that our state treasury was emptied just to influence that singular appointment.

When a criminal becomes hardened he throws all sense of dignity and shame to the wind.

Chief James Ibori is no longer ashamed of coming out to speak in public as an ex-convict, rather he is warning deltans not to go against his wish of making David Edevbie our next governor, Amori as Senator for Delta Central, while his biological daughter as the member to represent Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representative, what a gut? 

How can a man who looted Delta State dry between 1999 and 2007 have the guts to be forcing his wish on us in a democracy?

Does Ibori think we are fools in this state or what?

This is a man who is supposed to be hiding his face in shame, now going about laying curses on whoever that will not support his co-travellers.

David Edevbie and Ighoyota Amori were key players in the in the looting of our state treasury by Chief James Ibori, therefore, they have no business holding any office on behalf of the people of the state until they repent, apologize and make restitution. 

We even expected them to have used this period to go round begging deltans for forgiveness over the way and manner they aided the looting of our state resources by their principal who was convicted and jailed in the UK, than telling us they have what it takes to transform our state and create jobs for our unemployed.

Is Chief James Ibori still aware that Delta state £4.2million is with the Federal Government, another $15million with the CBN, while the British Government seized some of the properties worth hundreds of millions of pound sterling he bought with funds he stole from our state?

Meanwhile, huge amount of money was moved out of his Oghara country home the day he was declared wanted dead or alive by the Jonathan's administration in 2010. Who owns the money if not Delta state?

The most annoying aspect is the attempt to remove a very vibrant representative (Ben Igbakpa) from the House of Representative for his incompetent and lazy daughter who has nothing to show for the eight years she wasted in the State House of Assembly.

Ibori's daughter is the chief absentee in the history of Delta State House of Assembly, and the House made her the Committee Chairman on Appropriation based on Ibori's influence.

It is a well known fact that Hon Tony Elekwekuri is the one acting for her, because she lacks the knowledge of the job, staying permanently in Lagos and always traveling.

Chief James Ibori has no moral justification to give deltans Okowa's successor, because whoever he is presenting is from his criminal gang of reckless looters.

We have respected him enough, we are taking back our state back from political demons who only want to satisfy their economic needs with our treasury.

Deltans will decide who governs them as from 2023 and beyond, not a godfather or whatever again.

When sorrow invades our lives, it can really test our limits. I am saddened to hear the news of the passing away of your beloved mother, our mother into internal glory, please accept my sincerest condolences. 

Death of a dear mother is excruciating, one that can't be forgotten in hury. I do know tears in the eyes fades away after awhile but those in the heart will continue to remain for lifetime...which is why the pain of losing a mother lives as long as you are awake to see the brightness of the stars & moon.

I hope that you are finding yourself able to draw on strength you did not know you had.

Grief is like the ocean, it comes in waves ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim at the current realities.

Those we love and lose are always connected by heartstrings into infinity. 

Though words may offer little consolation, but be rest assured that you're not alone in this agony, we'll offer our immersed prayers and support during this trying times.

Warri_____ There was a great boost to the rulling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Burutu local government area of Delta State, as a strong stalwart of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Cyril Suokumoh, resigned his membership from the APC and officially decamped to PDP with many of his teeming supporters.

The ceremony which took place on Saturday 9th April, 2022, at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Ward 7 Secretariat Ayakoromo amidst the party Chairman, Prince Kelvin Perekeme, the Councilor representing the ward, Hon. Ayabotu Otoro amongst other party faithfuls.

Mr. Suokumoh who was a former Vice Chairmanship aspirant of Burutu Local Government Council under APC platform took the bull by the horn to move ahead with his life without considering the Burutu born APC billionaire leader who happens to be his own cousin brother from Ayakoromo Community.

Receiving the decampees on behalf of the party, the ward 7 PDP Chairman, Prince Kelvin Perekeme stressed that the umbrella party is wide enough to welcome as many of his members who absconded to the opposition in one reason or the other.

