Dangote Refinery will Curb Fuel Importation by NNPCL_ PENGASSAN

Dangote Refinery will Curb Fuel Importation by NNPCL_ PENGASSAN

Abuja______ The coming onstream of Dangote Refinery in the coming days will cut importation of petroleum products by NNPC Limited and the evils of petrol subsidy.

The president, Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), Comrade Festus Osifo, stated this on Thursday, at the 7th Triennial National Delegates’ Conference in Abuja.

He said with the refinery, there will be an impact on the fuel supply dynamics.

“We welcome the bold move by operators of Dangote Refinery coming on stream soon and hope that its addition will enhance local production, reduce products importation as well as end the era of uncertainties in petroleum products pricing and evils of subsidy payment,” he said.

While he commended NNPC Ltd for the rehabilitation of the refineries, especially the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries, the PENGASSAN head revealed that South Korean Daewoo (the contractor) has not mobilised to Kaduna Refinery despite signing the contract early this year.
“Kaduna is yet to start and we are pushing to ensure they are completed on time,” he said, as he partly blamed the delay on the insecurity and kidnapping in Kaduna.

On tackling the lingering energy crisis, PENGASSAN tasked the incoming government on hastening the completion of the refineries’ rehabilitation.

“The incoming government must do all within its reach to see to the conclusion of the current rehabilitation effort and initiatives that are currently in place so that our nation’s refinery will come up in no distant time,” Osifo said.

He also said after nine months of battling crude oil theft along with protests by oil workers, production has moved up by 500,000 barrels per day (bpd).
Highlighting the steps PENGASSAN took, Osifo said: “Key among these was the nationwide protests against crude oil theft and presentations at the National Assembly.

These efforts had started yielding fruits as our crude oil production level which was less than a million bpd in August 2022 had risen to more than 1.5mbpd today.”

The candidates are challenging the victory of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu. The five-man panel will hear the petitions and dispense justice accordingly. Meet the five Court of Appeal justices that will determine the outcome of the petitions.

Similarly, in 2019, Tsammani wrote the lead judgment for an election petition submitted by Ajimobi who contested the decision of the 2019 Election Petition Tribunal, which on November 19 of that same year confirmed Kola Balogun of the Peoples Democratic Party as the winner of the senatorial election for Oyo State. Ajimobi’s petition was rejected by Tsammani, who in the lead judgment noted that the petition lacked merit.

He served as the chairman of the three-man panel that granted Obi and Atiku’s applications to serve Tinubu their petitions by substituted means. He also presided over the Value Added Tax case between the Rivers State Government and the Federal Government. He is ranked 12th on the seniority list of the Court of Appeal.

Adah led the panel that affirmed Enugu State’s Ifeanyi Ubah as a senator after he was sacked over alleged certificate forgery. He also led the panel that affirmed Valentine Ozigbo as the PDP governorship candidate for the Anambra governorship election in 2022. He is ranked 22nd on the seniority list of the Court of Appeal.

Justice Bolaji-Yusuf

Justice Misitura Bolaji-Yusuf – The only female justice in the tribunal was born on August 7, 1959. She hails from Oyo State where she started her education at Oranyan Grammar School between 1972 and 1973 before proceeding to the Breman Asikuma Secondary School, Central Region, Ghana between 1973 and 1976. Bolaji-Yusuf was appointed as a justice in the Oyo State high court on January 30, 1997 where she delivered major judgments. She was appointed to the Court of Appeal on March 24, 2014.

One of her lead judgments was delivered during the hearing of an N5.6bn pension scam in Oyo State. The case involved the EFCC and 12 other persons in the Oyo State civil service.

She was on the panel that affirmed that the candidates of the Godwin Obaseki-faction were the authentic candidates to participate in Edo State in the 2023 elections. She is ranked 31st on the seniority list of the Court of Appeal.

Justice Ugo

Justice Boloukuoromo Moses Ugo- The Bayelsa-State-born justice is from Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of the state. Born in 1965, Ugo began his education at the State school, Igbedi in Bayelsa State from 1972 to 1978. He proceeded to the Government Secondary School, Asoama, Sabagreia in Bayelsa State from 1977 to 1982. He attended the University of Calabar where he studied law from 1985 to 1989. He attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos in 1990.

