How Kaduna Govt Rescue Man Locked Up Inside Room For 20 Years


A middle-aged man who was locked up inside a room for twenty years has been discovered by environmental officers in Kaduna state.

According to the Nigerian Tribune, the officers found the man in a house in Benin street, in the central part of Kaduna metropolis on Wednesday, October 12.

Their spokesman, who pleaded for anonymity, said they were shocked at the discovery.
“Today we came to this house in search of beverages that were usually kept in residential houses without proper storage facilities when we saw a naked man locked up in a room,” he said.

“We found that he was in an uncomfortable position. The odour coming out from the room was unbearable.

“Later, we broke the room and brought him out. He was behaving like an animal. It was then we learnt that he was kept in the room for twenty years.

“We also found out he was fed in the room. He urinates and passes his faeces in the same room.

“The Magaji Gari police in the heart of the Kaduna Central area were later invited and they took him away.” he added.

The Delta South Senatorial Candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP, Commodore Omatseye Nesiama (Rtd) has visited flood victims at Igbide and Ofagbe Communities in Isoko South and Isoko North Local Government Areas respectively to cushion the effects on them.

Commodore Nesiama also donated relief materials to the flood victims as he sympathized with them.
Some of the items he donated to the flood victims includes, bags of garri, bags of rice, loaves of bread, tuber of yams, sugar, bags of salt, indomie noodles, spaghetti, detergents and toiletries, onion and pepper pastes, biscuits and power oil.

Addressing newsmen, urged politicians and well meaning individuals to put politics aside irrespective of the political affiliation and render help to the flood victims who are suffering.

Commodore Nesiama who was flanked by the NNPP Delta State House of Assembly Candidate, Isoko North Constituency, Dr. Daniel Uroghome also called on the Federal ànd Delta State Governments to immediately put in measures at mitigating the perenial flood as well as its effect on the people.
Accorsing to Commodore Nesiama,”The people should find succour. People should be able to eat, get shelter, IDP camp should be opened for free.”

Commodore Nesiama said the damage the flood has caused is the most pathetic saying,”right behind us is a boat convaning a cops from your village that can not even get to the morgue. They are just trying to make arrangements to see how that can happen”.

He expressed shock at the level of damage the flood has caused the people in the two communities.

He said,”The magnitude of this flood, I did not know, as it did not get to me until I got this place, here to see for myself. I was on my way to Igbide to sympathize with the people.
“Unfortunately, as you can see for yourself, that we could not drive through this water. This is a main road, it’s not a pathway, and we couldn’t drive through. The chairman of the party have to come through with canoe to get here and we have been advised clearly that we can’t get there with vehicle.

“That even with the boat it will take us two hours to get there because there are no speed boat, it has to be paddle. And we have things that we want to give to those people in distress.”

Delta State NNPP Chairman,Chief Friday Efetobor who received the relief materials on behalf of Igbide people, calles on the Federal and State Government to come to their rescue.”We need help from them. We need rescue now. You can see my village people, they are here.”

Chief Efetobor appreciated Commodore Omatseye Nesiama for the donations of the relief materials to the people who were ravaged by flood.

“So, let me appreciate the incoming senator at least your message will get to my people in my village, I want to appreciate you so much. Thank you very much for your rescue, God bless you.”

Two of the flood victims from Ofagbe Community, Baby Oviemuno and Bright Atara also appreciated Commodore Omatseye Nesiama for the donation of the relief materials to them.

They said the flood wrecked havoc in the community stressing virtually all buildings and farmlands were destroyed living them in hunger and relocation from their homes like many others.

The Chairman of Ofagbe Community, Alhaji Musa Bob Oviemuno who received the relief materials from Commodore Omatseye Nesiama said many buildings in their community were submerged by the flood.

Alhaji Oviemuno who was flanked by the Vigilante Chairman of Ofagbe Community, Onyema Jerry also appreciated Commodore Nesiama and his entourage for their visit as well as the donation of the relief materials to the flood victims in their Community.

