Just-ln: Arewa, Yoruba, Ohaneze, N'Delta, other Youth Groups Distance Selves from October 1 Planned Protest

Just-ln: Arewa, Yoruba, Ohaneze, N'Delta, other Youth Groups Distance Selves from October 1 Planned Protest

Abuja____ Frontline youth leaders under the auspices of over 60 youth organisations have declared their members will not participate in the  rumoured national protest being planned by some persons and groups for October 1 against the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

The president of Nigeria Youth Organization, Duke Alamboye, made the position of the youth leaders known when he led a delegation of representatives of the groups on a courtesy visit to the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr Dennis Otuaro, in Abuja on Thursday.

This was contained in a press release issued by the Special Assistant on Media to the PAP Administrator, Mr Igoniko Oduma, on Thursday.

The youth bodies include the National Youth Congress, Arewa Youth Council, Yoruba Youth Council, Ohaneze Youth Council, South-South Advocate, Niger Delta Coalition, the Nigeria Nexus, Youth Parliament of Nigeria, Green Africa Youth Initiative, Youth Foundation for Non-Violence in Nigeria, Niger Delta Youth Parliament, National Association of Nigerian Students, and Youth Empowerment for Peace and Security, among others.
Alamboye said that they would work together with a network of other youth groups to ensure that Nigerian youths were not misled into taking part in any ill-advised protest against the government of Tinubu.

He said they would carry out a series of activities in the days ahead, including a world press conference and a youth summit, to sensitize Nigerians on the need to shun any demonstration in the country.

Alamboye urged youths to embrace constructive dialogue and explore available channels of engagement with the government to express their views instead of disrupting the peace and stability of the nation.

He said, "Concerning the state of the nation, we are not unaware of the agitation from certain quarters calling for a nationwide protest on October 1, 2024. It is a protest against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's government.

"As youth leaders and lovers of peace and national advancement, the Nigeria Youth Organization would like to inform you of our plan and intention to hold a world press conference on the 23rd of September, 2024, geared towards sensitizing the average Nigerian youth on the need to shun the planned protest.

"We want people to seek dialogue as a better reconciliation tool for venting their grievances. We also hope to organise a summit on October 1st, 2024, as a follow-up to the world press conference. We anticipate that all well-meaning stakeholders will play vital roles in charting a better cause for our youths."

The youth leader congratulated Otuaro on his appointment and commended the President for putting a square peg in a square hole through the appointment of Otuaro.

He stressed that they were solidly behind Tinubu and the PAP boss.

Also speaking, Henry Okonkwo of the Ohaneze Youth Council, Tobi Bakare (Yoruba Youth Council), Ifon Daniel (Niger Delta Youth Parliament), and Nasir Lawal (Arewa Youth Council), among others, corroborated Alamboye and expressed support for the president.

Responding, the PAP Administrator praised the youth leaders for dissociating themselves from any planned protest, noting that Tinubu was a youth-friendly leader who had appointed several youths to serve in different capacities in his government.

Otuaro urged them not to allow themselves to be manipulated into unpatriotic activities in the name of protest, as the president needs more time for the benefits of his people-oriented reforms, policies, and programmes to manifest.
While thanking the youth groups for their decision and support for Tinubu, he said, "Mr. President means well for the country. It is reassuring to know that Nigerian youths are with Mr President, who has been in office for a little over a year.

"As youths, we should organise ourselves and present our grievances and concerns through constructive dialogues. Nobody should manipulate you to achieve their ulterior goals. Most of those championing the so-called protest are only seeking attention and they thrive under the guise of anti-government protests to get attention. Youths should be watchful."

The Cost of Free Publicity: The Unseen Expenses of Online Media_By Otiti

The Cost of Free Publicity: The Unseen Expenses of Online Media_By Otiti

The notion that media publicity is free is a misconception that needs to be addressed. Behind the scenes, online media platforms incur significant expenses to maintain their operations. Website renewals, often paid in dollars, are a substantial burden due to the high exchange rate between the dollar and naira.

Furthermore, media practitioners must purchase monthly data subscriptions to stay connected and gather information. These costs add up, making it challenging for online media outlets to provide free services.