Mr. Perekeme stated that Ayakoromo is PDP from time immemorial, noting that there is no opposition party in ward 7 as far as Ayakoromo is concerned. He urged the new decampees to feel free and be committed to the party guidelines and ideology, adding that they all will be treated with equal right and justice.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Mr. Suokumoh Cyril said he made a great mistake and regretted for playing opposition party game over the years. He noted that for Ayakoromo ward 7 to move forward, we must remain in one Party and that is PDP.  This is the first badge of decampees, more people are coming to join the PDP after this day.

According to him, said since he was in the opposition party, there was no meaningful development the APC party had brought to Ayakoromo that benefited the masses. All the achievements and progresses made so far in the community are from PDP. 

" l thought it wise that if we come together in one big family and do things in unity, greater dividends of democracy will come to our community. My decamping from the main opposition party to the rulling party in the state today with my teaming supporters is born out of the love and interest l have for my people. The APC clueless government has inflicted so much pain and hardship to our people since they came into power in 2015. I am not coming to spy and go back, but fully prepared with clean heart to join hand with the leadership of PDP in order to move our dear Community forward, Suokumoh stated."

However, some of the decampees present at the occasion include; Hon. Ebikeseye Odibo, Mr. Ekoboye Sunday and Chief. Doctor Bousine in a story titled: ' Tension as Aghoro ll blocks Shell Entrance lnto KP29 Manifold in Bayelsa', through this medium dated 6th April, 2022 to misinform the public with blatant lies that Aghoro ll Gborou Community has blocked the only access road of Shell to get entrance into KP29 Manifold line at Ramos River, in Ekeremo LGA with timbers and woods over breach of contract.

In a Press Statement released on Sunday 10th April, 2022, and signed by the inccubent Paramount Ruler (Amananaowei) of Aghoro ll Community, HRH. I.B. Ojukonsin, the Opinion leader, Chief. Alex Toweizei and Mr. Papin Alabo, the Youth President of Aghoro ll Community respectively stated that, there is No entity or geographical location known as " Aghoro ll Gborou Community" which the above mentioned names falsely claimed to be an host community to SPDC, urging them to desist from misinforming the public with concocted stories from the pit of hell.

Our attention has been drawn to a publication in the “Niger Delta Mirror” (NDM) with the above caption dated 6th April, 2022, authored and sponsored by Chief Afro Biukeme and his co-travelers churning out spurious information regarding Aghoro II Community intended to hoodwink the unsuspecting public.

Having said this, we the accredited leadership of Aghoro II Community hereby writes to counter the said publication in the Niger Delta Mirror dated 6th April, 2022 in its entirety.

First of all, we the good people of Aghoro II community are as peaceful as a Scotsman and our relationship with the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) could be likened to two peas in a pod-we are good friends.

Therefore, the stories and information contained in the publication of Niger Delta Mirror dated 6th April, 2022 about Aghoro II community is simply a daydream and a flight of imagination of Chief Afro Biukeme and his cohorts. We state vehemently that there is NO entity and or geographical location known as “Aghoro II Gborou Community” which the authors falsely claimed to be an SPDC host community. It is worthy to clarify the public at this juncture that “GBOROU” is only a fishing camp owned by Aghoro II Community where SPDC KP29 manifold is situated and all benefits accruing from the above SPDC facility goes exclusively to Aghoro II Community. Therefore, the only SPDC host community is known and referred to as “AGHORO II COMMUNITY”.

Furthermore, we want to state clearly for record purposes that all the expanse of lands, creeks, rivers, Lagoons, fishing camps and settlements etc located within the geography of Aghoro II Community is solely owned by the community and NO individual, group and or family have the right whatsoever to lay any claim to any part thereof.

In specific response to paragraph one (1) of the said publication, we want to inform the general public that Aghoro II Community never at any time gave SPDC an ultimatum over any matter and WE or any living being NEVER blocked SPDC access road to KP29 Manifold with timbers and woods. We the people of Aghoro II Community had NO grievances, differences and or issues to resolve with SPDC. As noted elsewhere in this counter piece, Aghoro II Community and SPDC are best of friends and partners in progress.

