Governor Oborevwori, the Fiction and the Truth-By: Ekanpou Enewaridikedeke

Governor Oborevwori, the Fiction and the Truth-By: Ekanpou Enewaridikedeke

Impetuous and  irrational denigratory  written communications are always seen like water-weeds in the river whenever  elections are about to be held.Sometimes these irrational denigratory outbursts are targeted to conceal a premeditated evil plot hatched for arcane  advantageous placement over their opponents during the conduct of the election. In most cases it is usually after the  concealed consolidation of their election-rigging strategies that they  cover the media space with impulsive irrational outbursts weighted to further reinforce the implementation target of their evil plot as inventive red herrings.Silence becomes suicidal when such moves are spotted. This is the inspiration behind today's journey.

Governor  Oborevwori is undistractedly  a man brimful of  fertile development ideas. Because  his development ideas are pragmatically  fresh and fertile, Julius Berger Plc, the construction giant, is currently in Warri to drive the fertile developmental vision of Governor Oborevwori.Yet, rather ungratefully dead to the developmental productivity of the Delta State Governor, in an ideationally limping, 'kwashiorkord' piece merchandised as a creative red herring entitled 'The Planned Military Intimidation of Alapala Supporters' authored by Moni Seimienghan and  BEKE P. Black of Burutu APC on 6 January 2024, the developmentally determined and situated governor of Delta State, His Excellency Sheriff Oborevwori, was impulsively denigrated in ponderous protesting paragraphs. This is condemnable and  must therefore be correspondingly interrogated  as the antidote to verbal impetuosity.

It is known to everyone in Delta State that House of Assembly re-run election has been scheduled to be held on 3 February 2024 between  Hon.Asupa and Alapala in unit 8 of Ayakoromo in ward seven, and units 9 of Oboro, 26 of Edegbene and 27 of Enekorogha in ward four in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State . It is also a  fact that Hon.Asupa has clear victory possibilities in the four units because they had remained  the unconquered territories of PDP for ages in every election. It would therefore be a fiction for Alapala to get any vote in these four PDP territories in the scheduled re-run.It is only fictional wishful thinkers who incidentally mention Alapala in any matter that borders on the four units where the re-run is awaited because it is only the Asupa DIALECT that is authorised and spoken in the four units of Oboro, Edegbene, Enekorogha and Ayakoromo.

There is no existing record of intimidation of voters anchored by Governor OBorevwori through deployment of gunboats to strategic points either in any election or in  the affected units of the awaited re-run in Delta State. The scheduled re-run is the first election to be held in Delta State with His Excellency Oborevwori as the governor of Delta State. How did the APC come to know the operational strategy of a man yet to be seen in action during election when everybody knows that use of gunboat is the prerogative of federal forces in Abuja under APC government?

Conduct of re-run is the constitutional responsibility of INEC, not that of Governor Oborevwori of Delta State. The pronouncement by Burutu Council APC that Governor Oborevwori has perfected plans to intimidate voters using gunboats and boys is an infantlle, baseless, reckless and impetuous one condemnable in every breath, though the authors of this impulsive and misguided pronouncement have timely condemned and dismissed it as unbelievable by saying that their position is powered by an idle anonymous source.

The  unbelievability, meaninglessness and baselessness of the authors of the impulsive pronouncement is reinforced by their addition that the governor of Delta State has also given instruction to boys to  'cause bloodbath if the election didn't go their way'.In one breath the governor is accused of planned deployment of gunboats; in another breath the governor is accused of using boys.Where will be the turf of the boys if indeed gunboats are deployed? What is the nexus between boys and gunboats?Who are those boys?Any existing record to show that the Delta State governor has a pool of boys from which he could draw and deploy to cause bloodbath in election?Has Governor Oborevwori ever been associated with electoral bloodbath in Delta State?

The incongruity in the use of gunboats and boys shows that the two authors are confused people unqualified to feature in public discourses or interactions because their public pronouncement is motivated by a pathological desire to spoil the name of Governor Oborevwori in relation to the awaited re-run.

Criticism is an integral part of the business of governance because the aim is to chart a progressive part for the government.Office holders are subject to criticism when developing issues necessitate it, not when there are absolutely no issues to be engaged critically. To accuse Governor Oborevwori of planned intimidation of voters  without developing issues that necessitate it points to the fact that the two impulsive authors of lies are totally dead to how elections are usually conducted in any country  - which raises a question mark on their educational credentials and exposure. It also tells the world in clear language that the two confused and disorientated authors have grown pathologically jittery over the impending electoral failure  of Hon.Alapala in the re-run because the four units have unambiguously communicated their  total support for Hon.Asupa. A would-be loser in any electoral engagement is always known to embrace the path of a reputational spoiler as it is being activated against the Delta State Governor Oborevwori by the above two misguided impetuous authors.

The denigratory outburst of the two impulsive authors must have been provoked by a pathological desire to instigate and attract calculated specific federal forces in an election likely to be won by Hon.Asupa with a clear margin. The instigation-consolidated denigratory outburst and complaints of the two confused authors have the character of a veneer for electoral manipulation they  must have devised to wound PDP ELECTORALLY  in the re-run. It is in the character of some persons to devise an advantageous  abnormality in disguise and be the first to embrace the accusatory path as a strategic smokescreen to achieve their target  -  which is what is visible in the denigratory accusatory dance of the impulsive authors.

