A group of ljaw women under the aegis of Oil Ladies Warehouse Waterside, Bulou-ama NPA, Warri South LGA, Delta State, has made a passionate appeal to the management of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for help over life challenges due to termination of illegal oil bunkering in the creeks of Niger Delta by the federal government of Nigeria.
The group numbering over three hundred women who where unto illegal oil bunkering business as their only means of survival led by madam Peres Leader, made the appeal on Wednesday at NPA Warri, stated that life has become miserable and unbearable for them to live having their illegal oil bunkering camps being destroyed by federal government in collaboration with Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited over the past three years.
The women appealed to the management of the anti-oil theft company Chaired by the foremost ljaw leader, High. Chief.(Dr.) Oweizide Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, Sir. Matthew Tonlagha, Vice Chairman, High. Chief Engr. Kestin Pondi, MD Tantita and Chief. Godfrey Tare Pondi, GM Operations Tantita to empower them with little financial support to start trading business in order to feed their families.
The women alleged that the management of Tantita Security Services promised to empower them as soon as possible when they stopped the cooking and burning (kpofire) illegal oil business since 2022 but they have not been empowered neither carried along, thereby leaving them behind to tangle in untold hardship.
The women sharing tears on their kneels begging High Chief. Government Ekpemupolo, Engr. Kestin Pondi and Sir. Matthew Tonlagha to have a human face and address their predicament, saying they have no other choice than to come out in their numbers to make this public appeal because of lack of access to the management, madam Peres Leader asserted.