The exchange rate fluctuation alone is a significant strain. With the current exchange rate, renewing a website can cost tens of thousands of naira. This expense is compounded by the need for consistent data subscriptions, software updates, and equipment maintenance.

Given these expenses, it's unrealistic to expect media practitioners to provide free publicity. Quality content creation and dissemination require significant investment. Online media platforms must balance their passion for storytelling with the financial realities of running a business.

To sustain online media, it's essential to recognize the value of their services. Businesses, individuals, and organizations seeking publicity should be prepared to compensate media practitioners fairly. This collaboration will ensure the continued provision of quality content and the growth of the online media industry.

Just-ln: Dagidi Takes Proactive Steps to Mitigate Flooding in Bomadi LGA

Bomadi___ The Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, has embarked on a proactive mission to tackle the recurring issue of flooding in the area. Accompanied by his Vice Chairman, Chief Powei Guembe Bekes, Secretary to the Local Government Council, Mr. Famous Ofurobiri and Mrs. Dirime-ere Talbort, Head of the Environment Department, Hon. Andaye conducted a comprehensive assessment of flood-prone areas within the local government.
During the inspection, it was discovered that illegal obstructions and the indiscriminate dumping of refuse were major contributors to the perennial flooding that has plagued parts of Bomadi. The areas assessed included the Bomadi Library Road, Donbraye, and Winners Chapel, where the Council is working to clear and open up critical drainage networks to prevent further flooding.

In addressing the situation, Hon. Andaye stressed the importance of removing any structures that obstruct water channels, noting that buildings blocking the flow of water will not be spared in the forthcoming drainage clearance exercise. He underscored the need to enforce strict environmental measures to restore the free flow of water and eliminate silt buildup in the drainage systems.
Key Measures to Combat Flooding:

Demolition of Obstructive Structures: Buildings or structures hindering water flow will be demolished.

Drainage Clearance: The removal of silt from blocked drainages to ensure effective water passage.

Strict Environmental Enforcement: The Environment Department will take decisive action against those flouting environmental regulations.

Residents are also urged to:

Avoid Dumping Refuse in drainage systems.

Mulade Advises Leaders of Benikrukru Community to Lease Land to Attract Development and Not for Sale

Mulade Advises Leaders of Benikrukru Community to Lease Land to Attract Development and Not for Sale

A Warri based peace and development advocate, Comrade Chief Sheriff Mulade has repeated his appeal to the leadership of the good people of Benikrukru Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom (where he hails from), to donate any portion of land required by indigenes of the area for investment, not to sell to same, so as to encourage connected indigenes to attract investment to the locality.

The renowned peace and environmental justice advocate also appealed to people of that community not to set a dangerous precedence by selling land to indigenes, as that might create chaos in the nearest future and negatively affect the growth and development of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in future.

Chief Mulade, who is the Ibe-Serimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, re-emphasized the need to encourage and support investment by donating land as equity stake that would guarantee security and sustainable benefit to generations yet unborn.

The Gbaramatu-born peace advocate emphasized that all sons and daughters of Benikrukru Community were entitled to land free of charge as bonafide indigenes, and not to buy land under any disguise whatsoever.

He strongly advised: "We should support and encourage any of our indigenes who has the capacity to attract investors to Gbaramatu Kingdom, especially Benikrukru Community, to create employment and job opportunities for our teeming youths that will in turn attract massive development to the area. Therefore, we should appreciate one of our indigenes for his contributions to the development and growth of the community, and also for showcasing the potentials of the community to the outside world".

Nothing further,  Sheriff Mulade emphasized that, "land should be donated freely as the community equity contribution towards supporting his efforts,  instead of selling land to him. This will serve as motivation to this illustrious son, and many others like him."

Mulade expressed strong belief that the prevailing harsh economic situation in Nigeria today was not enough for Benikrukru people to forget his  contributions to the economic growth of the community. "Let us avoid doing things that are inimical to natural justice, equity and fair play," Mulade advised.

The Ijaw-born High Chief said Benikrukru land belongs to all the indigenes with free holding entitlement, and strongly advised that the community should support and contribute to the investment move of our illustrious son, without selling of land under any disguise. Let remember and learn from history, he added.

