The remains of the late ljaw national leader, Senator Chief (Dr.) Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, OFR, CON, arrived Bayelsa International Airport from Abuja at about 10:AM on Monday 12th May, 2025 morning and was received by Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Gov. Douye Diri, Peter Obi, Amb. Godknows Boladei lgali and the leadership of INC for onward movement to Ijaw House along Sani Abacha Expressway in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State Capital for commendation service.
The solemn occasion was marked by a dignified reception attended by notable personalities, including former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, former Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, His Excellency, Peter Obi, PANDEF Chairman, Amb. Godknows Boladei lgali, former first lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan, INC President, Prof. Benjamin Okaba, his Vice 2, Se-Alabo Nengi James among others.
Meanwhile, other notable leaders of the Ijaw Nation also gathered to pay their final respects, celebrating the enduring legacy and immense contributions of the late senator to both the region and the nation Nigeria at large.
However, Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark remains was onward moved to Warri at about 5:PM for a brief stopover at his residence in swamp road for Service of songs. Thereafter, the remains was conveyed to his country home Kiagbodo, Burutu LGA of Delta State for a social night wake keep till dawn.
The final interment would take place on Tuesday 13th May, 2025 at Kiagbodo Town, Burutu LGA, Delta State.