Justice Ugo was appointed as a justice of the high court of Bayelsa State in March 2006. He became an appellate court justice in March 2014. He is ranked 44th on the seniority list of the Court of Appeal.

Justice Bello

Justice Mohammed Abba Bello- The 62-year-old jurist from Kano State attended the Nigerian Law School in 1985. In 2010, he was appointed to the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory. He presided over the Nasarawa State Governorship Election Tribunal in 2019. David Ombugadu, the PDP candidate for governor in the general election of 2019, had filed a suit against INEC and Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressive Congress.

However, Justice Mohammed rejected the petition on the grounds that it lacked merit, noting that the petitioner’s claims of excessive voting and electoral violence could not be supported. He is ranked 71st on the seniority list of the Court of Appeal.

Former YPP Assembly Candidate, Tam Resigns from Party in Delta

....... lndefinitely suspends all partisan political activities

Warri ______ Former two times House of Assembly Candidate to represent Bomadi Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly under the platforms of AAC in 2019 and YPP in 2023 general elections, Comrade Tam Oburumu has resigned from the party as well as indefinitely suspended all partisan political activities until further notice.

In a statement released over the weekend in Bomadi, the Ogbein-ama born grassroot politician, writer cum activist noted that the decision is taken based on personal ground, stressing that further attempt to come back to the movement shall be communicated to his undying fans and followers via the same medium.

He however, thanked and appreciated the various political parties that gave him the opportunity to test his popularity over the years, adding that better days ahead in the future.

While appreciating his wife, family, children, fans, followers and supporters, Oburumu stated that the present political situation in the country, especially Bomadi, Burutu and Delta State at large is money bag politics, hence his genuine intention to provide good leadership was not welcomed by the people due to brainwashed by the present corrupt politicians.

According to him, said:"

I am Oburumu Tamaraukepreye popularly known as Tam Oburumu. An author, writer , activist and two times House of assembly candidate to represent Bomadi constituency, under the platforms of AAC in 2019 and YPP in 2023 respectively.

I am suspending partisan political activities which include being member of any political party .
This translates to my personal resignation from any political affiliation including YPP indefinitely.

I thank AAC and YPP for giving me the rare opportunities of  venturing  into politics in 2019 and 2023 respectively. I truly wanted the best for our people .

Subsequently, I am officially suspending all partisan political activities indefinitely.

I am taking this decision due to my own private conviction that the political waters around my constituency and state is of no good future rather than backstabbing, blackmailing and  completely money prompted  by even people of my political party , constituency and state.
People are brainwashed , programmed robots to PDP in Bomadi, Burutu  LGAs and in fact Delta State in general. In such situation, it will be a complete waste of time and resources for persons like me who truly have the genuine mind to change the narrative.

I have also realized that all the political patties in Nigeria are the same with people desperate for power , positions and money . people who do not believe in ideology and cash . People who campaign and vote for the highest bidder . people sell their mandates to richer oppositions . I am too decent and principled to be in such dirty and shameless grounds.

I will henceforth concentrate on my writings, activism and humanitarian activities.

My family , I mean wife and children have paid untold sacrifices because of my zeal to give good leadership and representation to people who do not even care or appreciate. But I thank God for everything.

Any review of the above decision at any point in time  will always be communicated to my fans and followers.

I urge everyone to respect this decision as it's constitutionally my right to do this.

Thank you .

Kagbala Applauds Tantita Security, Urges FG for Legal Backing

Kagbala Applauds Tantita Security, Urges FG for Legal Backing

The Publisher and CEO of FocalPoint Reports, Comrade Ezekiel Kagbala has called on the Federal Government to consider legislative backing for Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited besides the funding in order to expand its frontiers not only within the Niger Delta region but across the nation.

Comrade Kagbala who stated this recently, while speaking with newsmen, note that, he was prompted to make this call after embarking on an assessment tour around the Niger Delta creeks in Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers state to ascertain the level of positive environmental input made by the surveillance company as regards implementation of its major goals, geared towards the reduction of illegal local crude oil refining.

To this, he however commended the Federal Government for awarding the pipeline surveillance contract to High Chief Ekpemupolo's company to track down on the massive oil theft in the region, adding that, so far, so well, the Tantita and it's team have done well by involving and engaging the services of the media and stakeholders.
"He furthermore applauded, through his media firm, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) and the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Engr. Kestin Pondi for massively employing the services of stakeholders as earlier stated, whom they have empowered across Niger Delta.

