Amaseikumo Festival: Specialist Doctors Operates 50 Patients on Eye Surgery, 150 Teeth Extraction, Others in Oporoza

As the 2025 annual festival of Gbaraun Egbesu, lbolomo-ere and Amaseikumo enters Day 4 in Oporoza, the ancestral headquarters of Gbaramatu kingdom Delta State, the medical department of the festival on Tuesday successfully carried out surgical operation on fifty eye patients suffering from Catahract/Pterygium, extraction of one hundred fifty patients teeths causing severe discomfort and sleepless night due to grossly broken down as well as mobility.
The free medical services was put together by the 2025 Amaseikumo Festival Organizing Committee headed by the MD. Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief (Engr.) Kestin Pondi in collaboration with Esther Matthew Tonlagha Foundation, Mom and Infant Care Network among others in order to careta for participants suffering from health challenges.
According to the Ophthalmologist who carried out the eye operation, Dr. Olowo Layemo, said their unit offers eye care service by restoring bad sight as well as operates patients suffering from Catahract, Pterygium and Glucoma. He noted that one hundred fifty surgery operations has been successfully done on patients of cataract and Pterygium as at Tuesday. While patients with shortsight where given free medicated glasses to enable them see far as well as read, Dr. Olowo stated.
Speaking to the Dentist, Dr. Asemota Festus, said the Dental unit have so far done fifty extraction of patients suffering from teeth pain as result of grossly broken down and mobility. While scaling and polishing of teeths where carried out on Eighty (80) patients. The patients where also given free tooth brush and paste as Amaseikumo festival incentive, Dr. Asemota asserted.
In his reaction, the head of medical services 2025 Amaseikumo Annual Festival, Dr. Clarkson Agagha, said there are four medical stands with mobile ambulance provided to careta for the medical need of people attending the festival. He reiterated that so far, they have resuscitated one emergency case.
He appreciated the Committee Chairman 2025 Amaseikumo Annual Festival, Engr. Kestin Pondi for improving the festival by introducing free medical care services as part of the program to address health care challenges of participants.
Expressing their heartfelt appreciation, some of the beneficiaries of the free medical services that undergo successful eye surgery operation on catahract, Mrs. Stella Christopher, from Enekorogha community in Burutu LGA and Mrs. Esther Cousin, from Kokodiagbene community in Gbaramatu kingdom thanked the medical team for the successful operations, stressing they had been suffering from Catahract in the past ten years but couldn't undergo surgical operation due to financial constraints.
They specifically appreciated High Chief. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, Engr. Kestin Pondi, Esther Matthew Tonlagha Foundation, Mom and lnfant Care Network and others that facilitated the free medical services to enable them restore clear visual.

Other free medical services rendered includes; Hypertension (BP), Maleria test, Sugar level, Diabetes, and general body check up.
However, on Wednesday 23rd April, 2025, the Gbaraun Egbesu festival will round up as the king of South-South highlife music, Chief. Barrister Smooth aka the paddle of Niger Delta will be live to entertain guests at the night section with good melody.