There are moments one is caught sitting down to evaluate a written communication deposited for readers in a public forum. By every standard of evaluation, Seimienghan(Burutu LGA APC Chairman) and Black(Burutu LGA APC Secretary) are indeed authors and peddlers of nonsense because it is disgusting and nonsensical to verbalise in the public space that the speakership of Hon.Emomotimi Guwor in the Delta State House of Assembly does not enjoy the support and blessing of Governor Oborevwori  and that 'Hon .Michael Dedien AKA Ejele' has always mounted persistent pressure on the Delta State Governor to return Hon.Asupa to the House to assume the speakership as the basis to sustain the structure that produced the governor. This is what they call arrant nonsense regurgitated by the two impulsive authors of lies.Is the governor of a state capacitated to return to the House a non-member and make him a speaker? Is Governor Oborevwori a legislator to be part of the House politics? Why is there a cordiality between the House and the executive arm of government in Delta State where the speakership does not enjoy the blessings of the governor?

Governor Oborevwori should not be bothered by the impulsive outburst of people burdened by ideational constipation and fear of electoral victory. For persons who peddle falsehood from an archive of information that does not exist  anywhere in Burutu Local Government Area    -   a diseased archive that only exists in their imagination  -  only constipation could be their burden which has greatly harmed their political metabolism within the party.

It is safe to say that the publication credited to Burutu APC is a fabrication whose authorship is the individual creation of Seimienghan and Black who have their own personal agenda pursued in the name of APC because the progression of the publication from the Organisation of ideas to communication of the ideas does not have the hallmark of a group position. The publication shows a forced ponderous coupling of disjointed ideas inherent in the immiscibility of oil and water. The ideas don't indicate coherence and unity as disorderly communicated in protesting ponderous paragraphs that cannot meaningfully exhaust one single idea created in a paragraph  -  as their ponderous  impetuous mental exhaustion has the hallmark of a deliberate distraction targeted at the governor of Delta State.

Occasionally, ideas find themselves engaged in warfare when falsehood is injected into a reading space  -  as it has been done by the two famous lie-peddlers.No protesting paragraphs would have been identified in the piece if the publication were a product of persons dialectically grounded in public communication.A governor of Oborevwori's statuture powered  by an ideology of development of Delta State  cannot be bothered and lose sleep over a baseless watery publication authored impulsively by Seimienghan and Black in their chosen moment of  ideational constipation.

Let the two misguided impulsive authors know that Governor Oborevwori is not INEC charged  with the responsibility of conducting  the awaited re-run election. His Excellency Oborevwori is the governor of Delta State who has ideologically distinguished  himself with enhanced peace and security as one of the cardinal principles of his MORE agenda and so will never be associated with anything redolent of violence, bloodbath, disenfranchisement, suppression, intimidation of voters, do-or-die politics and would not tolerate any individuals or groups who have evil plot to create security problems under any umbrella because he is a governor for all Deltans. The Burutu Council APC Chairman and Secretary  who have arrogated to themselves the right to peddle lies should henceforth refrain from dragging Governor Oborevwori's name into matters he knows nothing about because he is the governor of Delta State whose governance style has not attracted or accumulated mud.
Finally, mental alertness and mental debility which  have  describable markers anywhere on earth do vary in their colouration. To accuse Governor Oborevwori of something  out of nothingness could be viewed as a case of political impetuosity, political alertness or political debilitation. If this is what Seimienghan and Black call political alertness or political debilitation, these two impulsive peddlers of lies must be applauded by Deltans for being the first  honourable recipients of the prize of political impetuosity, political alertness and political debilitation which may soon find a partner in ideational emptiness, ideational debility and ideational 'Oberikoberi' of Hon.Julius Otuwo Eyenanaotu's creation in Ayakoromo. And for impetuous peddlers of lies like Seimienghan and Black who shamelessly elevate lies and fiction and superimpose them on the known truth as a calculated strategy to distract Governor Oborevwori, history shall be harsh to them...

The Okpokunou Community on aforesaid date and apprehended Mr. Tojejeme Egbouke, the principal mastermind of the murder of Mr. Daniel Chukwuemeka Ogbosain and handed him over to the police the same day. It is our clients’ further information that upon the said arrest which the supporters and followers of Mr. Tojejeme Egbouke attempted to resist, the said followers went on rampage and started attacking members of our clients’ family within the community and others perceived to have masterminded the arrest and went about destroying properties and valuables worth over N200,000.00 (Two Hundred Million Naira) by estimation, brutalizing and maiming several persons with intent to kill them leaving them in very critical and near death conditions. The assailants who have been clearly listed above further went about destroying dwelling houses and buildings belonging to members of our clients’ family and all other persons perceived to have a hand in the arrest and apprehension of the community chairman who is a murder suspect, which destruction, vandalization, attack, maiming and series of assault have continued unabatedly from the aforesaid date of arrest till date. The assailants have in furtherance of their brazen resistance and protest over the arrest of the community chairman continued to hold members of our clients’ family in incarceration subjecting them to several dehumanizing treatments, putting them in some local detention cells and further subjecting them to horrible conditions in which some persons are tied up and fastened to electric poles within the community and left in such conditions for very long periods until some prescribed fees are paid for their release''

"We  have been briefed and our professional legal services retained by MESSRS. AKPOS A. GODSPOWER and MOSES OKPAKO OGBOSAIN of Okpokunou Community and MR. DIARE SAMUEL PEREZIDE of Obotebe Community, all in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State of Nigeria (hereinafter referred to as “Our Clients”) pursuant to whose very clear, firm and specific instructions to act in connection with the hereinabove contained subject matter, we hereby petition your security conscious office.