According to him, illegal oil refining operations, pipeline vandalism and theft have posed a severe threat and concern in the Niger Delta region due to its hazardous effect on the ecosystem and others inclusive.

"Emissions of dark smoke into the atmosphere as a result of bush burning and gas flaring including other harmful activities that has led to destruction of coastal lines.
"Crude oil fire, pouring its contents into the creeks has compounded our environmental woes, as many kilometers of our coastal areas has been condemned including our farmlands as tidal waves washing it's polluted content along the coast thereby resulting to different forms of ailments".

He posited that, the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Tantita has yielded great results, as pollution and cases of vandalism of oil facilities have reduced to its barest minimum noting that, small scale fish farmers in affected communities are recording progressive gains currently.

"Presently, there are also improved ocean-based commercial activities indicating that, there is an unexpected fast recovery of our damaged environment and ecosystem. These are enough proof that, Tantita Security is not out to ruin the people's businesses but to create a better marine base business through security and preservative approach to the environment.

"It is worthy to note that, Tantita Security outfit had been able to combat and effect necessary decisive measures to achieve it's objectives and gradually restore the bastardized coastal areas and should be applauded for their brevity of daring those who would rather adopt the illegal way at the expense of the people's well-being".
"I strongly advocate and further enjoined the youths, traditional rulers and community leaders to pledge their support and embrace the new opportunities put in place by Tantita Security project".

'Honestly we need him to save Bayelsa State, we  need him to bring his expertise as former Minister to transform the State from the forest as being described by one of our former Governors'

The Center commended Sylva for the noble roles he has played over the years in improving and promoting the Ijaw nation, especially in protection of heritage and deepening of the intellectual pool of the Ijaw nation.

An elated but somewhat emotional Sylva talked about his first run as Governor of Bayelsa State and lectured the center on how he conceptualised the amnesty program, which, ultimately settled restiveness in the Niger Delta region in a screeching stop.

Sylva also mentioned the late Nationalist Ernest Sissei Ikoli who was the pioneer editor of Daily Times and later became a parliamentarian in Lagos.
'Ijaw nation is blessed with ready examples of virtue for the upcoming generations to follow. We have an enviable pantheon of great men and women in our history and it is time to celebrate and honour them because it is they who have set the pace for us'

'I thank the HINREC for this honour, this will spur me to do even more and I am certain, as an Ijaw man, I will live up to the trajectories you have graciously set for me'

It is on note that the Aladja community has toll gate at the extreme end of Aladja community leading to Ogbe-Ijoh for easy access to attack the innocent people of Ogbe-Ijoh, and they have concluded plans to destroy the buildings on Ogbe-Ijoh GRA which they always do over time, unnecessary and senseless firing of guns at their convenient time, causing of havoc on Aladja Ogbe-Ijoh road, And threats to life of innocent road users.

As a peace loving people, we call on the entire Urhobo  nation to note that Ogbe-Ijoh Warri kingdom voted massively for their son. Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori of the PDP, despite Okowa's inability to settle  Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh crisis for the past seven years, the Aladja people deliberately wants to bring disunity among the Ijaws and the Urhobos

We call on Rt Hon. Sheriff  Oborevwori to take note of this, as he will assume office as Governor of the state in less than 26 days from now. We also call on the Executive governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to note and correct the deviance of Jite Brown chairman of Udu local government council who claimed to be the adopted son of the out-going Governor, Senator Okowa to stop his planned last attack as he promised.

The Urhobo nation should be aware and hold Jite Brown responsible for break down of law and order of this two communities, and that Ogbe-Ijoh community do not have any fight with the entire Urhobo nation, it is Jite Brown who is using the council money meant to develop Udu local government to buy arms and animations for Aladja people to attack Ogbe-Ijoh over time.

For the past one week the Aladja people have been coming to Ogbe-Ijoh end to shoot indiscriminately at Ogbe-Ijoh at their will, which the DSS, the Nigeria army, the police and other security agencies are aware of.

To this end, Governor Okowa should call on his adopted political son Jite Brown to order.

