The 2025 second edition of the Africa for peace Mini football tournament with over thirty two teams participated has come to an end as lgogbadu All Stars FC clinched the trophy.
The annual football tournament sponsored by Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade PhD, CEO/National Coordinator Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) is aimed at promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic groups in Warri and its environs.
The one month long sport fiesta held at the Africa for Peace Game Village Ugolo Town, near Osubi Airport in Okpe LGA, Delta State featured male and female football tournament, senior and junior category, Scrabble, Chess, Table Tennis among others.
The grand finale was held on Sunday December 7th, 2025 at the Africa for Peace Game Village, Ugolo Town Delta State. Each player participated for the final match went home with one hundred thousand naira (N100, 000-00).
In the football category, lgogbadu All Stars FC Won the trophy and went home with the sum of One Million Naira (N1, 000, 000.00) with other consolation prizes.
The first runner up, Daudu United All Stars FC went home with the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500, 000.00) only. While the second runner up, Odedego FC went home with the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Naira only (N300, 000.00) respectively.
The award of best behave team for senior goes to Daudu FC. While the pipeline Dragons won the award of best behave team for the junior.
Most valuable player for the junior category goes to Prosper jersey number 8 for Uyoko FC. While the most valuable player for the senior category goes to Atutu from Daudu FC.
Otrukpe Atutu for the senior category of Daudu FC emerged the highest goal scorer who scores a total of 13 goals. While Edwin Maminogo for the junior category scores the total of 10 goals to emerged the highest goal scorer of the tournament.
Reacting to the press shortly after the match, the sponsor of the mini football tournament, Chief Comrade. Sheriff Mulade said the sport fiesta is to promote peace, identify new talents as well as to complement the efforts of government in promoting peaceful coexistence in Delta State.
He called on the multinational oil company's, private firms to support the football tournament and also called on both local and foreign investors to come and invest in Delta State, adding that peace has been restored in the oil city Warri and its environs.