Continued "Our  clients have informed us that they have an earlier petition dated 31st May, 2023 pending before your office bordering on the murder of one Mr. Daniel Chukwuemeka Ogbosain in which the principal suspects are HRM PERE AYEMI CHARLES BOTU (now late) and TOKEKEME EGBOUKE (the Okpokunou Community Chairman) amongst others, being community leaders who took laws into their hands and lynched the deceased to death and impunitively interred his body. That given the gravity of the offence involved in the aforesaid complaint of 31st May, 2023, your office through your officers at the Homicide Section swung into action but could not effect any arrest or apprehend any of the suspects despite several attempts due to the force of resistance put up by the suspects and their cohorts who are permanently resident in Okpokunou Community. In one of those attempts, the officers who went for the arrest were almost lynched but narrowly escaped the planned attack on them, whence it became practically impossible for the officers to go into the community to carry out their lawful duties of apprehending the alleged murderers, hence they became confronted with a stalemate. That because of our clients’ persistence to get justice over the death of their son who was gruesomely murdered by the named suspects in the said earlier petition, the officers were recently propelled to resume their efforts to arrest and apprehend the suspects in the said petition and it took the support, assistance and intervention of the Military Joint Task Force based in the nearby Bomadi Town in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State to successfully apprehend one of the suspects on Saturday, 23rd December, 2023. The said Joint Task Force moved into the Okpokunou Community on in aforesaid date and apprehended Mr. Tokekeme Egbou the principal mastermind of the murder of Mr. Daniel Chukwuemeka Ogbosain and handed him over to the police same day. It is our clients’ further information that upon the said arrest which the supporters and followers of Mr. Tokekeme Egbouke attempted to resist, the said followers went on rampage and started attacking members of our clients’ family within the community and others perceived to have masterminded the arrest and went about destroying properties and valuables worth over N200,000.00 (Two Hundred Million Naira) by estimation, brutalizing and maiming several persons with intent to kill them leaving them in very critical and near death conditions. The assailants have in furtherance of their brazen resistance and protest over the arrest of the community chairman continued to hold members of our clients’ family in incarceration subjecting them to several dehumanizing treatments, putting them in some local detention cells and further subjecting them to horrible conditions in which some persons are tied up and fastened to electric poles within the community and left in such conditions for very long periods until some prescribed fees are paid for their release. It is our clients’ clear-cut information that the assailants have stated in no uncertain terms that unless MR. Tokekeme Egbouke (the murder suspect) is released back to them, they will continue to wreak havoc on members of our clients’ family and every other person perceived to be connected with the said arrest, who at the moment are severally displaced, chased out of the community and given several degrees of injuries. It is our clients’ further information that the situation at hand has left many displaced, rendered homeless and running for their lives to avoid being killed by the assailants who are minded to waste the lives of anyone perceived to be connected to the arrest of the said murder suspect, wherefore our clients’ family members and all other persons within the circle of their perceived enemies are now living in palpable fear and apprehension. That the Head of the Village Police Post in the community who ought to take immediate action to nip in the bud the situation that has escalated to this level is also handicapped and helpless, as he is also a victim of the lawlessness paraded by the suspects and all along, the police at the community has never had the chance to exercise any form of authority, as they do not have the strength to either match or overpower the suspects in order to subject them to the law. In fact, on the very occasion when your officers went into Okpokunou Community to arrest some of the murder suspects and were almost lynched by their followers and cohorts; after their escape, the head of the village police post was made to face very unsavory treatment owing to the attempt made by your officers to come into the community to apprehend suspects.   DISCERNIBLE FACTS:That the aforementioned facts and circumstances evinces a clear situation of crisis in Okpokunou Community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State of Nigeria and given the antecedents of the assailants and all their co-travelers in relation to the issue of the murder of DANIEL CHUKWUEMEKA OGBOSAIN, no security agency is willing to go into the community to restore order and restrain the assailants from further acts of maiming, attacking, wounding and brutalizing their victims including the wanton destruction of properties, dwelling houses and buildings. That the situation in Okpokunou Community would snowball into a full-blown crisis when our clients’ family members and other families within the community whose family members are continuously attacked, maimed and rendered homeless resorts to retaliatory actions to prevent the unending attacks unleashed on them, unless very urgent steps are taken to apprehend the perpetrators of these heinous crimes and brought to book to face justice. PASSIONATE APPEAL:It is our clients’ passionate appeal that you immediately and urgently wade into the situation to curb further attacks on their family members and other targeted victims including the wanton destruction of properties and to particularly restore order in the community which at the point in time is in a state of total breakdown of law and order as the assailants continue to brazenly carry out whatever acts they desire to, continuously inflicting various degrees of pain on people, destroying people’s livelihoods, maiming and wounding people and subjecting people to several inhuman and degrading treatments including the wanton destruction of properties, belongings, dwelling houses and buildings. It is pertinent to further bring to your attention the fact that the foremost demand of the assailants is for the release of the murder suspect Tokekeme Egbouke to them and these assailants are strongly backed by the sponsors aforementioned in their lawless activities, and are more particularly empowered by one Barr. Luna Ocholor (Nee Aliya), the Principal Secretary to the Governor of Delta State to be taking the actions they are taking as she has assured them that she will do everything within her powers to ensure that the said murder suspect is released. It is in view of the foregoing that our clients have instructed us in very clear and specific terms to PETITION your security conscious office to wade into the crisis situation roiling their Okpokunou Community in line with the powers, functions and mandate of the police force to wade in to rescue their family members and other victims from the continuous molestation and attacks meted out on them and we hereby so petition. It is our sincere belief that your offices would waste no further time but give this petition the attention and urgency it deserves by immediately swinging into action to effect the arrest of all the suspects above mentioned and to prosecute them to a logical conclusion, as our clients are ready, minded and willing to honour your invitations and office scheduled interview sessions to defend this petition to the letter. Please be assured of our best regards as we anticipate your usual cooperation" the petition added.

