The Chairman, Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, Comrade Shedrack Agediga, hosted the leadership of the National Union of Izon-lbe Students (NUIS) in a meeting focused on advancing student welfare and educational advocacy.
During the visit, NUIS unveiled its Campus Tour Program, aimed at tackling social vices like cultism and drug abuse, while promoting academic excellence across tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
In response, Comrade Agediga commended the initiative and reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive educational support. He highlighted key programs under the Delta state bursary and scholarship board including:
• Bursaries for students in public and private institutions
• Scholarships for law school candidates and students with disabilities.
• Support for children of deceased civil servants.
• Awards for first-class and specialized students.
• Postgraduate scholarships and support.
Agediga emphasized that Delta state bursary is for all eligible delta state students and doesn't operate on ethnic quarter system.
The Chairman pledged full support for the NUIS tour, calling for impactful messaging to steer students away from vices and toward purpose-driven lives.