Our Correspondent monitored the activities reports that indigenes of the two Communities have deserted their homes as flood ravaged their buildings.

The Ofagbe Community, the NYSC Corpers lodge, Gospel Church of Christ, Oketa mixed Grammar School and the Ofagbe District Customary Court were amongst buildings completely submerged.

The Ebe Primary School in Ovrode Community, a nearby community leading to Ofagbe was also swallowed by the ravaging flood.

Accessing the Communities is with the use of speed boats which costs one thousand naira per passenger.

The proverbially universal truth remains that it takes one brave act for alligator to cut itself  open one day for a targeted daring task.Allergic to the pains of a fruitless journey I must reveal quite early  like the persona in Wole Soyinka"s 'Telephone Conversation' that I am 'Chimamandaic' today. Chimamandaic, I would like to tell you what Adichie heartlessly did to Timiebi, how she dismantled her (Timiebi's) dignity without a twinge of conscience and became a violator  of the question of the danger of a single story. From Adichie the world was alerted to the danger of a single story and from the same Adichie the world has suffered a desecration of the respectable principle of storytelling in which all the diverse sides of the story are ideally recognised.

There is a presumption! This presumption journeys around Adichie. For years I had lived with this presumption. Whether or not I should send this presumption on retirement now that the object around which the presumption is built is no more though the driver of this presumption is alive, I do not know exactly because my mouth now appears to have been infected with a 'giant' boil like King Robert Ebizimor.A justifiable presumption it is or not, let the readers critically tell the story after the presentation of the two sides of it as a cautionary guide from the danger of a single story from Adichie.

For years I had presumed Adichie knew who Timiebi was and who Timiebi should be. Adichie knew Timiebi as a hardworking fisherwoman and never bothered about the other components of her. Supposedly, her fishing career and 'fish-philanthropy' rang bell in Adichie's head. In the thinking of Adichie,Timiebi does not merit creative ennoblement from any corner of the world as a fisherwoman.Perhaps it is held by Adichie that whatever Timiebi deserves could be granted her by her fellow fisherwomen in solidarity. Only fellow fisherwomen know how to celebrate their own.How to ennoble and  celebrate Timiebi is not supposed to be the business of Adichie!
That Adichie is silent on Timiebi's death is possibly  derived from the conviction that she is merely a struggling fisherwoman  -  which is a clear demonstration of Adichie's guilt on the question of a single story and this is her own thesis that has travelled round the world as a worthy thought transforming and changing hitherto held perceptions  in storytelling.

Timiebi is the daughter of Ferebo Ezetu and Brafinine Ofiriki of Burutu and Warri South-West Councils of Delta State.She is a remarkable  storyteller  whose career of storytelling influenced and positively changed lives. Her numerous stories told people are still being told by people in inheritance up till now. In the unpublished chronicles of the people  Timiebi is a great storyteller.Now this great storyteller is dead,  awaiting final burial rites fixed for 25 November 2022 at Oyangbene in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.

It is a known tradition that when a great storyteller dies, quotable literary celebrations in forms of poems, short stories, elegies, essays and tributes flow naturally from fellow storytellers. The storyteller first feels dignified by the celebratory literary ennoblements from fellow storytellers as a mark of literary comradeship and solidarity before any other ancillary ennobling encroachments from those outside the storytelling business. The first ennobling literary celebratory dance  should ideally be that of fellow storytellers in the spirit of literary espri de corps.

This woman calledTimiebi actually died in 2020 though her final burial has been fixed for 25 November 2022. From 2020 till now Adichie has not dignified Timiebi with a corresponding literary ennoblement as a fellow storyteller. Literary ennoblements dwelling on the storytelling capacity of Timiebi, the morals in her stories, how the stories have changed the moral perceptions of this generation, how her stories have shaped youths and created a shift in moral decadence and how the stories have influenced the growth of writers in  the society ought to have been the emanations from Adichie and her peers. She would not do any of these because her perception of Timiebi is that of only a village fisherwoman and nothing else who should be content with her death as a fisherwoman without being noised everywhere as when a great storyteller dies.A questionable thought it is from great Adichie!