IYC Calls on Delta Govt to Fastrack Development in ljaw Territory

IYC Calls on Delta Govt to Fastrack Development in ljaw Territory

Francis Tayor

Warri _____ ln what it described as political strangulation and suffocation against the ljaw people in the state, the ljaw Youth Council, lYC worldwide through its spokesman, Amb. Princewill Binebai has called on the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to as a matter of urgency fastrack physical infrastructural development across the ljaw riverine Communities in the State.
Amb. Binebai made the call on Tuesday 9th January, 2024 in Warri, during a Press Briefing urged Gov. Oborevwori to espedite acton to complete Ayakoromo bridge project, Ogulagha/Odimodi road, establishment of Coastal Areas Development Agency (CADA Bill) with Executive Order, upgrade of lsena-lbe Teacher Training College Bomadi to a Polytechnic, appointments of two commissioners each in Bomadi, Burutu, Patani and Warri South-West LGAs as he did in Warri North for the ltsekiris, provision of ferry boats to ease transportation for riverine dwellers among others for the interest of peace, fairness and justice in the state.
The ljaw Youth Council further stated that it will remain apolitical in its activities but will consistently advocate for truth and mobilize for the defense of their people when necessary.

IYC however optimistic that Governor Oborevwori will address the issues highlighted in this Press Statement amicably before they escalate to massive street protests against perceived ethnic biases in the state.
Read below full details of the statement:

A Press Conference Held  On This 9th Day Of January 2024 In Warri By Ijaw Youths Concerning The Political Strangulation And Suffocation Of The Ijaws In Delta State By His Excellency, The Governor Of Delta State, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

1. In the spirit of the New Year, the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide extend greetings to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State.

2. While the Ijaw Youth Council congratulates the Governor of Delta State on his victory at the Delta State Governorship election in 2023, as a council representing the interests of Ijaw people in Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Lagos, Abuja, and in the diaspora, we draw the Governor's attention to the fact that the Ijaws in Delta State haven't felt the impact of his Government during this few months into his tenure.

3. It is  important to note that the Ijaw people in Delta State will rise against actions from the Delta State Government headed by Governor Oborevwori if the Government continue to undermine the collective growth of the Ijaw people. As the economic and political base of Delta State, the Ijaws deserve fair treatment in terms of development and reasonable political appointments.

4. The Ijaws in Delta State cannot solely be valued during elections and then neglected along with their communities afterward. This inimical and tyrannical political thinking must stop as the Ijaw people can no longer put up with this kind of predatory political manipulation. We are beginning to see that the Oborevwori's Government is technically strangulating and suffocating the Ijaws politically in Delta State.

5. Delta is a multi-ethnic state, and any actions by the Governor, as the father of the state, must consider these ethnic indices. Failure to do so won't be acceptable to the affected ethnic groups, as they are equally stakeholders in the state, especially the Ijaw people.

6. Despite lauding Governor Oborevwori for approving #78 Billion for road construction and three flyovers in Warri and its surroundings, the Ijaw Youth Council expresses disappointment that the Ijaw riverine communities and Kingdoms haven't received substantial projects despite being the producers of the oil sustaining Delta State's economy. The delay in projects like the Ayakoromo bridge is disheartening; practical actions and completion is urgently demanded. Enough is enough.

7. The Ijaws observe with concern the appointment of two commissioners in Warri North, both from the Itsekiri ethnic nationality, despite Warri North being dominated by the Ijaws of Egbema Kingdom and Itsekiris. This lopsided appointment, despite the Governor winning in all Ijaw Local Government Areas, is seen as an insult to the Ijaw people's sensibilities.

8. Equality in commissioner appointments is demanded; therefore, Burutu, Patani, Bomadi, and Warri South West Local Government Councils should each have two commissioners, mirroring the allocation in Warri North. No ethnic group should be treated as inferior in Delta State. Burutu especially, already has one Federal Constituency and two State House of Assembly seats, this should be looked into as soon as possible.

9. Again, we bring to the attention of the Governor that if we have Warri Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency and Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, The Ijaw people call for the establishment of the Coastal Area Development Agency (CADA) as an executive Bill to benefit from resources generated from their areas. They refuse to continue being marginalized.