How Tompolo Tantita Security Company Boost Oil Production for FG

By Kagbala Ezekiel

Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd is currently the reference point to boost Nigeria's oil economy. The company's recent activities have resulted in increased volume of crude oil production and biggest gain for the Federal and States Government of Nigeria.

The Federal Government, Nigeria Navy and Tompolo’s company Tantita security service Nigeria Ltd deserve unreserved accolades for taking the bull by the horns and answering the clarion call to tackle offshore oil theft, thus saving the environment from further pollution and degradation.

Successes recorded in the crude oil production is sequel to the signing of the pipeline surveillance contract with Tantita. This has continued to  promote the development of both human capital and infrastructure of this country.

Initially, Oil companies have complained about spending so much money to fix pipelines when they are vandalized, this has added to the cost of production and reduces what gets to the Federal Government for development.
Currently oil companies are enjoying increased and improved oil production and related services with support from communities who are now beneficiaries of the security job across the Niger Delta region.

Sustained Security of Oil Facilities in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria through Tantita is the only productive means of ensuring improvement in the nation’s capacity to earn income to fund development, and reducing borrowing, in all our oil wealth should be harnessed to uplift the nation and unite the people.

The government should as a matter of utmost importance set-up a legislative instruments and policies that will sustain the gains recorded so far.

23-Yr- Old Lady Dies, 4 Days after Hip Surgery in Lagos

23-Yr- Old Lady Dies, 4 Days after Hip Surgery in Lagos

Lagos _____ A 23-years old girl, Destiny Benjamin, has been reported dead four days after a botched hip surgery popularly known as Brazilian Butt Lift, BBL, at Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Lagos.

Various social media platforms have been awash with the viral video of the unsuccessful surgery procedure since her death.

Confirming the development, the owner of the Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr Ogbe Omoruyi, where the surgery took place, denied the allegation that the lady died in the hospital during the surgery.

Omoruyi, who spoke to Vanguard, explained that the deceased underwent the surgery on 8th, March 2023, and had complained of difficulty in breathing before she was referred to the Genesis Specialists hospital, Ikeja GRA, Lagos State, where she gave up the ghost.

Omoruyi who is also a Plastic surgeon and owner of the facility further told Vanguard that the deceased was 23 years old and not 20 years.
He said: “She is a 23-years old girl according to what she wrote on the document. She had a surgery and after that, she was fine, her surgery went well. I can show you in our case note to show that everything was fine, however, after days, she was having difficulty breathing. We placed her on oxygen and she was stabilised before we referred her to an Intensive care unit, which is 10 minutes away from our facility.

“Unfortunately as we all know, surgery has its own risk, and if you ask any professional doctor or surgeon who knows about life consumptions and tractions, it is very easy to think that she could have fat embolism or clot embolism, but she has difficulty breathing.

“A very important investigation was done, and that was how the investigation was called CT pulmonary angiogram this can detect any clot that is present within the pulmonary system unfortunately, she suffered this condition but she was not pulmonary assort and that makes us begin to wonder what it could have been, because from the findings of the investigation, a different diagnosis was raised after the embolism, and the results came out based after she did the test.

“The test was done in the facility where she was referred to, when she got there and went for the test, the investigation was done and the report, I didn’t even get to know about the report. It was done at a different facility, however, we maintained a relationship with the facility and when I was informed and showed the results, it was said that she didn’t have an embolism.

“Her cousin, Sunset, was with her after her surgery.

They went around because they were together. She came here to see her and they took pictures together, moving around the clinic compound two days later. This is to let you know that she was fine after the surgery.

“ Unfortunately, an autopsy hasn’t been done; I don’t know if the family is going to consent to that, I mean the autopsy to see the exact cause of her death.”

Contrary to social media reports that the medical clinic recorded five deaths in a year, Ogbe said only two deaths have been recorded in the clinic, noting that it happened in the year 2018 and 2021.

He said: “This can be verified under the Local Government because all Local governments have Primary Health centres where practitioners give reports on the death toll. So, we have only two recorded deaths.”

When the Lagos State spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin was contacted, he said: “To the best of my knowledge, I am not aware of the incident, the families of the bereaved have neither reported to the police authority.”

However, efforts to contact the Genesis Specialist Hospital, proved abortive as the person who answered Vanguard’s call at press time said he did not know what happened.