Adichie is yet to say anything about the retirement of Timiebi from this earth because she is only content with her perception of Timiebi as a 'struggling' village fisherwoman.That is the danger of a single story coming straight from the apostle/activist of the danger of a single story.Adichie has become one of the casualties of her own question of  the danger of a single story though she has always admitted that she too is guilty of it, yet this guilt is more 'performative' and 'fuss-carrying' because Timiebi is first a fisherwoman and secondly, a storyteller.By this infraction from Adichie, Timiebi's dignity as a storyteller has suffered indignities from Adichie's categorisation of her as a struggling village fisherwoman deprived of deserving literary ennoblements at death.Adichie should have considered the other side of Timiebi's story which maintains that she is also a great storyteller beside being a struggling village fisherwoman.Why have you ignored the storytelling side of Timiebi's story, dear Adichie?

Now that it has quite been confirmed that Timiebi is a remarkable storyteller like Adichie, from Adichie let the delayed literary ennoblements for Timiebi pour, carrying in anedoctal dishes the echoes of Purple Hibiscus, Half of a Yellow Sun and Americanah.Timiebi deserves immortal ennobling lines from Adichie and these lines will have to come before 25 November 2022.

Definitely, Timiebi must be lullabied to the ultimate sleep by Adichie's immortal lines. And not until ennobling immortal lines flow like a river from Adichie upon the soul of Timiebi, Adichie remains guilty of the danger of a single story. However, Adichie remains discharged and acquitted in this court of intellectual opinion the moment the ennobling immortal lines flow strikingly upon the soul of Timiebi Maika Ekanpou from the great Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Now condemned and confined in the world of Adichie, Timiebi's undeniable stereotype becomes perpetually that of a fisherwoman cut off from one of her celebrated worlds and  silhouetted  against her storytelling background.

Even with the knowledge of the pendency of  Adichie's  discharge and acquittal,  subject to doing the needful in the intellectual court of opinion,  I 'must quickly add' too like you that  it appears, except for Fide's story and a few others, it is about Timiebi you were futurologically struck when you admittedly said: 'But I must add quickly that I too am just  as guilty in the question of the single story'.

I do know that in this expressive pathology displayed here where your own words are commandeered and 'panel-beaten' into bizarre shapes  and the bizarre words further forced to maintain their bizarre companies to accommodate and suit my  purpose of communicating to you your deviant fluid two-legged dance on the question of the danger of a single story could label me  as a bizarre case of a disguised but pardonable plagiarism  -   though an expressive pathology weighted to reawaken you to see how disastrous you have 'broken the dignity' of  Timiebi's story supposed to be heard from different sides.

It is a classic case of the iguana in Akparemobou Forest predatorily consuming its own eggs from which its own children will be hatched into the unpredictable world of habitation.Some serious 'Chimamandaic' thoughts should be shed here to arrest this backward stirring on the question of the danger of a single story.

The timokoko bird (dove) is known  to noise wildly and dance characteristically backward when a catastrophic flood gradually invades its territory.It is not for nothing that the dove does this frantically and wildly, sending the resultant reverberations to every part of the forest where the threatening ferocity of the flood is felt. If all these breathless accusations frantically deposited at the doorstep of Adichie turn out to be a storm in a tea cup, much ado about nothing, a futile anaerobic intellectual exercise, Adichie must know that some of her numerous believers and fans occasionally walk on the irrational and importunate lane out of undiluted jealousy and undying love when her valued immortal lines go awol or hibernate on the death of a person -  especially when the dead person is a remarkable storyteller called Timiebi Maika Ekanpou whose final burial rite is on 25 November 2022.Dear 