10. Before our very eyes, three universities were established in Delta State for which no one was sited in Ijaw areas, while Polytechnics were upgraded to universities under former Governor  Okowa, Efforts to establish universities in Delta State without any in Ijaw areas have been noted. Temporary placement of faculties from these new universities in oil rich Ogulagha Kingdom is urged as a form of temporal pacification until the future establishment of a university in Ogulagha Kingdom. The Delta State School of Marine Technology in Burutu requires urgent attention and declaration of a state of emergency for infrastructural development because of the deficit of neglect over the years till date.

11. The Ogulagha/Odimodi road project should commence now with immediate mobilization of the contractor to site as this project is so significant and is a major road linking Ogulagha and Odimodi Communities. The bad condition of the road has made it a death trap for our people that ply the road daily.

12. It is our humble suggestion that while Polytechnics in Delta State have been upgraded to Universities in Delta state, the ancient Bomadi  Isena-ibe Teacher training college that has produced  a lot of academic juganauts in our society today has further been reduced to a glorified secondary school. We are calling on the Governor to upgrade it to at least a Polytechnic for our people.

13. We are also informing the Governor of Delta State that we are aware that the Governor is making plans to buy vehicles to ease transportation in the urban areas of Delta State. While the IYC is lauding the idea, we are also informing our Governor that he should make arrangements to aquire ferry boats to ease transportation for our people living in the riverine communities who majorly bear the brunt of this fuel hike. We will not accept anything other than this.

14. The IYC have also keenly followed and monitored political appointments so far across the state, we want to State that while appointments has gone to some appreciable number of youths from other ethnic groups in the state, Ijaw youths who worked like others have not been recognized with such deserving appointments. This Government must not appear to be working against the progress of the Ijaw ethnic nationality in the state. Massive appointments of Ijaw Youths into the Delta State Government must not be an excuse going forward.

15.The Ijaw Youth Council has monitored the activities of our Governor from May 29th 2023 till this very moment, we want to reiterate that we are yet to see any concrete achievement of the Governor since he took over the helms of affairs as Governor of Delta State apart from his mere pronouncements. We want to see physical manifestation of projects in all parts of the state.

16. The IYC remains apolitical but will consistently advocate for truth and mobilize for the defense of their people when necessary. We hope that the Governor will address these issues before they escalate to massive street protests against perceived ethnic biases in the state.

Signed,
Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill
Spokesman, Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide

Ayakoromo Eldestman Suspend CLO, Woman Leader Elections in the Community

Ayakoromo Eldestman Suspend CLO, Woman Leader Elections in the Community

Francis Tayor

Warri ______ The Amakosuowei (Eldestman) of Ayakoromo Community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Elder Pa. Duomu Esaba has ordered immediate suspension of the proposed elections for the Community Liaison Officer, CLO and the Woman Leader for peace and orderliness to reign in the community.
Pa. Duomu made the declaration at the just concluded Ayakoromo Town Convention held through the 28th, 29th and 30th December, 2023 at the Community Town Hall, Ayakoromo.

Elder Pa. Duomo reaffirmed his statement on Saturday 6th January, 2024 while addressing the Press on Telephone call, stated that he had a dream ( revelation) at night and that there is a looming crisis in the community as regards to the proposed CLO and Woman Leader elections if not taken proper precaution.
Pa Duomo further stressed that he wanted to address the community on the revelation he had at the community Radio House but unfortunately he was deprived and asked to stop the announcement by the Community ATECO Chairman, Mr. Dibis Akeme.

He therefore decided to use this medium to address Ayakoromo people, saying the position of the CLO held by Desmond Gbafade Edumogiren and the Woman Leader, Mrs. Esther Sagbegha remain valid untill he summons General Meeting for the community to address the matter.

Pa. Duomu noted that he has the supreme power confered on him by the Ayakoromo Community Constitution to make any pronouncement for the interest and progress of the community, adding that he will summon emergency general meeting in no distance time to address the matter amicably, the statement added.
Meanwhile, our reporter Francis Tayor put a phone call across to the ATECO Chairman of Ayakoromo, Mr. Akeme Dibis on 08037737253 in order to hear his own part of the story on the 6th January, 2024 but he never answered the phone calls.

However, the Ayakoromo Town Electoral Committee, ATECO Chairman, Mr Dibis Akeme said at the Ayakoromo Convention that he has fixed January 10th, 2024 to conduct Ayakoromo CLO and Woman Leader elections, adding that he was mandated by the Ayakoromo Constitution to conduct the election.

Re-run: Ayakoromo Standstill for Asupa as he Pays Thank You Visit

Re-run: Ayakoromo Standstill for Asupa as he Pays Thank You Visit

By Francis Tayor, Timi Black & Miracle Esegha

Warri _______ The show of love was unquantifiable as the people of Ward 7 Ayakoromo community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State massively welcomed the former member of Delta State House of Assembly Burutu North Constituency and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for Delta State House of Assembly in the 2023 general elections, Hon. Peter Asupa Forteta as he paid thank you visit on Friday 5th January, 2024.
The massive turnout by the people indicates that Ayakoromo community stands for PDP and they have resolved to return Asupa back to Delta State House of Assembly to effectively represent them come February 3rd, 2024 Rerun elections at Ayakoromo Ward 7 unit 8, Seimbiri Ward 4 unit 26 Enekorogha, Edegbene unit and Oboro unit respectively.