Therefore, the purported blockage of SPDC entrance to KP29 manifold on the 6th of April, 2022 as contained in the Niger Delta Mirror authored and sponsored by Chief Afro Biukeme, Mr. Ebikeseye Odibo, Mr. Ekoboye Sunday and Mr. Doctor Bousine was a vain imagination and concocted story designed to mislead the unsuspecting public. As we write this piece, SPDC activity and operations are going on in “Gborou” smoothly and unstoppable because Aghoro II Community is behind them. In the same vain, we want to state also that there was NEVER a time or day military men were being used by SPDC and or any individual to intimidate leaders of Aghoro II Community as presented in the said publication.

The Nigerian Army is present in all pipeline locations deployed by the Federal Government of Nigeria to collaborate with surveillance contractors in ensuring the safety of all pipeline assets due to the threats of pipeline vandals and crude oil thieves. The Army has not acted beyond their mandate of securing the Federal Government assets. It is therefore foolhardy to try to drag the name of the Nigerian ARMY in the mud. 

In addition to the above, the general public should NOTE THAT SPDC does NOT owe Aghoro II Community as claimed by Chief Afro Biukeme and his pocket of followers. The alleged two years benefits and entitlements is a castle in the sky and we urge Chief Afro Biukeme to wake up from his daydream. In the words of Alexander Pope, “He who tells a lie is not sensible of how great a task he undertakes; for he must be forced to invent twenty more to maintain that one”.

Finally, we agree that there are issues in the community with regards to who is the authentic chairman for 2022-2023 tenure and same is before the Bayelsa state Government pending resolution, but there is NO issue of Kingship in Aghoro II Community. We hereby state in plain terms that Aghoro II Community is ably led by HRH I.B. Ojukonsin as the Paramount Ruler (Amananaowei) of the Community, gazetted and recognized by the Bayelsa state Government of Nigeria, a position he will hold for a life time. 

THERE is NO vacancy yet. Maternally Chief Afro Biukeme is from Aghoro II Community but he operates fully in Esanma community in Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta state where his father hails from. Sad, so sad that Chief Afro Biukeme left his father’s home town to come and disturb the peace of his Grandmother’s community because of his personal interest.

We urge SPDC and the general public to ignore and disregard Chief Afro BIUKEME and his co-travelers as they are struggling in vain to line their private pockets against the collective will of Aghoro II Community.  We also use this medium to specifically warn SPDC NEVER to have anything to do with Chief Afro BIUKEME or fall to his antics as (he) Chief Afro BIUKEME DID NOT and never represent the interest of the collectivity.

The United States made history on Thursday April 7, as the Senate confirmed Ketanji Brown Jackson as the first Black woman ever to serve on the Supreme Court.

 

The Senate voted 53 to 47 to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson as the 116th Supreme Court justice. When sworn in this summer, Jackson will be the first Black woman to serve on the nation’s high court.

“This is one of the great moments of American history,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said before the vote. “Today we are taking a giant, bold and important step on the well-trodden path to fulfilling our country’s founding promise. This is a great moment for Judge Jackson but it is an even greater moment for America as we rise to a more perfect union.”

President Biden called the vote a “historic moment” for the nation.

“We’ve taken another step toward making our highest court reflect the diversity of America,” Biden posted on Twitter with an image of him taking a selfie with Jackson.

All 50 Senate Democrats, including the two independents who caucus with them, voted for Jackson’s confirmation. They were joined by three Republicans: Sens. Mitt Romney of Utah, Susan Collins of Maine, and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska.

 

Jackson, who currently serves on the US court of appeals for the DC circuit, will replace Stephen Breyer, 83, the most senior member of the court’s liberal bloc. Breyer, for whom Jackson clerked early in her legal career, said he intends to retire from the court this summer.

First of all, we the good people of Aghoro II community are as peaceful as a Scotsman and our relationship with the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) could be likened to two peas in a pod-we are good friends.