Adichie, when you are through with your reading of this piece that delivers guilty-verdict on you, you may be tempted to Google the works of Timiebi and be updated through careful reading.Please don't!Timiebi is the contextual equivalent of the philosopher called Pythagoras whose thinking reveals that 'In the beginning God geometrised' - that Pythagoras the great ancient philosopher who was not only among the first 'to formulate the science of numbers in a systematic way', but also had a very special interest in the Decad(formed by the first ten natural numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) and the Tetrad(the first four numbers of the Decad 1,2,3,4).In the philosophical thoughts of Pythagoras, number is the governing operational principle of creation deployed by God in His order of creation.This great Pythagoras left no writings for the world at the time of his transition but the echoes of his erudition,learnedness, his admirable intellectual thrusts and achievemements were brought to the fore by his disciples.Like Pythagoras the great philosopher, Timiebi the great storyteller did not leave any writings to this generation to read and cherish;only Timiebi's students, proteges, believers, tell the story of her numerous morally edifying stories.

Finally, after all the presumptions, declamations, philosophical musings, the expressive pathology, the fuss, the hullaballoo and the unconfirmed verbal crucifixion of Adichie turn out to be a lie when she writes back that Adichie does not know that Timiebi had once lived  on this earth and died as a fisherwoman and a great storyteller, her discharge and acquittal  in the intellectual court of opinion becomes automatic. Punitively, the writer here becomes the substitution for Adichie in the violation of the question of the danger of a single story. Meanwhile we must wait for Adichie's response and know exactly where the pendulum swings in the correctional castigation of who has actually erred, even if fractionally, between Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Ekanpou Enewaridideke.

According to a statement signed by his special assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebiri, the appointment of the Twenty Eight Thousand Special Assistants for political units in the State takes immediate effect.

Recall that governor Wike had on Tuesday, 11 October, 2022 appointed 319 Ward Liaison Officers and 40 Local Government Area Liaison Officers.

Abuja_____ The Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Maj.-Gen. Barry Ndiomu (rtd), has ordered an investigation into the alleged sale of scholarship slots by some staff members of the agency.

According to report by Punch, the workers were said to have sold the scholarships meant for Niger Delta indigenes for N650, 000 per slot.

Ndiomu was also reportedly worried about the fact that PAP is paying higher tuition for beneficiaries of its education programmes.

The former military officer, who took over the amnesty programme from Milland Dikio last month, was said to have frowned on the corruption in the agency, especially the scholarship racketeering which has denied many indigent Niger Delta students the opportunity of benefitting from the initiative.
A reliable source, who did not want his name in print because of the sensitivity of the matter, said, ‘’The administrator was understandably worried that the scholarship slots that were meant for Niger Delta indigenes were being sold to outsiders for as high as N650,000 per slot.

“He has also queried the opaque education budget of the PAP. For instance, the administrator observed that the agency was paying higher tuition in schools where it has many students when ordinarily, the agency should get a discount.

“A probe further revealed that the PAP was paying higher fees than what is charged by the schools. These and other discoveries led to the setting up of a probe panel. The panel is expected to unveil the number of scholarship slots awarded, the beneficiaries, and the budget and also recommend punishment for anyone found wanting.”

Meanwhile, the PAP administrator has commenced a tour of the Niger Delta where he is also scheduled to meet with some ex-militant leaders.

Abuja_____ The new Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Maj.-Gen. Barry Ndiomu (retd) has scheduled various meetings with critical stakeholders in the Niger Delta region.

It was gathered that the amnesty boss would hold crucial talks with some governors of the region from October 14.

A source at the Amnesty Office said it would be Ndiomu’s maiden official tour of the region and stakeholders’ consultations since his appointment as the interim administrator.

The source, who spoke in confidence, said the amnesty boss would also meet some leaders of ex-agitators such as
High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo and the King of Okochiri in Rivers State, Ateke Michael Tom.
He said the amnesty boss would use the opportunity to unveil his plans for the programme and also address the issue of winding it down which has been a subject of discourse since his appointment.

The source said Ndiomu would have special interactions with the leaders of phases one, two and three ex-agitators, traditional rulers and security chiefs.

He said: “Already, there is tension in the region especially among genuine ex-agitators, who are apprehensive that the federal government is planning to shut down the programme.