Delta Land Dispute: Mulade Cautions Against Selling of Benikrukru Land, Calls on Gbaramatu Pere Intervention

WARRI____ Gbaramatu Kingdom, born renowned global peace ambassador and development advocate, Comrade Mulade Sheriff, has called on the good and peace loving people of Benikrukru Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government of Delta State to kindly desist and avoid laying a wrong precedent in the community and Gbaramatu Kingdom at large.

Chief Mulade, who is the Ibe-Serimowei of Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, gave the advice over the weekend and cautioned the leadership of the community led by Comrade Joel Tonjoh to be careful and not to trade with the future of our yet unborn generations.

He made this position known, against the backdrop of an ongoing attempt by the Comrade Joel Tonjoh-led leadership of the Benikrukru community in attempt to sell off certain portions of lands measuring over four hundreds acres, in a most clandestine, suspicious, unpatriotic and dubious manner, devoid of any  historical or cultural antecedents.

The Benikrukru born environmental rights activist, hereby call on the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II and Elders of Benikrukru community to call the Comrade Joel Tonjoh and his Executives  to order, halt and desist from attempting to sell any parcel or part of Benikrukru land under any disguise; and that, Benikrukru Community should rather encourage and support any of her son or daughter who has the capacity to attract investors and development to the area. "I strongly advise that we should support any of our indigenes who have the capacity to attract and woo investors to Gbaramatu Kingdom, especially Benikrukru Community," he said.

"I want to emphasize that, the community ought to, and should demonstrate gratitude to one of our own (Name withheld), who has contributed immensely to the growth and development of the community and bringing the community to limelight, and should be given land to invest freely, as an equity stake contributions, in support of his investment drive, and not the other way round by selling. This would be a very laudable encouragement to this illustrious son of ours and many others, "he opined.
"I strongly think that no amount of poverty, ignorance, and 'stomach infrastructures' should allow us to condescend so low in-spite of his huge contributions to the community development and we should avoid doing things that are inimical to natural justice and fair play.

It is imperative to state clearly that Benikrukru Community land in Gbaramatu Kingdom belongs to all sons and daughters with inalienable rights. Therefore, no individual should be subjected or denial of such rights, and such that is capable of generating crisis and litigation in the nearest future.

The Benikrukru community born, Ibe-Serimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, strongly appealed to the community to support and contribute to investment drive as community equity contributions to our people, rather than selling any part or parcel of land. "Let it equally be on record that any purported sells Deeds of Conveyance will be resisted with every available legal means," he asserted.

Dangote Refinery to Start Supply of Fuel on 15th September, 2024 Across Nigeria

In a monumental move, the Federal Government has brokered a deal with Dangote Refinery to the commencement of petrol supply, effectively ending the crippling fuel scarcity that has plagued Nigeria. This breakthrough comes after intense negotiations between both parties, culminating in a mutually beneficial agreement.

Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service and member of the Presidential Committee on the Sale of Crude Oil and Refined Products, declared that “the wait is over” as the Dangote Refinery prepares to unleash a torrent of petrol into the market, starting September 15.
In a masterstroke, NNPC Limited will supply a whopping 385,000 barrels of crude oil to the Dangote Refinery from October 1, 2024. In return, the refinery will flood the domestic market with petrol and diesel, payable in Naira, thereby liberalizing the fuel supply chain.

Adedeji emphasized that this groundbreaking agreement will extinguish the petrol scarcity fire, while enabling the government to sustain subsidy payments.

He added that diesel will be sold in Naira by the Dangote Refinery to any interested buyer, while PMS will be exclusively sold to NNPC, which will then distribute to marketers.

This agreement marks a significant turning point in Nigeria’s fuel supply saga, promising to bring relief to the masses and revitalize the economy. The nation eagerly awaits the commencement of this supply to end the fuel crisis.

“The soldier transit accommodation represents a remarkable milestone as it addresses the critical needs of troops which is accommodation.

“The project falls in line with the Chief of Army Staff command philosophy which is to transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained and equipped and well motivated force towards achieving our constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment.