Group blast Urhobo self -styled mayor on falsely accusing Ndiomu

Group blast Urhobo self -styled mayor on falsely accusing Ndiomu

A pressure group and tink tank, the Niger Delta Peace Advocates(NDPA) has flayed ex militant leader and self-styled Urhobo Mayor, Eshanakpe Israel aka Akpodoro for making inciting comments capable of affecting the peace in the region.

The NDPA in a statement issued in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital said very reasonable and right thinking people should be concerned over the unguarded verbal missiles from some ex-militants and their so-called leaders who lack any sense of social responsibility.

The statement issued in Port Harcourt and jointly signed by NDPA Chairman, Ebitimi Kurowei and Secretary Amangiye Thomas faulted Akpodoro for playing the ethnic card in a period where Nigerians needed to be more united to overcome the current challenges threatening the country's nationhood.

The group declared, "It is most unfortunate that the self-styled Mayor of Urhobo and others like him are fanning the embers of disunity and ethnicity to further divide the people of the Niger Delta who need to close ranks to make their voices heard in this era of the Renewed Hope Agenda"

They said accusing the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme of favouring one ethnic group over others is not only an absurdity but a mindset that must be condemned in strong terms.

"The Interim Administrator has been a  distinguished officer of the Nigerian armed forces who retired as a Major General in the Nigerian army and apparently lived all his adult life in ensuring that Nigeria remains indivisible and a united country" the NDPA stated.
The group also emphasized it has keenly observed that since assumption the Interim Administrator has been pragmatic in managing the amnesty programme by blocking areas of leakages and redirecting scarce resources to schemes to impact directly on those genuine beneficiaries who have been neglected in the past.

The group said "Akpodoro and others are either ill-informed or were being mischievous as everyone knows all those captured under the Programme are structured into phases and these groups of self-styled ethnic leaders are greedy noise-makers seeking relevance"

"Threatening to attack critical national assets is criminal, a threat to national security and should be treated as a treasonable felony. The security agencies should not hesitate in arresting and prosecuting them to serve as a  deterrent to others" the statement further stressed.

"The culture of entitlement among some ex-militants must not only stop but must be discouraged because this has seriously promoted laziness and crime among youths across the region" the group added.

Mulade Writes 7-Point Agenda to Gov. Oborevwori of Delta State

Mulade Writes 7-Point Agenda to Gov. Oborevwori of Delta State

2024: DELTA ACTIVIST,  COMRADE (CHIEF) SHERIFF MULADE SENDS 7-POINT AGENDA TO GOVERNOR SHERIFF OBOREVWORI

A renowned Delta State- born human rights, and development advocate, Comrade (Chief) Sheriff Mulade,  has wished all Deltans,  and Nigerians the best of life on earth  in the New Year, 2024.

Comrade Mulade, who is also the National Coordinator of the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, said: "A lot happened in 2023, a year that witnessed vigorous political campaigns and general elections; the birth of new governments at the Federal and State levels; withdrawal of petrol subsidy leading to hyper inflation because of hike in transport fares, amongst others."

" And sadly, the recent and unfortunate massacre of hundreds of innocent Nigerians in parts of the country by terrorists, which further exacerbated the Nation's security challenges."

Chief Mulade, the Ibe-Serimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, said: "Those who made it to the new year have cause to celebrate as life is for the living."

His words: " However, it is not yet Uhuru, as the economy is yet to recover from the subsidy shocks that have caused severe hardships for many families, worsening the prevailing rate of unemployment in the country, and forcing Nigerians to flee overseas, in addition to the abysmally poor performance of the Naira at the foreign exchange market."

Commending the former Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Francis Sheriff Oborevwori on his election victory,  emergence as the new Governor of Delta State, and leadership style, the Ijaw- born human rights advocate said the governor " has been working assiduously to unite Deltans, as well as ushering in a new phase of development to Delta State."

He presented the following 7-point agenda to the Governor:
1) Governor Sheriff Oborevwori should run an all-inclusive government, carrying all Deltans along, irrespective of political, religious or ethnic affiliations, as Delta State is for us all. To further unite the State, all hands must be on deck, while equal opportunities should be given to all Deltans to contribute their quota towards moving the State forward and be wary of political sycophancy.

2) The Delta State 2024 Budget should provide for the neglected riverine areas of the State, particularly the Ijaw and Itsekiri areas, where about 80% of the State's resources to fund the 2024 budget will come from. This is due to the fact that for decades now, the people of the coastal areas of Delta State have been grossly neglected in terms of tangible infrastructural projects that are economically viable for sustainable development of the riverine areas.

If these neglected areas were not adequately captured in the already passed 2024 Budget, a supplementary budget that will accommodate and give sense of belonging to the riverine areas is recommended.

3) Delta State must be on the map of progressive States. It is very heartwarming that for the first time, Delta State Government has kicked against shoddy projects, and that it will no longer be business as usual for quack contractors, as demonstrated by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who engaged the bridge and road construction giant, Julius Berger Plc, a proof that the current administration is serious about leaving a lasting legacy as far as infrastructural development is concerned.