“These planned engagements will help to douse the tension because the ex-agitators will have the opportunities to hear directly from the interim administrator and ask relevant questions”.

Another source also informed that critical stakeholders from across the region would gather for a meeting in Yenagoa, the state capital where all issues bothering them would be tackled by the amnesty boss.

“It is hoped that these meetings will calm frayed nerves as they are designed to help all stakeholders better understand the mission of the amnesty boss”, he said.

When contacted, PAP’s Media Consultant, Donu Kogbara confirmed the arrangement, saying the tour is part of Ndiomu’s plan to have all stakeholders on the same page for the actualization of the programme’s mandate.

Warri ____ The National Coordinator of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, Chief Sheriff Mulade, on Wednesday October 5th, 2022 unveiled the Local Organizing Committee, LOC Jersey for the 2022 Ijaw/Itsekiri Peace and Unity Football Tournament, at Africa for Peace Center, CEPEJ's Head Office, Ugolo-Okpe near Warri, Delta State.

Speaking at the event, Chief Mulade said that the 2022, Ijaw/Itsekiri Peace and Unity Football Tournament also known as Comrade Mulade Sheriff Peace Cup, is to celebrate the age long peaceful relationship between the Ijaw and Itsekiri living in the three (3) Warri LGAs of Delta State. 
While speaking on the date of commencement and venue of the football tournament, Chief Mulade said the football event is scheduled to start on the 16th of November 2022, to mark International Day of Tolerance in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal –SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and then climax on the 3rd of December, 2022.

The venues of the tournament will be at Benikrukru and Ugborodo communities in Warri South West, LGA. He said the selection of the venues was strategic, Benikrukru is an Ijaw community, while Ugborodo is an Itsekiri community. This was to show to the world that both ethnic groups are living in peace and unity, and it will enable both ethnic groups appreciate the importance of peace and tolerance and work to sustain the peaceful coexistence enjoyed by both ethnic groups.
The event was well attended by the local organizing committee, LOC, members and other peace building organizations as well as supporters.  

It will recall that on Tuesday September 20, 2022 at the same venue, Sheriff Mulade inaugurated the LOC committee to kick-start the planning process and arrangement for a successful football tournament. Those inaugurated to serve in the committee were Hon. The Ijaw/Itesekiri Peace and Unity Football Tournament is a biannual football competition organized by Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, coordinated and sponsored by Comrade (Chief) Sheriff Mulade, to promote peaceful coexistence of both ethnic groups after a period of disunity, crisis and disaffection, and to build bridges of unity, socio-economic development, as well as discover football talents at the grassroot level in Warri Area and other parts of Delta State.

Highlights of the event were the presentation of the jerseys to the committee members by the National Coordinator of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, Comrade (Chief) Sheriff Mulade, as well as a group photograph.

Warri ______ Ex-Niger Delta Agitators under Delta Base Camp 1 and 2 Aka Emadaja Camp in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, has written an official letter to the most foremost Niger Delta freedom fighter, High Chief. Government Oweizide Emkpemupolo alias Tompolo, for a courtesy visit in respect of the pipeline surveillance contract job awarded to his firm by the Federal Government of Nigeria in order to safeguard the critical national assets of the nation.
In a four paragraph letter released on Monday 10th October, 2022 and signed by Gen. Abraham Vwaghie, aka Fada 1, Gen. Dimaro Stephen, aka The Land Dragon and Commander Felix lghogboja, stated that Delta Base Camp 1 and 2 Emadaja is the Host Community to Abura Field OM 65, and they has about 96 ex-agitators who voluntarily surrendered their weapons and embraced the Federal Government Presidential Amnesty Programme in 2011.

They noted that the essence of the meeting is to intimate Tompolo how they operate in their domain as well as to map out workable strategies in order to ensure adequate protection of the oil and gas pipeline installations in Emadaja community.
However, the ex-agitators humbly plead with Tompolo for inclusive participation to as well engage Delta Base 1 & 2 Camp so as to patrol and guard oil pipeline facilities located in Abura Oil Field in order to sustain the existing peace and development in the Niger delta region in particular, and Nigeria State at large, the statement added.