Therefore, the stories and information contained in the publication of Niger Delta Mirror dated 6th April, 2022 about Aghoro II community is simply a daydream and a flight of imagination of Chief Afro Biukeme and his cohorts. We state vehemently that there is NO entity and or geographical location known as “Aghoro II Gborou Community” which the authors falsely claimed to be an SPDC host community. It is worthy to clarify the public at this juncture that “GBOROU” is only a fishing camp owned by Aghoro II Community where SPDC KP29 manifold is situated and all benefits accruing from the above SPDC facility goes exclusively to Aghoro II Community. Therefore, the only SPDC host community is known and referred to as “AGHORO II COMMUNITY”.

Furthermore, we want to state clearly for record purposes that all the expanse of lands, creeks, rivers, Lagoons, fishing camps and settlements etc located within the geography of Aghoro II Community is solely owned by the community and NO individual, group and or family have the right whatsoever to lay any claim to any part thereof.

In specific response to paragraph one (1) of the said publication, we want to inform the general public that Aghoro II Community never at any time gave SPDC an ultimatum over any matter and WE or any living being NEVER blocked SPDC access road to KP29 Manifold with timbers and woods. We the people of Aghoro II Community had NO grievances, differences and or issues to resolve with SPDC. As noted elsewhere in this counter piece, Aghoro II Community and SPDC are best of friends and partners in progress.

Therefore, the purported blockage of SPDC entrance to KP29 manifold on the 6th of April, 2022 as contained in the Niger Delta Mirror authored and sponsored by Chief Afro Biukeme, Mr. Ebikeseye Odibo, Mr. Ekoboye Sunday and Mr. Doctor Bousine was a vain imagination and concocted story designed to mislead the unsuspecting public. As we write this piece, SPDC activity and operations are going on in “Gborou” smoothly and unstoppable because Aghoro II Community is behind them. In the same vain, we want to state also that there was NEVER a time or day military men were being used by SPDC and or any individual to intimidate leaders of Aghoro II Community as presented in the said publication.

The Nigerian Army is present in all pipeline locations deployed by the Federal Government of Nigeria to collaborate with surveillance contractors in ensuring the safety of all pipeline assets due to the threats of pipeline vandals and crude oil thieves. The Army has not acted beyond their mandate of securing the Federal Government assets. It is therefore foolhardy to try to drag the name of the Nigerian ARMY in the mud. 

In addition to the above, the general public should NOTE THAT SPDC does NOT owe Aghoro II Community as claimed by Chief Afro Biukeme and his pocket of followers. The alleged two years benefits and entitlements is a castle in the sky and we urge Chief Afro Biukeme to wake up from his daydream. In the words of Alexander Pope, “He who tells a lie is not sensible of how great a task he undertakes; for he must be forced to invent twenty more to maintain that one”.

Finally, we agree that there are issues in the community with regards to who is the authentic chairman for 2022-2023 tenure and same is before the Bayelsa state Government pending resolution, but there is NO issue of Kingship in Aghoro II Community. We hereby state in plain terms that Aghoro II Community is ably led by HRH I.B. Ojukonsin as the Paramount Ruler (Amananaowei) of the Community, gazetted and recognized by the Bayelsa state Government of Nigeria, a position he will hold for a life time. 

THERE is NO vacancy yet. Maternally Chief Afro Biukeme is from Aghoro II Community but he operates fully in Esanma community in Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta state where his father hails from. Sad, so sad that Chief Afro Biukeme left his father’s home town to come and disturb the peace of his Grandmother’s community because of his personal interest.

We urge SPDC and the general public to ignore and disregard Chief Afro BIUKEME and his co-travelers as they are struggling in vain to line their private pockets against the collective will of Aghoro II Community.  We also use this medium to specifically warn SPDC NEVER to have anything to do with Chief Afro BIUKEME or fall to his antics as (he) Chief Afro BIUKEME DID NOT and never represent the interest of the collectivity. 

We urge SPDC to continue to carry out their activities and operations unhindered as Aghoro II Community is solidly behind them, the statement adds.
