Just-In: Coalition of Civil Society Group Give FG 2Weeks Ultimatum To Reverse Hike ln Fuel Pump Price And Electricity Tariff
Rising from a meeting Nigerian youths comprising of human right activists, leaders from different fronts and civil society organizations on Saturday converged at Effurun Delta State to reach a unanimous decision for a peaceful protest against the hike in fuel and electricity prices.
The protest became necessary as a means to creatively engage the government towards being sensitive to the suffering of Nigerians.
In a meeting that was presided over by Bar. Omes Ogedegbe, Comr Israel Joe, Ozobo Austin and other civil society group leaders yielded a unanimous decision to commence the protest on the 28th September 2020.
The Peaceful protest against government inconsiderate policies is aimed at notifying the Nigerian Federal Government that; fuel, electricity tariff hike and the water resources Bill will stifle the economy and worsen the economic woes of Nigerians.
Nigerians deserve economic, political and social independence and the government should revert downward the electricity and fuel hike.
Important plans such as take-off point, logistics, security were addressed as well as the implementation of strategies, to make it the mother of all national protest.
The take of the point is from DSC roundabout to Efurun roundabout of the East-West federal government road.
All participants in the protest area on a patriotic and solidarity front to seek better government policies for all Nigerians.
The coalition hereby issues the federal government an ultimatum to reverse the price of fuel and electricity tariff before 28the of September 2020 or contend with the Nigerian masses.