This is commendable, but the Governor should sustain the tempo and diversify the transport sector; attract foreign investors to the State; and set up a strong security architecture.

4) Governor Oborevwori should embrace environmental sustainability and best practices for the preservation of our ecological heritage. The Delta State Government should liaise with the Federal Government and its agencies to put an end to gas flaring, create opportunities that will discourage pollution, and encourage good sanitation habits.

5) The Delta State Government should focus more on education which is the bedrock of development in every progressive society. Quality education should be provided in all parts of the State, particularly in the riverine areas,  where there are paucity of teachers, and learning facilities are dilapidated.

Quality education should be seen by government as an investment in citizens with the aim of reaping citizens' positive contributions to development in the future, after being trained and certified.

Efforts should be made to reduce the number of out-of-school children to the barest minimum, while learning institutions must be strengthened to enable them make positive impacts.

6. The Governor should focus on agricultural development in the State. In fact, the government should engage and empower the jobless youths and women so that they can contribute to food production.

Government should establish agricultural schemes with palliatives to lure and encourage Deltans to go into crop farming and fishing. Delta State should not only be exporting crude oil but also be food sufficient with the surplus exported to neighbouring States and other countries.

Agriculture is very important as fossil fuel can no longer be relied upon as revenue base for future development. The future belongs to agriculture which has comparative advantages over crude oil.

7. Security should be prioritized by the Oborevwori administration to guarantee peace, attract investors into the State, and create job and employment opportunities for Deltans and other Nigerians in the State.

Security is everybody's business, but the State Government must put in place the needed security facilities, and collaborate with the Federal Government's security agencies to curb criminal activities in the State to further boost confidence, and attract local, national and foreign investors.
Comrade Mulade, however, urged all residents of Delta State to "give maximum cooperation and support to the current Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to enable him implement and achieve his MORE Agenda for the benefit of all Deltans."

While wishing Deltans a very prosperous and peaceful 2024, Chief Mulade said, "I believe that this 7-point agenda will help to boost the economy of Delta State, and will, no doubt, place the State on the world map as an investment destination."

Their petition, written by a legal practitioner, Israel.O. Nwokeiwu Esq and his legal team comprising B.F. Mabiko Esq and C.F. Famateigha Esq respectively.

The families expressed sadness and shock over the "sudden" and "untimely" death of their son who was gruesomely murdered in cold blood on the alleged order of the paramount ruler of Seimbiri Kingdom and the Executive Chairman of Okpokunou Urban Community.

The families said the suspects poured Premium Motor Spirit also known as petrol on their sin, tied his hands and legs together and started beat him
with all kinds of offensive weapons such as sticks, machete etc.
They said he died as a result of high degree of injury inflicted on him by the suspects.

The families said the incident threw the whole community into grief.

They said the incident occurred 2nd May 2023.

Narrating how the incident occurred, the families said their son was accosted by Mr. Tokekeme Egbouke(Community Chairman), Mr. Wilson Chamber(Vice Chairman), Mr. Prestar Kodokor(Secretar), Mr. John Okorodas (Youth President), Mr. Secretary Amgbara(Chairman's Adviser), Mr. Apostle, Mr. Christian Ambai, Mr. Arekedoumene, Mr. Yenrin Complain, Mr. Prince Abrafa and Mr. Tenezibau Anthony on the allegations that he stole some community’s laboratory equipments.

According to the families,"But upon the deceased’s denial of the said allegation leveled against him, the said suspects constituted themselves into a court and
passed death sentence on the deceased for stealing the said property."

The families added that,"And after delivering their verdict, the 2nd suspect, Mr. Tokekeme ordered the other suspects as mentioned in this paragraph to
descend on the deceased by way of executing their judgment on the issue
of stealing as alleged.

"That after pouring Premium Motor Spirit also known as petrol on the
deceased, they tied his hands and legs together and started beating him
with all kinds of offensive weapons such as sticks, machete etc,of which
as a result of high degree of injury inflicted on him by them,he died
afterwards."

They noted that the deceased was quickly buried by the suspects the next day, May 3,2023 without consulting any of them(family members) to cover up their tracks as well as avoid being traced.

It said one of the suspects Mr. Tokekeme said to them that they killed and buried the deceased because he stole community's properties boasting that as the chairman, he has the right to do so and nobody can do him anything including the Police or the Government.

They added that the said Egbouke allegedly threatened to send his "boys"
to burn down the houses of any member of the deceased’s family who
dares him on the issue surrounding the circumstances of the death as the community chairman he has the full
backing and support of the 1st suspect to do what they did and that the 1st
suspect has assured them that he will use all his connection and contacts
in the government to ensure that the matter will not see the light of the
day.

The families said the suspect has been moving freely in the Community since their son was murdered.

The families said the actions of the suspect is already causing serious tension in the Community just as they warned that,"if nothing is done
urgently to arrest the situation,it may lead to break down of law and order."

"There is no doubt that the actions/inactions of the aforesaid suspects
amounted to jungle justice which is not accommodated in this twenty first
century.

"Life is so precious to both God and man and as such,no man is
permitted by any law(no matter how highly placed heis)to take the life of
another.  This is a crime against humanity and must not be treated with kid gloves."

The families said they're law abiding citizens of Nigeria and would not want to take laws into their hands.