1) Suffice to inform you that we of the aforementioned ex-agitators, popularly known as delta base 1 & 2 camp, humbly wish to pay you a courtesy visit with a view to discussing the recently awarded federal government/NNPCL pipeline surveillance contract to your firm.

2) The essence of our visit is to intimate you about the existence of Emadaja delta base camp, which has about 96 ex-agitators who voluntarily surrendered their weapon's and embraced the presidential amnesty program in 2011.

Health Expert Urges Men to Suck Women Breast to help Curb Cancer


Health expert and CEO of Chartma Herbal Health Centre has urged men to suck a breast within October as part of breast cancer awareness month.

Charity Twumasi Ankrah in an interview with KMJ on Prime Morning Tuesday explained that breast-sucking is a major way to help curb breast cancer in women.
According to her, it is very important for a woman’s breasts to be sucked as it keeps the breast healthier.

“Breastfeeding your baby is very important as a woman. That’s why if a woman has not given birth, it is a worry because, at the end of the day, the breast must be sucked.”

She added," If you are a man, please try as much as possible, even if you haven't done it before, for this month of breast cancer awareness, try to suck a breast."
Also, the health expert indicated that the breast sucking needs to be done once in a while and not every day hobby.

However, she has cautioned all men to avoid squeezing the breasts as it may cause pain to ladies, saying"it is not a balloon."

Charity Ankrah also entreated women who are victims of breast cancer to freely cut off the affected breast to protect the whole body from the infection. She believes it is not a death warrant.

"Having breast cancer in one breast is not a death warrant. I should be able to take the one that is affected off so I can have my life.
It wouldn't be comfortable to take all the two breasts off, but I have to be alive to take the affected one off," she said.

She further encouraged, " For the women out there, gather courage if you have to do it. Don't feel shy, and don't feel bad. Just know that you are saving yourself if one breast has to go off once  it contracted cancer.", she asserted.

The Chief Executive of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited Mele Kayari on Tuesday revealed that the Company has uncovered an illegal 4km pipeline from forcados in Delta State to The Sea, and a Loading Port that has operated in the last nine years unnoticed.

Mele Kyari made the revelation when he appeared before a joint senate committee on Upstream, Downstream and Gas, lamenting that though oil theft in Nigeria has been on for over 22 years, the rate it has assumed in recent time is unprecedented.
Kyari revealed that three operational facilities of forcados, bonny and brass oil terminals have all been shut down as a result of the high rate of crude oil theft, leading to the loss of about 600, 000 barrels per day.

The chief executive of NNPC Limited further revealed that in the last six weeks there has been a spill site in Bori community in Rivers state, which may affect the operations of Trans Nembe pipeline If not clamped.

He added that the spill has led to the country losing 120,000 barrels per day, in addition to the hundreds of illegal refineries in the country.

He further stated that, in the course of the clamp down, the company has destroyed 350 illegal refineries, 273 wooden while 374 reservoirs have been destroyed.

1, 561 metal tanks were destroyed while over 49 seized trucks were burnt among others.

He said the implications of the destruction is worse than the Ogoni spillage devastation in the affected areas, which have decimated Agriculture, and fishing in the communities.

He explained that in addressing the menace, NNPCL carried out aerial surveillance of the affected areas, and observed that the economic saboteurs carry out their activities unchallenged.

After over four hours of interface, the lawmakers proposed that capital punishment be put in place for offenders, which will be presented at plenary for consideration.

The committee, also resolved to embark on oversight to Port Harcourt and Warri Refineries to verify NNPC’s claims of Rehabilitation, the statement added.

Lawyer and human rights activist, Chidi Odinkalu, has accused the Ebonyi State governor, Dave Umahi, of instructing armed soldiers to flog civil servants in the State for reporting to work late on Tuesday.