“In this vein, the transit accommodation to be commissioned today highlights the impactful discourse of social corporate responsibility in the spirit of jauntiness.

“I therefore commend the effort and contribution of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited in achieving this laudable project which will immensely impact the Unit, the Brigade and the Nigerian army.

“I am aware of the enormous resources Tantita committed in achieving this. The project indeed shows that our bond with you (Tantita) transcends the operational energy on the field and has enjoinder the spirit of camaraderie and goodwill which will be sustained.
“Again, I thank you most sincerely for complementing the Nigerian Army’s efforts of improving the welfare of personnel.

“I also want to urge Tantita that having completed this project in 3 Battalion Effurun, they should look for other Barracks within our area of responsibility so that they can extend their goodwill to them.

“Finally, I commend the efforts leading to the completion of 3 Battalion Soliders Transit Accommodation. The project will no doubt go a long way in lifting the spirit of personnel and enhancing their outputs,” he said.

Speaking at the event, Managing Director of TSSL, Engineer Keston Pondi, said the 3 Battalion Soldiers Transit Accommodation was initiated and constructed to boost welfare of military personnel posted to the region as well as to deepened the bond between Tantita and the Nigerian Army.

Pondi who was represented by the Executive Director of Operations/Technical Services, Captain Warredi Enisuoh, noted that Tantita Security would continue to collaborate with the Nigerian military and other state agents in stamping out crude oil theft in the region.

He commended the Chief of Army Staff and the heads of other security agencies in the country for supporting efforts of Tantita Security Services in the fight against crude oil theft and other illegal activities around the nation’s national assets in the region.
“You all know that our contract is based on performance and the performance cannot be removed from the fact that we have the support of the government security forces. With that performance, comes our salaries also. We are supposed to be more grateful to the security forces.

“This project has been an interesting project, it is of the Chairman (Tompolo) and Managing Director’s belief that this project is worth supporting.

“I promised you that we are not stopping here. We’ll continue to stand by you just as have always stood by us. This is the beginning of a great partnership”, he added.

Miracle Soap: We’ve never used NAFDAC’s name to deceive Nigerians, Prophet Jeremiah reacts to NAFDAC claims

Miracle Soap: We’ve never used NAFDAC’s name to deceive Nigerians, Prophet Jeremiah reacts to NAFDAC claims

The Senior Prophet of Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministry, Abuja, Jeremiah Fufeyin, has denied allegations suggesting that his ministry has been using the name of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control to mislead the public regarding spiritual items.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the church’s media arm, and signed by Sophia Iloyd, the church described the allegations as false and misleading.

The statement was in a response to NAFDAC’s statement on Sunday, alerting the public to the activities of Fufeyin’schurch claiming he had been using the agency’s name to deceive the public.

The church, however, said it is a law-abiding institution that respects the laws of the land, including those of NAFDAC.

It emphasised that it operates under the protections of Sections 38 and 39 of the Nigerian Constitution, which guarantee freedom of religion and expression.
“As a church, we are guided by our faith and the teachings of the Bible. We have been using spiritual items as an expression of our religious beliefs.

“The church strongly denied claims made in the publication, which suggested that NAFDAC was warning the public about the ministry’s activities.

“At no point has our church deceived the public. We have not produced or sold consumable items to the public, let alone used NAFDAC’s name to do so,” the statement read

It further clarified that the only complaint pending against the church is a petition by one Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkblackman, who the church has taken to court over various allegations.

Fufeyin’s church acknowledged receiving a letter from NAFDAC dated August 27, 2024, which invited the church’s spiritual head for an inquiry into its use of miracle and healing items.

However, the church claimed that it was given less than 12 hours to respond and had already communicated its position to NAFDAC via official correspondence.

The church also alleged that the complainant, Otse, forged receipts to back his claims against the ministry.

These receipts, it said, were different from the ones typically issued by the church’s accounting office and had discrepancies in dates and details.
“We have written to NAFDAC and informed them that the receipts submitted by the complainant are under police investigation. Despite this, NAFDAC has not responded to our letters or provided any feedback on the matter,” the statement concluded.