They said they resolved to seek the urgent attention of the Commissioner of Police,CP Wale Abass in the matter.

They implored CP Abass to use his good office to take decisive action in the matter and direct/order the arrest of the suspects so that they face the wrath of the law as the Public and
Okpokunou Urban Community citizenry particularly the Youths are also watching
eagerly because of the intrigues that has come into the matter.

However, the police public relations officer DSP. Bright Edafe during a chat with this reporter confirmed that the police is conducting a thorough investigation into the murder case and urged the aggrieved parties to remain law abiding, saying that the perpetrators must be brought to book and be made to act as deterrent to others in the community.

New Year: Omatseye Host Family, Friends, Well Wishers in Warri

New Year: Omatseye Host Family, Friends, Well Wishers in Warri

By Francis Abai/Francis Tayor

Warri _____ It was a fanfare on Wednesday 27th December, 2023 as the former Delta South Senatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People's Party, NNPC in the 2023 general elections, Commodore Omatseye Nesima (Rtd) hosted family members, friends, political associates and well wishers at his private residence in GRA, Warri, Delta State.

The event was graced by the clergy, journalists, retired military personnel, comedians, children with Santaclus from Iceland to spice up the occasion.

The invited guests seated in a round-table setting at the private residence in Warri, Delta State, of a retired Naval officer, Commodore Omatseye Nesiama popularly known as 'The Commodore of Hope', were family members, friends and associates.
They had all been invited by The Commodore of Hope and his family in the spirit of the yuletide celebration and as part of the tradition of the Nesiama's in thanking the Almighty God for making it through the year, as revealed by The Commodore of Hope in his opening speech as the ceremony flagged-off few minutes to 6pm.
"Today is just for us to appreciate God and thank Him for the year. A lot of people know us. Normally, when we are in town we host. Last year we couldn't host because it was the heat of political activities. The last time we hosted here it was mainly family and friends. But this time, we said family, friends and political... not really associates—those guys that were in the trend with me throughout the electioneering period.

"My real family are the people you're seeing here now. And I want to thank you for being part of my family. I want to thank God for the privilege to be able to call this gathering on a very short notice and we are all here," he acknowledged.

Asides the need to thank God and to celebrate, Commodore Nesiama (rtd) who said that "The programme line up today is to eat and drink" also urged his guests to use the opportunity that the sit-out offers to network among themselves. "This is a gathering where you network. Don't just sit down, go round, greet and know people because the person you see here today might be important to your progress tomorrow," he further added.
The evening was marked with musical entertainment by the live band, Anointed Stone Superstar, and with comic relief from MC QP A.K.A Youngest Landlord in Warri, and MC Charles The Generous. There were varieties of foods such as rice, suya (roasted meat), wines, assorted drinks, roasted fish among others. Santa Claus (Father Christmas) was also on ground to swell the fun for kids in attendance too.

Commodore Nesiama (rtd), who gained political prominence at the last general elections wherein he campaigned vigorously in the Delta South Senatorial district on the platform of the New Nigeria People's Party, NNPP, stunned his guests when he opened the Karaoke session, which was part of the activities to liven the mood of guests.

The Commodore of Hope brought back the nostalgic feeling of the late 70's when he performed the song 'Coward of the County' by the late country music singer, Kenny Rogers (August 21, 1938 – March 20, 2020).
Other guests also joined the fray in the Karaoke session. Songs like 'Suddenly' by Billy Ocean, 'You're My Best Friend' by Don Williams among others, were performed by participating guests. While some sang to the admiration of guests, others were a bit muffled up as they try to follow the lead words displayed on the projected screen. Yet, there were still those who departed from the Karaoke by performing local songs of praise.

But most importantly, everyone met someone new, like Pastor Sunny Aghe who was excited to meet for the first time the radio show presenter, Laju Awala of Rize FM in Warri. Also among the Nesiama's were Rear Admiral Franklin Nesiama, Dcns Victoria Nesiama, Mrs. Queen Temile, and a host of others.

IPF urges Ijaw politicians to prioritise development of riverine communities

IPF urges Ijaw politicians to prioritise development of riverine communities

The Ijaw Publishers Forum has advised political office holders of Ijaw extraction to prioritise the development of Ijaw communities across the Niger Delta region.

The president of the media professionals, Comrade Ozobo Austin asserted this in Warri while receiving a protest from some youths over the collapsed Gbaregolor/Ogbeinama bridge, abandoned Bomadi/Ogulagha road, Ayakoromo Bridge and Ojobo/Torugbene road, Odimodi/Ogulagha road projects on Thursday.

He said despite the government at all levels failing to prioritise riverine communities' development, Ijaw political leaders had a role to play to attract government presence to the marginalised oil-producing and impacted Ijaw riverine communities in Niger Delta.
The media professionals had emphasised that they would strongly advocate for the Ijaw community's development following the unfortunate disrespect for the Ijaw Nation's development by successive governments at all levels over the years.

While promising the protesting Youths to convey their plights and demands to the Delta State governor, His Excellency RT. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis O. Oborevwori, he called on Delta Ijaw leaders to influence the completion of the aforementioned projects by lobbying the state governor and other relevant authorities in the federation.
Ozobo who further stated that Ijaw development is Ijaw's responsibility, urged Ijaw political leaders to put more commitment to attracting meaningful development in their respective communities.