Odinkalu, who took to his verified Twitter handle to make the revelation with a video, did not state the exact location of the incident. He, however, revealed that the incident happened when Governor Umahi went for a project inspection.
He added that the governor, who is aspiring for a seat in the Senate come 2023 to represent Ebonyi Central, allegedly supervised the flogging of the civil servants.

Yenagoa _____ Repentant militant in the Niger Delta region, Mr. Ebi John has applauded the Nigerian Armed Forces for producing the likes of the new Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Maj. Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu, describing him as a man of high level of organizational skills, who is selfless, intelligent and a deadline-driven leader. 

Speaking with newsmen in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital at the weekend, Mr John said Maj. Gen Barry Ndiomu's tone and body language at his maiden meeting with ex-agitators speak volumes of his good intentions for the programme, pointing out that a good administrator is one who can balance multiple tasks simultaneously and delegate when appropriate. 

He said such rare leadership qualities which are critical in the military, are equally highly valued in the corporate world, such that some Fortune 500 companies now seek for retiring vibrant military officers like Maj. Idiomu to be recruited into their management, elsewhere abroad. 

He maintained that planning and the ability to think strategically are useful skills that elevate stand out administrators in their career, stressing that Maj. Gen Idiomu is one of such refined and enthusiastic professional personalities that the Nigerian military has produced in recent times, just he called on all stakeholders in the region to cooperate with him to achieve set goals in the programme. 

Continuing, Mr John pointed out that it was difficult to find any military role that does not confer some advantages on the civilian workplace, saying that even those  persons who seem not to like the military, still admire them for their professionalism, discipline and being able to imbibe team spirit, which according to him, were traits every serious minded civilian organisation will recognize as very useful. 

The ex-agitator maintained that the military leadership experiences acquired through years of rigorous trainings are attributes that could seemingly be placed above others, and that such administrative competences are the ones that can really pay off for a civilian organization led by a vibrant retired senior military officer like Maj. Gen Idiomu. 

He stated that, in the military, money may not be the real incentive in galvanising troops activities, as the men may not even survive to spend such cash because of the probability of one's life in the line of duty, adding that losing a fancy job title or rank may be of much concern to someone facing the prospect of injury or even death.

Mr. John observed that, from the content of the madein address of Maj. Gen. Ndiomu (rtd) to both the management and staff on assumption of duties as coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme,  speaks volumes of his military discipline and deep understanding of human relations and personnel management.
He noted that his rich military background coupled with his avowed commitment to the new assignment, played out from his madein meeting with management staff, stressing that the new helmsman of the programme has clearly demonstrated his good intentions for programme, just as he is bent on service delivery.

The ex-agitator maintained that managers with military leadership experience can always bring their inspirational leadership style to bear on any organization that is willing to invest in them, saying that many businesses are good at planning, but no one does it quite like the veteran retired military officers.

"That is because some of the situations they (military officers) have to deal with, like combat operations and grand-scale logistics, would require far more than a general procedure on how to get from point A to B. Military leaders establish backup plans and perform mission rehearsal exercises to prepare for every foreseeable outcome of a given challenge.

"Leaders who learn their skills in the military can help corporate organizations to improve on how they handle professional development because they understand the benefits of evaluating subordinates and creating a plan to continually improve their performance. 

"There is no doubt that Maj. Gen Idiomu, being a square peg in a square hole, and judging from his successful career and military background, will certainly bring his ernomous leadership perspectives and managerial skills to the table, with a view to positively transforming the Presidential Amnesty Programme into a real human capital development agency to change the narrative for the good of all and sundry in the Niger Delta region", Mr. John stressed.

Police arrests woman who beats her Maid to Death, Dumped body in a bush


Anambra _____ A woman has been arrested after she beat her maid to death then dumped the body in a bush in Anambra state.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Anambra Command, arrested the woman after which she confessed to the crime.
The woman took NAPTIP officials to the bush where she buried the child.

Speaking in Igbo, she said: “I beat her and she started convulsing so I took her to Kings (hospital). Getting there, she died, so I threw her body here.”
